For Vikings fans in the know, JJ going down sucked but his going down did not impact this season's expectations. Darnold was always going to start for at least the majority of the season and it was supposed to be a transition year where we get the remaining dead cap off our books from Kirko and others. This success has shocked everyone outside of the building (fans and rivals alike).
