Molly Hatchet is the rock band I am thinking of. You have the flare of that lead guitarist on the song, "Dreams I'll Never See." Very dope jamming. You have that Molly Hatchet tone with nothing but your axe and the 1974X.
Thanks for the demo! I have been considering one of these amps and it is great to use You Tube to hear the dynamics of the amp and then to pick up a used one over the net! By the way I must compliment you on your R9! It is good one with a truly 10 top.
I dont have it anymore but it was loud enough for most small gigs. it was easily drowned out when you were at larger venues. I use a goodsell super 17 with a modded tone stack and high output transformer now. Pushing maybe 25 watts. its a killer amp!
Awesome demo as you explain it all and are a purist with what you like. Why do you dime the guitar? I usually go like high noon for starters on the amp and then about 7 on the axe for some headroom, and then you don't have to do all the amp movement. Just saying for performing. Really liked your demo.❤ I am watching it because I just got that amp on a Friday and it won't get here until Monday, so you're my fix until then. It seems you can get almost studio sound right out of the amp to the guitar. That riff you play is something close to a 38 special or some country rock band that is tripping my trigger. Really really nice rig you have!!!!🇬🇧🍁🎃👻🕊️♥️
Dude I really dig your style. I even liked the one with all the tuning problems. But I got to say you have the slickest way of going from fingerpicking to holding the pick I have ever seen, Dude that is smooth! I hate to ask but I am sure I am not the only one who would appreciate it if you could slow it done some and show us exactly how you are doing that on a video
Thanks for posting. I'm looking at buying a set of Sheptones for my Gibson LP Classic. I tried Dimarzio PAF's and while they're probably not too bad for Jazz, they had no zing, punch, bite AT ALL.
I dont really do professional demos haha. Just setup a camera and go. These were all with a flip mino hd which has a pretty bad mic. If i do make any more, it will be with my Canon 7D or t3i( t3i has manual audio input controls so i can control the levels) . this les paul was stolen a year ago on april 28th, miss it alot, and i sold this amp too. and most of the guitars in the back were stolen, but they actually left my red strat in the background which is a 56 NOS fender CS.love that one
@peaceisfree93 of course i would dude, it all depends the venue. this amp isnt the loudest, but its got the balls dude, all in a pretty small amp too dude. Its a tone you wouldnt expect from this small an amp. although my friend got one and put mercury magnetics trasformers and a choke in it, and mine sounded alot better, honestly i have not found another that sounds as good as this one
Finally got access to this account again a year later. when google took over it wouldnt let me on. Hopefully post new and better videos with my Canon 5D mk.2
great video, great playing, great info, great gear. It all deserves to be recorded properly though, I had to switch it off because it was hurting my ears and you can't really tell what it's supposed to sound like. Id love to see this recorded with a mic if you can? otherwise great video. Thanks
Sounds killer. My guess it probably sounds even better in person. I think I played one similar and MAE in davie. And I had to change clothes. Their not cheap. $2600 out the door. Rock on
very cool effort and playing - thanks! I have a '07 Standard with Sheptone "Custom Jimmy Page PAFs" (I think the are now called "Heartbreakers") Can't praise the Page PAFs enough (or Shep) - especially the middle position - great tone... In addition to my stack (1959HW w/ 8x12" 25w Greenbacks), I have a 1974X (and ext. cabinet) - 18w's of classic Marshall tone - highly recommend The above very pricey, but worth it if that's your idea of ear candy...
this guitar was stolen last april 28th, will never forget, house was broken into it and this room raided almost completely. This guitars was about 5799 without my upgrades i put in it
I will never understand what the hell people find good about JJ tubes. I mean they are utter Garbage every single one I have had has broken at the glass welded seem at the bottom, Not only that they sound like shit, Compared too just about anything, mean it the kind of tube you buy if you need a fast replacement on the run. Glad your not using them now that That rant is over, Your amp/ guitar have nice tone. Thanks........................ I thought heard a touch of Fuzz somewhere in there idk?
haha, sorry, i didnt mean to be rude. may i suggest some tips? Use 2 cameras (or record 2 times, 2 angles), or inser texts while youre playing. And, if its possible, record audio with 2 mics, one for the amp and one for you (or record 2 times), and mix after. These makes your video "cooler". But, awesome tone, anyway! Les Paul and Marshall is the best combination for guitar! And you play very well!
haha, never been asked that before, i do it so effortlessly i honeslty dont even think about. I dont have access to this channel anymore, Im commenting from the channel i do have access to though, ill try to make you a video. Yeah most people tuck it under their second finger, but then you lose the use of that finger, so i just got in the habbit of putting it in between my fingers

Wow...great tones.
Sounds awesome...and it has an amazing design too. Must look beautiful on a stage.

kept watching your foot. enjoyed the demo. thanks.

One thing that camera can't do is express how loud that is in that room

@maxsmith011 that's just a little improv. A Hendrix influenced lick. I like to do that kind of stuff on a clear neck pickup. Sounds full and great

Would 5 on the vol be loud enough in a pub gig situ with a Tele do you think?

fantastic amp..is it possible gig with it with the band without mic?
Damn i wish i couldve heard that in HD

Yes sir! ;-)
Yup!
bro, I wish I knew. I literally make stuff up as I go, it may or may not have reference to a song I have heard before haha
The jtm line is somewhat similar?
Have you posted some other vids with your 1974x here in RUclips like you said ?
Them crunchy cleans.
Can you do the same video, but using the strat in the background !! Would be awesome !! :-)
How could be a PAF made as a 57 or 58 with Alnico 5 Magnets if Magnets were Alnico 2 in those years? :-/
Voltage is being used in what bolt?
Attenuator you are using?
What's that song called that you played first?
Do I hear tube rattle in this video?
Yeah, I heard a little Good Times Bad Times in there.
Can you tell me what model Les Paul that is? I'd like to track one down with that finish, especially the red on the sides and back. Thanks!
-Ted
It was a 2009 1959 reissue in honey burst. Was stolen 2 years after this video.

Is that a non-desired vibration around 2:25?
in the beginning, it does sound like a tube is rattling
although, later I don't hear it, hmm...
maybe an a/v artifact?
sharp ear, risk710 :~)
apologies sir haha I was just explaining my setup in detail

When you say the regular channel, do you mean the one with tremolo or without?
Without
how much was your guitar?
Is this a loud amp?
sounds like the tubes are bad
I'm getting clipping thru my speakers
Yep… that’s what happens when you’re using a flip HD cam with a crappy mic. I don’t have access to the account to take the videos down
Fuck yeah just got paid zz top.
ZZ Top/Joe Bonamassa - Just Got Paid :)
Lol
this is a joke , at least some people can hear ,
Yeah I was 14 and it was a shitty camera. Have zero access to this channel. Thanks for the comment ..
