Man… the shoulder issue is just crushing. I was so psyched to see you review this, and I’ve been looking forward to this figure so much since it was revealed. Mine is supposed to be delivered tomorrow, but I can’t lie and say a little wind hasn’t been taken out of my sails because of the shoulder issue. I wonder if heating the top of the shoulders up and trying to reshape them a little might help? I’ll have to see when I get my copy. But great review as always, man. I’m really hoping they’ll do Skull Knight, I can’t even imagine how awesome that would be.
Shf has been doing such weird things lately. The DBZ and Naruto lines are getting a lot of great engineering while Gufs gets some old shoulders that they’ve never even used before

What do you mean? Monkey D. Luffy has a terrible joint in the legs. The third-generation DBZ bodies have these awful cuts on the legs that break the design. From what I saw, this awful arm joint at least provides very good mobility compared to the classic butterfly joints in the lineup.
Great review. Quality control issues have been a recurring issue with Bandai action figures lately. They must improve because these errors are not acceptable given their price range
My copy was so bad leg fell off out the package hands wouldn’t lock in I was thinking it was a boot leg then I watched your review. For a 90+ figure it’s not worth it to me til they fix their QC fire and rehire those ppl at the end of the production line ain’t cutting it.
Got mine in today and I’m so happy to report that I don’t have the shoulder or crotch issues. I do wish they went with a ball peg at the wrists. May end up getting a Figma Dragonslayer since it’s smaller. Amazing figure & I’m happy to have it

I'm hoping that since I missed the import site preorders and had to go with BBTS that maybe some of the QC issues will be addressed. I'm not too worried though as while I like posing my figures, once I find a pose I like, they basically stay like that forever in the display. If I had all the time in the world, I'd constantly change my displays up, but...alas, my time for fun is quite limited! Thanks for being honest and making my favorite action figure reviews!
Got mine coming soon.. minor qc issue to me since i dont put any crazy poses for my figures. Looks amazing still and cant wait to get more info on future characters coming to the line

Excellent review! This figure looks amazing but unfortunately suffers from QC issues that hold it back from being a solid release. Tamashii Nations really needs to get their quality up, too many of their releases have been suffering from bad QC or questionable decisions that hold the figures back. I waited a long time for this one, skipped on Figma (not that it has issues) due to the price. Plus I always wanted one from Figuarts. That shoulder joint is a QC, check if you can a replacement. This not a common issue.
I got my copy of Guts yesterday and I’m simultaneously happy and sad to say that I seemingly don’t have any issues with the shoulders coming apart. Maybe you got a bad figure (which still really sucks)? But he’s just spectacular, although I agree that it’s odd that there’s no way to hang his sword on his back. That seems like an oversight to me. I haven’t shied away from trying some more extreme poses with the shoulders, but after seeing your video, I’ve made sure to avoid the kind of movement that seems like it would pop the shoulder apart, so like you said in your review, it’s still really useable if someone keeps that potential problem in mind when posing.
Nice review, have you realized that the left leg is kinda shorter than the right one. Standing still looks weird for me, other than that it’s a great piece for me. Love it!!!
Seeing reviews like this and the given track record I think crunch is a factor here and I hope shf gets off whatever high they're on and come back to reality. Especially with this being the one line they really can't afford to fuck up at all given it's recent history and such. I also hope next year is shf reflection year so later lines will get the treatment they deserve.
They were doing real well with other figures but I dont know why they went too close to the figma level of fragile joints. I got mine and its a beautiful kit but very much a one pose statue for me. Its too annoying to try to change it up. And theres no proper peg hole to make it stand because its very top heavy.
Great looking piece. You can tell that Bandai put a lot of effort in that department. However, that shoulder issue is a deal breaker, at least for me because I like to pose my action figures for photo shoot. With enough reports and enough support from the fans. I was introduced to Berserk through the SEGA Dreamcast Berserk arcade game and found the Anime and later read the entire Manga. Need to read the new chapters by the new writer. Shame about the poor choice of Joints used on this though.
Just had mine come in today and I'm left feeling pretty bummed out. the peg hands are the biggest issue. They can not hold the sword whatsoever and constantly pop off the peg. I have the griffith and berserk armor guts pre ordered but it I really hope they don't have similar issues.
Has anyone figured out the best way to fix the shoulder joint issue? Thinking it would help to add some width to the tip of the male joint using some mod Podge perhaps? Gonna be a little tricky though
I recently received my copy of Guts and I'm desperate. How do I attach the neck armor piece without damaging the ring where the cloak is inserted? The triangular part of the neck armor piece fits but the small ball very tight. I'm afraid if damaging the ring where the cloak is inserted...
Unfortunately, we will probably never see these… maybe Casca. Don’t think they would sell well enough to justify all the money to engineer and sculpt. I’m sad to say this, cause Schierke is my favorite from Berserk 😢

Tamashi Nations quality really questionable lately, this figure and Zoro figure looks so fragile that it really makes me worry about the upcoming Obito release. I've been waiting for Obito figure for a long time, I really hope they don't mess up the Obito figure.
I remember having a headache watching berserk especially that eclipse scene back when I was at my early teens. This figure has some odd engineering, wish they had the Dragon ball/Naruto team instead to work on Guts also that breakage on your copy sucks hope noone doesn't experience that.
Great review sucks that the articulation is wack. For me this figure will be replacing my threezero Guts that fell apart. Hopefully this one doesn’t too.
The design of the armor is always going to hinder some level of articulation, that happens with every armored character, outside the QC issues I think they did really good, far far better than figma
I own a figma and a shf, I gotta say the figma did a better job overall. The shf looks better but in hand it is filmsy, i hate the heavy sword with the small hand peg. Articulate the figure with the sword on is a pain in the ass. Lastly, the small revoltech shoulder joint is gonna split over time for sure. Had high hope, an L for shf.
Got mine in today and i absolutely hate the pegs they used for the hands. Such a dumb move. It should have been ball pegs. For a character with a sword this big. And the plastic used for the brown straps should have definitely been a soft plastic. It should not feel like its going to snap and break like yours did. I just dont understand how they made these dumb choices
i just got mine today, this figure was a disappointment lol way to start the Berserk SHF line with a bad Guts. the hand pops out of the wrist and the joint couldn't even hold the Dragonslayer with the design of the peg. lol
Hobby Genki jacked up the price to 14,350 yen, that's like 50% increase, even more than the new one coming in the future. 😅 The shoulder joints are such a shame. They could have gone with the same tried and tested from DBZ Figuarts. Kinda weird to see them going with straight pegs on the wrists too. That's mostly a MAFEX thing. I've seen other reviewers broken different parts of this figure too. It's more fragile than it looks.
The paint on this figure looks so flat and the details ar meh. Even on the griffith one, they only look good once posed on an angle but other than that I don't like how they ended up doing it. Definitely gonna cancel my order for this. Nice review btw! Thanks!
They should stop using that shoulder design, it is bad, unnecessary and it doesn't work. the new wrist peg is so bad also. Reviewers should really voice out the problems and the issues of this figure despite of the love of the berserk manga.

Tbh Id prefer getting Isirodo + Puck, Schierke, Farnese, Serpico, and Casca before other figures from Berserk.

Hes wont be out till the date they have on there. U.s retailers get the sh figuarts a couple months later from overseas release
