I love how you can tell just how lethal she is from her body language. She looks so quiet and sad, but at the same time, completely comfortable with a sword in her hand. The man was dead as soon as she held it. He just hadn’t stopped breathing yet

This scene is so good. It's everything, the pacing, the lighting, the choreography, editing, the acting. Every part of this scene is so addicting to me
The best scene of the whole season, from one point she killed a bad man, from the other there is a pain from taking a human life, that’s what the Witcher is about - the world is not black and white, it’s grey, I wish there were more of such things shown here or with Renfri in s1, absolutely loved it

@@impersonal6650 Ciri is from a battle gifted lineage. she is not human. she is somewhere in between. it really doesn't take to much to learn sword fight techniques. Geralt trained her as his daughter. its not unbelievable that a Elven lineaged could kill a human, they are after all faster and stronger. Ciri just had enough training that she didn't have to fight for her life.
Her grandmother would be so proud of the warrior she became!

She looked so good in this scene! The hair flowing, the slo-mo, the lighting, it was awesome.
I know everyone hated on the show, but I liked it
Best part for me is that she is fighting and kills him, but she isn't really there; she's in her mind trying to process what happened to her, also thinking about having to take a life and grieving because of it, plus considering what is she going to do next now that she is free; she ain't really paying attention to the enemy in front of her and yet completly destroys that poor guy haha.
Exactly, which is also what lowkey makes her so lethal and terrifying at the same time when she's checked out like this. She's literally completely disassociated especially in this moment in the show, and somehow still able to multitask and kill this guy with absolute ease, literally as they said "playing with him" even though that's not her intention, but she's so badass that it's perceived that way. They really did their thing with this scene and her acting as top notch. Pure chills.
It reminds me of Frank Herbert's description of Bene Geserit in combat - how they were utterly relaxed - which made them esp. terrifying.
Honestly Cirilla’s journey with the rats might be the only reason I watch the next season.

Exactly! Might be worth watching if they do the Bonhart storyline well. I'm hoping it's the case since I think the Rats introduction was one of the highlights of S3

Such a great fight scene, she was trained by the Witchers in season 2. She killed before by accident and now she does knowingly. She is now lost, believing Geralt and Yenneffer have failed her and left. She has become Falka, her darkest version. Falka and the rats will be quite a journey next season.

Not sure calling herself Falka was all about being dark. She probably didnt want to tell them her real name. In the book ToC, she is afraid of them knowing that Nilfgaard is after her, Kayleigh promises her he won't tell the other Rats.

A few problems with this season but i love the lighting in this scene. Shes got a massive light on her, shes almost glowing. Its the brightest shes been lit the whole season and its her darkest moment where she choses to kill someone where she doesnt have to.
It's beautifully shot. It's nice actually being able to see the characters rather than having to squint lol.
I know everyone hates this season, but the music and the camera work and the lighting was FANTASTIC. The colors were so beautiful and bright.
Not everyone hates it. I enjoyed it. Did I enjoy it as much as the first season? No. But I still liked it. I just wish Cavil was staying on. It won't be the same without him.

This scene was well shot and the acting was very good because you could tell thst Ciri was very dangerous before she even got that sword.

Where were these moments earlier?!? These two fight scenes were top tier and the best ones besides Geralt’s in season 1 Ep 1. So frustrating what they did to this show.

This was the best season, it set up all this stuff for next season, and Henry won't be there. Goddamn it.
But one reviewer said they might get away with it because the focus will shift more to Ciri now, as it does in the books. I don't have high hopes, because Geralt will still be so integral to the story, but we'll see.
I really liked this gang. Epsecially that girl with the locks. Her design is cool.
As it occurs to Lauren to put a nice relationship between Ciri and Mistle instead of what happened in the book, I'm going to consider her a complete coward

So I always love when film makers add in very little details that at first watch we miss. For one her eyes. At the beginning they are the "Elder Blood" color but through the fight they fade back to light blue. Second after she stabs him and he falls the sword still vibrates to the beat of his heart.

In the book's Lambert and Coen training Ciri in Kaer Mohren. Geralt only trained her on the road when they're looking for Triss.

No the Law of Surprise doesn't change her blood or looks. It's just a messed up tradition in this world, sort of like Trial by Combat proving someone's guilt in GoT, that people believe in (that it makes a poor child destiny linked). She is Geralt's because Geralt chose to care for her.
But she fights like him because she adores and admires everything Geralt, and is trained by him.

Yeah and that’s only with a couple months of training or a year or 2 I cannot remember the time between season 2 and 3. Imagine what she could do in season 4 she doesn’t even need the potions like a Witcher she is practically already enhanced due to her elf and mage bloodlines. She is going to be even more ruthless next season and yes I will be watching only to see where she goes on her journey now.

People who like this scene wont read books, know shit about ciri and should start reading. In books Ciri here still cant force herself to kill human(for cultural gigachads who read book like me, we should remember that one of ciri character traits was she even through terrible things hesitating to kill. She wont kill scoiatael, wont kill Cahir when she can and wont kill skomlick here in book mistle kill him.) Ciri in books was kind of innocent from kaer morhen untill thaned, her first human kill was in haste on horses when she run with rats and ciri almost puke herself after(btw mistle here was one who bit understand her after this all) and not gonna say how terrible are rats portrayed here. In books they wear colorfull costumes and elegant weapons. Here they look like bunch of thugs that leave poor fuckin infantry while stealing garbage from army and mainly:they were kind of handsome, while here we see this. on top of it Ciri here like psycho killing skomlick! She torture man to death, she was like bonhart here! btw rats battle proves are terrible, in book mistle herself take down 3 mans and manage on knees counter two by herself, here she fight like Uruk from lotr with one guy entire time while in books she was total mvp in that tavern. 0 Out of 10 they ruined both ciri and rats
I prefer it this way. It's better for TV. If you're so insisting on judging it via the book, you'll have a million more problems like IIRC, she was never even captured in the first place. The series is just loosely based on the book.

I just love how her body is angled away from the man a lot, like she can't bear to see the pain she inflicts and with the final stab she has to look him in the eyes whilst killing him and seeing the pain that causes her is so heartbreaking and yet beautiful.
100% they captured basically who she was to who she is now symbolically in the angles of how this was shot. Everything before this moment was, she kills and hunts monsters but humans etc that mean no harm is not her memo or what should drive her and it's why earlier in the season she couldn't come to terms with killing someone who had inflicted so much emotional, mental and physical harm to her even though nearly everyone would agree he deserved it. Versus now, she's going against the foundations of what she stood for (not her fault clearly) but regardless of intention, she's taking away a life and that's super heavy, even in defense. She is no longer the same Ciri from this point on, and that's why the scene after this she's super quiet and pretty much in a state of shock and grief for that innocence that no longer can exist after this. It's also symbolic of why she chose to take on another name, it's like she's broken into another fragment of herself. It's a beautifully captured moment and beautifully acted by Freya as well. Super powerful moment as the trajectory of her life and path now has completely changed.
