When you get more funding, you can get an arial on your van that boosts existing 4G signal, and can even get you a bar signal when you are just out or range.
Not true man. The "booster" ariels do not increase the signal FROM the towers, all they do is send a stronger signal from your antenna to your modem (or access point). The only way to get a better 4G signal is to use the best antenna tech available and in the case of live streaming TO (not FROM) a web source, that tech is MIMO.
GivesAMinute ah ok. Maybe in a few years we’ll have fast worldwide internet via LEO satellites. I’m not sure whether I’m looking forward to that sort of tech or not.
Heheh! Yeah same here! But I did look into getting the most from 4G a while back before I began my live streams, so I'm pretty confident I have a good setup for anywhere I am near a tower :)

Hey Benon, my car is a full-time AWD, which is pretty similar to your 4WD. I’m not that equiped either, but I have done a lot of research into best practices while off roading.
When travelling on sand, tyre pressures are everything. Get yourself and air compressor and a tyre deflator kit when you can. When you go off-road, let your tyres down a bit so that the contact area is larger. That way you’re way less likely to get bogged. When you’re about to get back on the road, reinflate your tyres with the compressor.
If you do get stuck in sand, don’t spin your tyres. Get out and shovel the sand away from your tyres and slowly try to get out. You can even try to wedge a few sticks or whatever is around to help you get traction. Later you can invest in some 4wd recovery tracks that will give you grip anywhere.
Of course if you’re ever unsure of a section of terrain, it’s always best to walk it first.
If you’d like some recommendations on 4WD RUclipsrs I’d be happy to list some.
Good points Floyd :) I probably should have mentioned that SteVAN has a compressor built in so I can defat and re-inflate the tyres as I see fit. I guess the issue I had is more about confidence.
GivesAMinute yeah I’ve certainly chickened out of a few sandy places even if I knew my car could probably handle it, but tyre pressures really are king. Once you see a few videos of other people doing it you might gain a bit of confidence.
