The buddy comedy movies starring Hope, Crosby & Dorothy Lamour was so good. One of my favorite songs is Welcome to my dreams by Crosby from 'On the Road '
We will never see their like again. Legendary performers who will not be surpassed. Hollywood is now all about pretty faces and not talent. Those two guys had tons of talent.
Bob wasn’t kidding about having been a star on Broadway and of course radio. But for me the genius was Bing, and not just for his singing. The naturalness of his acting almost made Spencer Tracy seem wooden! Thanks for posting.
The actor who welcomes Hope is Peter Leeds, who was one of the better "straight men" in the business and worked with the top comedians of that era. Leeds also had a career on Broadway and did much voice work for cartoons. Leeds use of "Harry" to introduce Crosby was a bit of an inside joke, as that was Crosby's real first name.
Just heard from other Hollywood crowd that Bing would not invite Bob Hope to any of is small parties and get together when they live a few blocks from one another. Bob Hope did invite Bing Crosby to his parties but Bing did not accept his invites!😮
Anybody else think those two were accidentally separated at birth? Brothers from another mother? I'm not really sure about the theory of reincarnation - but, they're a good argument. I've never seen a video of the two of them together where the connection isn't instantaneous.
Hope and Crosby were only appear as best friends on the entertainment settings. In real life, they rarely if ever socialize with one another. I guess you can call the relationship - acquaintances.
Bing's version is better than Bob's, but then I'm biased. The repartee in both versions is spot-on. That five-spot changed hands a lot. Check it out. ruclips.net/video/5ZimV_3BMVQ/видео.html

Those guys were soulmates, bing charms bob with his singing and bob charms bing with his antics.
