Either she doesn’t let herself or she just doesn’t. So it’s easy for her to be distant and not get attached. She doesn’t need or expect anything from them so she’s never let down so she doesn’t get all needy and crazy about where they are, who they’re talking to, etc. She keeps her options open at all times. And that makes guys try harder to get her interest and to win her over. So interesting. Most girls find themselves getting attached and having expectations and that’s where we lose ourselves. This is all 100% accurate from my point of view. Thinking back if you ever encountered a situation where you may have liked a person but they liked you way more than you liked them. I think this was the case with Kristin Stephen & Talen. Plus being that Laguna is such a small town not many choices for dating so I’m sure it was easy for her to get bored with guys. Kristen is still amazing but so much more mature, but even Stephen was a surprise, he’s so chatty and not vapid like back then but that’s understandable!

Not a judgment just an observation: Jessica loves drama! It's why she's so much more into bad boy Jason than sweet, safe Dieter. She loves talking about Jason with everyone and lights up even if they're telling her why he's bad and to break up. She loves the hickey. She loves the Alex drama because even if Jason treats her like a booty call he's choosing her over Alex again so she "wins." Even when Jason is at his worst she's kind of always smiling. I think there could've been a Jessica spinoff because she was ready to deliver drama AND beach running scenes.

When I met my husband I lived in Texas and he lived in El Segundo, CA. The first time I flew out to visit him he asked what I wanted to do. I said walk to the beach, of course. He had NEVER done that before. He had lived in El Segundo for 3 years. He had lived in CA his entire life, between SF and El Segundo. Insane! We had the best time. Then he moved to Dallas and we only go to the beach when we are in the Caribbean.
That's wild that people don't take advantage of the coast. Beaches are one of the first thing I think of when I think of So-cal. Maybe they're just too crowded now?

Hey Timmy, (From SF, here). Cable cars have fare, but it's nearly impossible for the driver to enforce because of how they have to operate the mechanisms. And probably at this point they didn't have the transit cards where you can just tap on and off... Technically other transit (bus, metro) act as transfers too, so if they were bopping around the city, their ticket would have them covered. Although, if you were a financial bro, you probably would just flat out not pay for transit. :P
There's always tourists waiting on Polk for the trolly right? Don't most of them have tickets? I did it a few years ago and it was like 5 dollars I think?
So I read in an interview that Kirsten and Stephen actually got “back together” during this season but she didn’t want to show it on camera so when Talan says this is her 15th closure it’s because she had been seeing Steven off camera the whole time. But they were both single to do what they wanted and she didn’t want the producers in her relationship… that’s why the love triangle between her Stephen and Lauren died down and she never really stopped seeing Stephen.

15:13 - the concert was this annual radio station (KFOG) concert called KaBoom! It was so fun (and FREE until 2010, I think?) and ended with a great fireworks show on the Embarcadero (the eastern-most part of the city - right on the Bay). Awesome memories!
In fairness, Kristin and Stephen have both said this was all the producers at this point, Stephen was getting ready to start One Tree Hill and was only doing any of these episodes through obligation not through want and Kristin was already running tired of the whole thing in general. I seem to remember on a recent podcast Kristin saying Stephen actually had a girlfriend who was actually THERE whilst some of these scenes were being filmed... I think at this point, the scenes with the original members at least were entirely scripted.

When I first watched that Casey/Alex M scene on the beach I always felt so bad for Casey but then watching your reactions, you're right she deserved it; she didn't even apologize and basically told Alex M. (organ) lol to "get over it". So glad you're doing Season 3! But LC's sister is hardly in it (thankfully). She was pretty bratty but had a good ending with her friendship with Rocky. Re: your reactions to Stephen. I think you're a little too harsh. He seems like a good guy that just played LC (probably because of the producers). Plus, he was in high school so he gets a little bit of a pass.

I don’t think anyone feels bad for Stephen at this point. I think I did when I watched the show as a teenager, but not now. Kristin was clearly over it at this point. I do feel bad for Talan. People I never really care for (then and now), Alex M and Casey. They’re definitely not the worst, but they’re not my favorite. They make the show interesting, at least.

I feel like Kristin just understands how guys act. They look at other girls they flirt ..they may even cheat especially at that age...and she is just really good at accepting thats how guys are at that age and she plays it super cool. I'm sure it hurts her obviously but she handles it alot better than most girls that age.

When I met my husband I lived in Texas and he lived in El Segundo, CA. The first time I flew out to visit him he asked what I wanted to do. I said walk to the beach, of course. He had NEVER done that before. He had lived in El Segundo for 3 years. He had lived in CA his entire life, between SF and El Segundo. Insane! We had the best time. Then he moved to Dallas and we only go to the beach when we are in the Caribbean.
That's wild that people don't take advantage of the coast. Beaches are one of the first thing I think of when I think of So-cal. Maybe they're just too crowded now?

Hey Timmy, (From SF, here). Cable cars have fare, but it's nearly impossible for the driver to enforce because of how they have to operate the mechanisms. And probably at this point they didn't have the transit cards where you can just tap on and off... Technically other transit (bus, metro) act as transfers too, so if they were bopping around the city, their ticket would have them covered. Although, if you were a financial bro, you probably would just flat out not pay for transit. :P
There's always tourists waiting on Polk for the trolly right? Don't most of them have tickets? I did it a few years ago and it was like 5 dollars I think?
I went to SFSU back in ‘08 and we would have paper tickets/cards police always checked at certain stops (usually right before downtown lol).
So I read in an interview that Kirsten and Stephen actually got “back together” during this season but she didn’t want to show it on camera so when Talan says this is her 15th closure it’s because she had been seeing Steven off camera the whole time. But they were both single to do what they wanted and she didn’t want the producers in her relationship… that’s why the love triangle between her Stephen and Lauren died down and she never really stopped seeing Stephen.
Man, I really felt like it was mature of Casey to call Alex to talk face to face but that dissipated quickly once Casey started her non-apology lol

15:13 - the concert was this annual radio station (KFOG) concert called KaBoom! It was so fun (and FREE until 2010, I think?) and ended with a great fireworks show on the Embarcadero (the eastern-most part of the city - right on the Bay). Awesome memories!

In fairness, Kristin and Stephen have both said this was all the producers at this point, Stephen was getting ready to start One Tree Hill and was only doing any of these episodes through obligation not through want and Kristin was already running tired of the whole thing in general. I seem to remember on a recent podcast Kristin saying Stephen actually had a girlfriend who was actually THERE whilst some of these scenes were being filmed... I think at this point, the scenes with the original members at least were entirely scripted.

@@alliemerritt5058 I believe this was 2005 and OTH season 4 was 2006 and it was shot slightly in advance and he was shooting another one of those cheesy teen romcoms at the time also, it was Kristin who brought it up recently on a podcast, saying it made her uncomfortable to shoot these scenes on camera with his actual GF rite there.

When I first watched that Casey/Alex M scene on the beach I always felt so bad for Casey but then watching your reactions, you're right she deserved it; she didn't even apologize and basically told Alex M. (organ) lol to "get over it". So glad you're doing Season 3! But LC's sister is hardly in it (thankfully). She was pretty bratty but had a good ending with her friendship with Rocky. Re: your reactions to Stephen. I think you're a little too harsh. He seems like a good guy that just played LC (probably because of the producers). Plus, he was in high school so he gets a little bit of a pass.
