22 year old Dimash flew back to Kazakhstan to do this in between two episodes of Singer where he also had to learn his first song in Chinese Mandarin and he had to do it all in a week. Thats him playing the piano at the start and the high notes were him too. 💖

Yep, their attire is completely disjointed but I think the show designers were going for a collision of song genres. Dimash is the ultimate mash-up of song genres though. Honestly, they could have had him up there alone and he would have carried the whole theme to perfection. This was a performance for the opening ceremony of the 28th Winter Universiade held in Almaty KZ in January 29th, 2017. So this was a crazy time for Dimash. Dimash was in China filming the TV show the "Singer" at the time. In fact, the first episode where he sang SOS had aired on Chinese TV on January 21. And he had just recorded "The Show Must Go On" (the third episode) when he left China and flew to Kazakhstan to do this performance with Zarina. Then turned around and flew home to film "Autumn Strong" Now Autumn Strong was his first Chinese song and he was under all this enormous pressure to get every syllable correct and to perform all the emotions flawlessly. When he was on the Singer show and filming constantly for that, he was also doing Spring festivals and recording movie soundtracks, and doing commercials! Really, his timeline in 2017, as well as 2018, would just blow your mind. No one works harder than Dimash! Fil! You dropped 3 Dimash vids my friend during a busy week for me 😵😵😵. To all of you waiting for subtitles... understand that my homework and my regular job had to come first. However, I will do subtitles for all three Dimash videos this weekend. It was a grand concert. It was attended by the President of Kazakhstan, various famous guests. Kazakhstan hosts such huge world-class events. Zarina is the soloist of the Opera House in the Kazakh capital Nur Sultan. I won't write about her amazing voice and beauty. You've seen it yourself. Dimash in January 2017 began to participate in the Chinese competition "I Am a Singer", where on January 21, 2017 sang the song S.O.S., January 28, 2017 sang the song "OPERA-2". Then Dimash flew to Kazakhstan to participate in the opening of the Universiade. Then he flew back to China, where he continued to participate in the contest "I Am a Singer" and on February 4, 2017 sang the song "THE SHOW SHOW MUST GO ON". Dimash was already known in Kazakhstan.

Oh, forgot to mention: since Dimash is so unbelievably good in singing, we tend to imagine him as a completely ethereal being, almost walking on air, all about music... But no. He is all physical too. Growing up, he did some serious swimming, AND football (soccer), AND taekwondo. AND, of course, serious horseback riding is in his Kazakh nature. So... yes. That's why he can run & jump all over the stage and still sing flawlessly, like an angel

Zarina is from the Almaty Opera. My guess is he will continue to do a collaboration like this and Notre Dame de Paris when asked. He has even said when asked if he will ever go back to pure classical you never know what the future brings. So guessing he doesn't count it out. I often think if he gets tired of being away from Kazakhstan and wants to continue performing he might go to the opera house. His element is definitely on stage. Though he is truly becoming so comfortable in front of the camera perhaps we will see him as a singing 007. 😊

I agree. The stylistic difference between Dimash and Zarina is likely designed to highlight the juxtaposition between the classical operatic style and the pop/rock that Dimash started with. A visual contrast along with the auditory contrast. Great reaction though!

Also, when Dimash comes into the scene, the rythm of the song also changes to more pop or rock style. He is a master of crossover and I realy like Dimash singing like that.
