These fake Heat Actions (EX Actions) as I call them, where Yagami just fakes to hit the opponent, are godlike, LOL. Especially because one of them, the one with the wall, is a reference to a substory in Yakuza 6.
They really took dragon engine combat and upgraded it in ways I never even thought about. Plus the snake style and the boxing style and playing as Kaito? They went all out man. Can't wait to see how they top this with future judgment or yakuza entries

I would like to note with Sky Dancer (neo jump as you called it) you can style swap while still in midair and instantly ground yourself. For advanced players or someone trying to look really cool you can swap, sky dance away, and swap back and use it as a sort if replacement for your dodge. The frames are a tiny bit better and with the upgrade it’s a very nice gap closer

I too noticed Yagami can't grab from behind, enemies will just turn around when you do. Which is weird because heat actions from behind still exist, right? They show them on the heat action list iirc. Maybe it's just a demo thing.

there is a button to switch them front and back while holding them.
