This was incredibly satisfying. Coming from North America where most people have ugly, plain, geometric square plots of grass in their front and backyards - I find the organic, higgledy piggledy, rambunctuous English garden so soothing, and pleasing and inspiring.

England is a small country and under attack from that horrid monster change, motorways airports etc, but it is as you imply really a jungle of plants and growth, when the romans arrived they could barely make progress because of it, it’s really a kind of temperate rain Forrest. And since not very cold, or hot rare in that ypu have to look hard for my foreign plants they will not grow here. It is extraordinarily but sometimes overlooked in this regard, I suggest you visit right at the end of may or early June,especially to see the roses.
