Woodturning a turkey call from walnut

  • A friend of mine wanted me to make him a turkey call pot and striker. This is the process I use to make them. I get alot of information from other wood turners and I hope this helps other wood turners with their ideas.

      I purchase the slate through Amazon and the sound board as well. Other than that I just measure the slate thickness and diameter to get the dimensions I need. Just remember to drill your holes before you turn them.

    I've not seen channels notched into the tone board pedestal before, mind sharing the purpose of that notch?

      It allows the sound to escape from center of sound board. Like any fine musical instrument
