My good lady and I have recently joined the merlin club after 18 years away from archery ..previously we were target archers but we love the simplicity of shooting this way in a lovley location close to where we live..the team at the new large premises in Burton on trent are so accommodating and helpful ..
Thorough review, Jim. You mentioned doing a ‘tuning’ video - I’d be interested to see that. Be also good to understand more about different types of strings as well. All the best, stay safe.
I have the first one Ben and Merlin sold, went there for a new tab with finger separator and came out with the tab plus a black Pathfinder and Matthews bow quiver + heavy hunter arrows, its a really nice bow
Watching you out there in the woods shooting Arrows somehow give that Relaxing feeling and seem to make me want to get out and shoot, You`re very good giving reviews, I hope you don`t Stop !! >>> Thank You
Nice one Jim I enjoyed that I bought one of these in a greeny gold colour(Shines but all about personal taste hey ;) I bought mine from Merlin about a year ago and have been using it with Black wolf 50 pound limbs and love it it was noisy at first but change the brace height find a beaver and steal its balls and it will quiet down nicely,I also leather wrapped the grip its more comfortable and you dont need a glove in winter as Aluminium sucks up cold and freezes your hand solid I think it helps damp down the sound and a damper rod on the front it just whispers Up shot is it aint cheap but it is a very nice riser and I struggle with which bow to use the Black wolf or the pathfinder they are both great will add I always buy from Melin if im buying new they are the best I have found out there best price honest service.
Liked the video .I feel better knowing that longer targets are not easy . As your such a good archer and can find it challenging as well.. .Thanks good video
It's great watching you again! If you will still go gathering - do not give up shooting it. It was really good to watch. I have a question for you. I shoot with W&W Black Elk 30lbs (I had to reduce - before that 40lbs). Did I understand correctly that it is best to choose arrows with a hardness of 700 to 30lbs?
Hi great review 👍 Just wondering what the riser would be like in the rain would it become slippery at all ? And also what do you think of the cottonmouth 2 bow ?? I know there 2 very different bows I'm keen on both but being in NZ I can't just pop in to a store and have a look Any advice would be appreciated Thanks
oooh Don't make me pick. 😅 I love the grip on the Pathfinder, and the W&W is very smooth, id have to get them both out agin and have a ply to remind myself... -GJ
@@MerlinArchery I would *love* to see a comparison of some high-tech traditional bows. I'm ready to upgrade from my starter bow (The SinoArt Black Hunter) and it is a really hard decision. Entry level bows are so good these days, that one has to make a very good choice in selecting a "next-level" bow for it to even constitute an upgrade. I don't want to decide based off of speed alone, but no one has done a comprehensive side-by-side of multiple candidates for an upgrade bow. Kramer Ammons did an awesome systematic comparison of starter bows. I think you could do a phenomenal job systematically comparing multiple "next-level" bows for those who are ready to upgrade.
Hi Jim. What draw length are you? I'm 29.5" I am interested in the 19" riser with medium MYBO limbs making a 62" bow. My question is did you feel any stacking at all?...Just I don't like stacking as it's me fighting the bow.
Does look good with a mat finish, though as you say it needs a bit of tuning as sounds a little twangy, which is probably arrow and bow match choice. Does the hand grip allow for adding a wooden grip as that could be a nice addition. Stick with hit quiver mate as we get to see the bow better :-) Stay safe

Please do a video on tuning it!
Always nice to see you shooting again ! 🙂🙂
Great video Jim! Love seeing you enjoy shooting and give another excellent review!

Awesome to see you again! Have to say that string is still perfect 🙂 thank you for making videos
I love mine, had it about a year bought it as my first trad (sort of) bow havent touched my compound since. Great video
Great to see the woods again. I was there for the EFAA Spring champs. I'll be back for the EFAA nationals later in the year. Bow looks good too ;)

I personally prefer wooden bows. But this is a really beautiful piece. Especially in the bronze color. :)
My 19" bronze is coming in a couple of weeks and looking forward to it. It's quite a minimalist and lightweight bow which is what I was looking for.
Yes silence that bow up with Velcro on the limb to riser contact points, proper brace height and string silencers. Make another video on this bow??

How does this compare to samick discovery, black elk or black wolf?
Good shooting on the 56'er Jim 👍
can you put a sight on this?
I ordered the 19" camo version with the carbon foam limbs :-)

If you had to choose between the Mybo Pathfinder and the Win & Win Black Wolf, which one would you go for and why?
oooh Don't make me pick. 😅

This needs revisiting
I have this riser paired with Uukah limbs at 47 # and its a great combo I really like it 😀
Can the Pathfinder be used in barebow competitions?
Can’t see why not.
What material did you put on your riser shelf? All the ones I find and have used come off after a couple days of shooting my sino art 60 lb bow.
Would like to see your opinion on the pse shaman

Nice, Thank you, Jim.
Good review
Hi Jim, do you think these pathfinder limbs are better than the Win&Win black wolf limbs ?
I'd need to spend a little more time comparing them to give you an comprehensive answer Mark, but both are great quality
Thx for the nice video Jim! How much is your favorite drawweight on the fingers for 3D shooting? Greetz from the Belgian Ardennes, stay healty!
probably 35# -40# for me
Nice bow. Good they make the 19inch riser too . I’ve got the Black Wolf and find that a noisy bow but who cares if they are good shooters.
Instinctive shooting sucks! 😄 good video and nice looking bow though! Wonder how much past center is cut?
Where is 'Black hunter' review, man? That's also in your cabin.
Patience young Padawan.... 😉 we have an unboxing video going up next week 😇
String silencers limb savers. Limb pads or wrapped serving.
I like it even tho its not made of wood.
They shold have made the grip with an option for wooden or plastic grip. If you don't like the narrow grip, there are no options.
Does look good with a mat finish, though as you say it needs a bit of tuning as sounds a little twangy, which is probably arrow and bow match choice.

special hello there
70s hot for our american friends.....🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭
It ain hot till the road starts to melt.
You look weird with a metal riser. A bit like Thor swapping his 42lb hammer for a wooden mallet lol. :D
I'm not offended by manly sweat stains
