Yep, I've got 3 x 5000s and a 7000. I used to use the 7000 on my 12' carp rod, but it's now on my sea rod as I only use 10' rods now for carp fishing. These have been fantastic reels, and I know others have defected from Shimano and Daiwa to them too, mostly for Carp / Barbel fishing but I know someone who deadbaits with them and he's had some massive hard-fighting pike on his 5000, no bother at all. By far the best bait-runner I've ever owned or tried, leagues ahead of Shimano's. Only downside is the polymer material - it's not as forgiving as the old-school metal ones, it cracks instead of bends when your 10 year old lad slams the boot lid on them. I know it's personal choice, but for me, the 5000 is perfect on a 10' rod. They're slightly bigger than the Shimano 5500 but definitely superior.
would you recommend this reel or the SHIMANO - BAITRUNNER DL 10000 RB?
Really like the lol of theses fx9 might be going
Hi could you tell me which one would be better for the 10ft scopes ..would it be the 5000 or the 7000 Tia 👍
5000
Does anyone own a set of these reels?
