Excellent driving style. I've seen many ppl driving their full fledged 4wds like a maniac. They always floored the throttle ; some traversing similar tracks as you did, ending up bogged down because their excessive use of torque makes the wheel spins out of control = no traction/digging a hole.
Thanks for saying so :)
Be sure to make a video if you end up lifting the van. I've got a 2017 KDH206R in aus and have been thinking about doing the same.
I’m planning a “suspension upgrade” video soon, just in the process of getting the parts together!
Will be sure to post soon, I think it’ll be within the next 3 months for sure :)
In the Philippines the 2 sliding door variant is the super grandia the hi ace is only one sliding door.
Yes this is a Japanese gl hiace, they came with two there, this used to have a rear bench seat in it too
I've seen this car run on muddy and worse terrain in Cambodia. With a little skill from the driver, this car goes almost completely fine.
I’m hoping to upgrade more of the components soon to make it even more capable!
2 sliding door for this hi ace?
Hi it would be nice if from time to time you upload a full vlog of your daughter or wife offroading in the hiace. Like in the same place in this video. Thanks.
Thanks for the video suggestion! I’m
Always open to new ideas :)
I'm a little confused by the different models of hiace. Was there a paticular year that they made a hiace with BOTH manual locking front hubs and the stronger turbo diesel?? Cheers.
Hi Dan, I’m not really sure to be honest, the 200 series hiace never came from factory with locking hubs whereas the 100 series did, there were companies here in Aus who convert the 200 series to be a proper 4WD (low range, locking centre diff and locking hubs) and these hiaces are well sought after!
Hey mate, looking at buying one of these bad boys! Having trouble finding insurance close to what I’ll be paying. Who are you insured with? Cheers
Hey, I’m using Shannon’s, they offer agreed value, but to get to the right value it does make the insurance quite expensive, let me know if you find a better alternative!
Nice video, where did you get the import done? Looking for a van myself atm
Thanks!
I used a company in Melbourne called Automobex, Imi had this one in stock already though, he may be able to bring more in :)
@@VanLyf Thanks for the info! Really enjoying the videos it looks great 👍
@@Greg-vg1pt thank you for the nice comment :)
Hi Mate, Is the 4wd and Awd the same model?
They only made AWD in the 200 series shape from factory, though there are some Real 4WD hiaces going around too
@@VanLyf Thanks!
Is it true 4x4 (diff lock) or just AWD?
Hi dune, they are just an awd, no centre lock or low range, they do however have a smart traction control system that will lock a wheel that breaks traction (works some of the time)
@@VanLyf Thanks mate it looks like the AWD will still take you a long way. I've seen people drive them on soft sandy beaches without any trouble.
@@dune7824 check out my beach video!!
is this the 1kd motor - or the newer 1Gd that has been going into Hiace's more recently?
Hi, this is the newer 1gd, the Japanese hiace never moved to the new Aussie “toaster” shape so they just moved the new engine into the exisiting body!
NOT MANY DIESAL GAS STATION IN COUNTRY AREAS
I’ve not really ever had trouble filling up in the country in Aus, are there not many diesel pumps where you are from?
Toyota why didn't they factory lifted the van am I right it's too low to the ground come on it's an offroader but it's too low to the ground WTF
Totally too low!
Good example , how to screw up the best model in the class .
Im having hiace 4×4 2004 model , looking to replace with new brand . Just frasrated , nothing as good , as my one !!!
Yes it is really a shame they didn’t continue the 100 series 4x4 system with low range into the 200 series, we did think about a 100 series when looking but wanted something newer with better economy over better off road ability! Have you seen the off road converted 300 series hiaces available here in aus? They use land cruiser prado suspension and driveline!
@@VanLyf
Is 300 available in official dealer toyota ?
What is the fuel contaption , what type of diesel engine ?
