Jubei Jackson I totally agree! What I really like about it is the whole sadistic and maniacal performance from Kurt Russell and it being dialogue driven like the majority of his films and I thought it was paired nicely to Planet Terror which is all gore and action!👍🏼👊🏼
Honestly if I had to pick one of his films to get a great 4K transfer it'd be Django Unchained. I think it looks great on blu ray but would be well served from the power of 4K. Great video!
Saw it in 35mm at grandlake theater and saw in 4k at a different theater. 35mm film projection blow the 4k projection out the water. Got the collector's edition 4k w/45 vinyl. It's worth the money!
even though Hateful Eight isn't my favorite Tarantino film it was shot entirely on 70mm so I'd be really curious to see the extended version of that on 4k blu ray
Saw this at the Cinerama Dome in LA (which you see light up in the film) projected in 70mm. Love this movie. Movie looks good on home video but obviously doesn’t come close to replicating the texture you get when you see it projected on film. It was like a rock concert. The audience went wild for this film. Great review!
I got the best buy steel book today and loved it. Might be my favorite Quinton Tarantino movie. It's been a while since I've seen pulp fiction and gonna have to watch that again soon though. I loved that the end credits hat a bit where Batman and Robin was talking how you can win a TV and all that. It was really cool
Amen to that! DEATHPROOF will be stunning in 4K. Beautiful shots great car sounds clear dialogue and a beautiful cast. Can’t wait. I just pick up “Once upon a Time” excited to see it
Eric Kelly Just the original theatrical unfortunately at least here on the UK release. The extra footage is there but is presented as deleted scenes. Still my movie of the year though and is fantastic in 4k 👍👍
Great film - definitely a 4K Blu-ray purchase - the only drawback for me is the lossless DTS-HD track is listed as 16-bit, rather than the industry standard 24-bit. I'm sure it still sounds great, but it could have sounded fuller, smother and richer in 24-bit. I've seen this before on Tarantino Blu-ray's (Kill Bill 1 has 16-bit LPCM audio, Kill Bill 2 has 24-bit LPCM audio). The difference in audio bit-depth is dramatic (16-bit = 65,536 voltage values vs 24-bit = over 16 million additional voltage values).
The Hateful 8 would be my pick for his next 4k release. Ennio Morricone's superb score coupled with a 65mm presentation? oof. The opening shot of the stage couch riding in trying to avoid the blizzard will say it all. The hints of yellow and red throughout the film would look great with HDR. Mmmm MMMM. My 2nd choice would be Inglorious Basterds, cause well... Because! Honestly, his entire filmography is perfect for 4k. You can't go wrong with either of them.
Knew you would like this one mate. How have you only got 20k subscribers? You are by far one of the best 4k reviewers on the tube. I only trust your opinion on the format. Also I'd personally love to see Inglorious Basterds upgraded to 4K. I think the HDR would work wonders on that masterpiece
Hello my friend the UK copy of this 4K disc has the 25 mins of additional scenes and the music selections with 26 tracks hope this helps you plus the UK blu-ray is region free
Kevin Lantzer haha nice! That’s my closest theater and it’s not too big that’s for sure lol. A big part of why I built out a home theater instead of 40 minutes driving each way to catch a flick haha but sometimes ya just can’t wait to see some things!
would really like to see Hateful Eight in 4k but dont know if that will ever happen. really, his whole collection would be great to see, but i just dont know if hes ever going to go for it. i could really use a 4k roadshow edition of hateful eight though.
I'm very OCD about my movie collection. Things I hate: 1) DVD's are taller than the blu-ray case. 2) Clear blu-ray cases, when they should be blue 3) Digi-books 4) Box-sets 5) Steel books 6) Slip covers 7) special, "collectable" junk from Walmart, Target, etc 8) cardboard snap cases 9) inserts, artwork, and paying more for extra features that 9 out of 10 times, I will never watch 10) Storing divided by dvd, blu-ray (etc); storing by dvd maker, Criterion, Mill Creek, etc. Storing by genre, horror, comedy, etc 11) and generally anything that makes it difficult to remove the blu-ray quickly I'm into the movies...and therefore uniformity. I don't feel a need to surround myself with plush toys of Freddy Kruger, or Jason. And I buy what I want to watch...not just to add it to the collection.
@@jimmyrade7815 about Quentin's movies. They found a workaround for that but Kevin Smith's Dogma for example? Harvey is asking 3 or 5 mil usd for the rights which Kevin said is not worth it.
bs. Watched it originally on native 35mm film in Music Box Theatre in Chicago. Then 2 times at 150" fhd setup. Same boring presentation as Ad Astra, Rambo: last blood or Irishman: dicaprio overplayed as usual, pitt and robie with dumb pocker face. Nothing to right home about. Good for those who adore dicaprio and/or pitt.
I was disappointed none of the deleted scenes in the blu-ray had stuff with Sharon. You can clearly see from the trailers that there are several of her scenes that were never put out and I’m dying to see them! Getting the book hoping there is more stuff with her.
Definitely want to see Inglourious Basterds in 4K.
Hell yeah my man👊🏿💯
Me too, but they have to go back to the camera negatives to get a true 4k of the film
The audio on Bluray is super impressive
This aged well
@@mAtHy0o 🤐🤣
Kill Bill would be excellent in 4K. That’s be the one I’d pick. Both movies wrapped up in a nice package. I’d buy it in a heartbeat.
Dylan417 include the Whole Bloody Affair cut while they’re at it and that’ll sell for sure
Agreed. Tarantino's second-best in my opinion.
Kill bill the whole bloody affair in 4K would be an absolute dream
Still my favorite thing Tarantino has done!!
Yessssss
I was lucky to have seen this on 35mm and a 70mm blow-up. Amazing experiences!
Yeah there was a limited 35mm release here and I got a chance to see it.
I would love to see the Grindhouse double feature get a 4K release!
Deathproof was sooo good. Great soundtrack and beautiful girls. Just a great flick all around.
Jubei Jackson I totally agree! What I really like about it is the whole sadistic and maniacal performance from Kurt Russell and it being dialogue driven like the majority of his films and I thought it was paired nicely to Planet Terror which is all gore and action!👍🏼👊🏼
@@marvelvsdc6611 It's so fun to have friends over and watch Grindhouse with the trailers and everything.
That would probably be the most difficult to ever get a 4K release
Seeing it in 35mm was amazing. still the greatest theatre experience ive had
I saw this movie on an actual film print here in LA - it looked glorious.
Pulp Fiction, and Kill Bill Vol 1&2 need to be in 4K like yesterday.
Kill Bill would look amazing and they should go ahead and include The Whole Bloody Affair in a special edition 4K
Honestly if I had to pick one of his films to get a great 4K transfer it'd be Django Unchained. I think it looks great on blu ray but would be well served from the power of 4K. Great video!
PULP FICTION, JACKIE BROWN AND DJANGO UNCHAINED.

even though Hateful Eight isn't my favorite Tarantino film it was shot entirely on 70mm so I'd be really curious to see the extended version of that on 4k blu ray
Jackie Brown would be my top choice for QT film on 4k but really they all need to be on 4k.
Up until OUATIH, Jackie Brown was his most visually beautiful film for sure.
If I could only pick one movie in 4K from QT is pulp fiction , that is one of my favorite movie of all time.
Werd
Django blew me away

Sure I'd get the other 8 flicks on 4k but Pulp Fiction is the one I'm waiting for - even the bluray looked good on my 75" 8K tv
Love your content bro.

Inglourious Basterds is my #1 choice of Tarantino film for 4k. Great video, thanks!
Does it include both the original and extended release cuts?
I’d say Reservoir Dogs in 4K. The BD wasn’t that great and needs an upgrade.
Eric Kelly Just the original theatrical unfortunately at least here on the UK release. The extra footage is there but is presented as deleted scenes. Still my movie of the year though and is fantastic in 4k 👍👍
It's not my favourite Tarantino movie, but I think The Hateful Eight would be exciting in 4K.

Got the collectors edition lol.
just got this
Fast forward 2 yrs later, today, and it's on Amazon now for $13.50!
I loved all his movies but my favorite definitely is inglorious bastards. That needs to come out in 4k. As well as the rest of his movies!
I may or may not have gotten both the steelbook and special edition... I may have liked this movie :)
What a waste of money lol

Pulp Fiction in 4K

I bet this movie was a nice change up then. Loved this movie.

I own the collectors edition
Kill Bill the Whole bloody affair needs a 4k blu release and Grindhouse theatrical.
Dolby atmos is not necessary in every movie 🎥
Sami Debs yes it is
Kevin Lantzer believe me I spend more then $10000 dollars on my home theater and I have Dolby Atmos dts:x so I understand what are you talking about!
Still think it's too expensive to justify for most people. There's OLED TV's that cost less than some of the Atmos setups I've seen.

How about the digitals that come with the copys, is it good ?
There is a website that says wether a 4k is real or fake ...I use it all the time. Some are surprising.
Hey, this is super random, but do you know where I can the Blu-ray of Red Sonja? I'm having a hell of a time finding one (US), even on the Interwebs
I have read somewhere that there is going to be a 4-hour Director's cut. Do you know anything about this?
We are not getting the classics of Tarantino in 4K and we ain't getting old Kevin Smith movies in 4K either. There is a very simple reason for it.
TonyZi what’s the reason?
