    Information from chat gpt 9:48 だから (dakara) isn't wrong in itself; it's just less formal compared to ですから (desukara). Both words express reasons or causes, but they differ in tone and level of politeness. Let me explain the key differences in more detail:
    1. だから (dakara):
    Meaning: "so," "therefore."
    Politeness: This is a casual connector and is commonly used in everyday, informal conversation.
    Why it could be inappropriate: In more polite contexts (such as talking to teachers, superiors, or in formal writing), だから may come across as too casual. It can sound abrupt or impolite if used with someone you don't know well or in a professional setting. For example:
    Casual setting: "頭が痛いから、学校を休むよ。" (Since I have a headache, I’ll take a break from school.)
    Formal setting: Using だから here would feel out of place in more respectful or formal speech.
    2. ですから (desukara):
    Meaning: "so," "therefore," but in a more formal or polite tone.
    Politeness: It's much more suitable for formal or polite conversations. This is especially important in Japanese, where showing politeness in certain situations is a big part of the language.
    Why it's better here: Since your sentence seems to be more polite (using です), it's natural to also use a polite form of the conjunction. ですから fits with the overall polite tone:
    Polite setting: "頭が痛いですから、学校を休みます。" (Because I have a headache, I’ll take a break from school.)
    Summary of Difference:
    だから: Casual, informal, more suitable in everyday speech among friends, family, or in casual contexts.
    ですから: Formal, polite, appropriate when speaking to superiors, in formal settings, or when you're aiming to be respectful.
    So, だから isn't inherently wrong, but ですから is more appropriate when aiming for a polite tone, which matches the formality level of the rest of the sentence.

    ありがとう! Your videos are very helpful.
    I have a doubt about the 19 question....why isn't に the right answer? (Or alternative answer). I studied this lesson from Minna No nihongo text book and i saw that after the period of time (2時間) the particle that follows is に. Sorry for my english because my native language is spanish. Thank you in advance.

    • @yogitaumavane6300
      @yogitaumavane6300 Год назад +1

      2時間 means "2 hours"
      2時 means "2 o'clock"
      The particle に can be only used with 2時 and に can't be used with2時間。
      ......
      Therefore ぐらい is used with 2時間in the video so it becomes " 2時間ぐらい" which means "about two hours". " 2時に" means "at two o'clock"
      ........
      " 2時間 に" which means 'at two hours" doesn't make any sense in that sentence.
      ........
      Hope this was helpful :)

    • @dmarcini88
      @dmarcini88 Год назад

      @@yogitaumavane6300 thanks for you answer. I was confused because in one chapter of Minna no nihongo koon say something like "time duration + ni + Frequency time..." For example " 1 jikan ni 1 kai blablabla" and for that reason i tought that in the example of Tomo sensei would be ni particle.

    • @TOMOsensei
      @TOMOsensei  Год назад

      '3時に おわります'is OK, but the meaning is different from '3時で おわります' . '3時に' means the exact time 'at 3 o'clock' while '3時で ' means that the time which has continued from the past continues until 3 o'clock(period of time).

  • @mounikak2039

    for the 18th question shouldnt the answer be に 。as に particle is used when representing time .
