Does anyone notice that whenever she is tumbling there always seems to be more screams from a couple people in the audience. And I mean like whenever she does anything even when she did the switch leap they screamed for her
what I love about her is not only hher consistancy and her friggen talent, but the fact that she has flair. i mean that shes one of the few gymnasts that actually has a signature move that shes run with for years. it makes me smile every time i see her do her illusion through to head spring, and the illusion on the beam. im like, ya thats chelsea.
What a electrifying performance full of gravity flips, killer dance moves. This is the most exciting floor routine I’ve ever seen. So much energy. What a fantastic gymnast.
If only she hadn’t been injured at the Olympics, she could have been floor champion! Her balance beam was also a work of mastery and could have served well instead of Sacramone… but you can’t reverse time. Her leadership role today is wonderful to see.
I am so looking forward to what she will do with the program. I really hope she turns things around and I couldn’t think of a better person to be so close to the athletes and to know what she’s doing!! ChellYeah!!!
@wheresyourheadatt Shawn's passes were still more difficult (whip to triple is actually worth more than a double double), and Chellsie (I'm sorry cause it will offend) has a lot of form issues. She flexes her feet all the time, and has leg crossing on twists and seperations on her double pike, layout and front layout. Shawn doesn't look very elegant, but she had impeccable form and technique. I think it's because of the coaching styles.
back in the era of 10 skills, gymnasts sometimes had to count easier passes like a front full or double full to get 10 skills counting. she had planned on upgrading the pass
Was the double full on purpose? :/ Choreo wasn't great, but I love her signature move haha. The one at 1:22 all the way to the other corner, she's done that for forever!
what's her start value? because you would assume she'd be scoring a bit higher than a 15.6, considering shawn (although she had the double double) was getting 16.2's all the time. chellsie's passes are really difficult, and she consistently hit them.
He said she doesn't have the endurance that she will have come Beijing...which is not a judgement of her current endurance level at all and doesn't even insinuate that she doesn't have endurance at the moment. He was also paraphrasing her coaches, so he's not the one who decided endurance was an issue...
Super late response but if you're still curious she's from Wisconsin and she's currently trying to make a comeback for another shot at the Olympics after an 8 year break from gymnastics. She has a channel here on RUclips documenting that journey and it's a wonderful watch.
It's literally only named after her because she was the first to do it in World or Olympic competition. For example, Simona Amanar's performance of her eponymous vault is hardly among the best. (The Code of Points thinks Memmel's name is "Chelsia Memmel", however. Nellie Kim seems to be too busy pretending she invented everything in the code to actually fix it.)

Michael Hout she had a team of supporters from her hometown there watching her so that’s probably where the screams were coming from haha.
In the video from the olympic trials from that year you can see them wearing tshirts that say “chellsie rocks” actually
I love her double twist. She flares her arms out at the end and 😍
I’m so glad she’s making a comeback to next year’s Olympic Games in Tokyo! always had a crush on Chellsie Memmel😍😘❤️💍🌹👊🏾
So do I. By with the speed that skill. By how amazing and outstanding it looks.
@@matthewkretschmer7010 Chellsie is always amazing😍👊🏾💍🌹
I can’t wait to see Chellsie perform at the Olympics! She’s going to kill it! She’s so cool! 😊😍😘💍👊🏾🎸 #WifeGoals #TheBae

I just wish we could have seen it in Beijing- it could easily have won.

ChellYeah!!!
@@keljellsexactly. Her, Alicia and the other folks who are a part of today’s team will build a much safer environment for the girls to compete in.
I love that thing she does in the middle of her routine
Totally almost picked that as my floor music a few years ago. ^_^;

bernardmvella double double is worth more than a whip to triple
she always hits!
love her
she's a gorgeous gymnast.

I agree
Love the coreography, too.
Dizziegillespie0123 There wasn't any choreography
Awesome

Pretty glamorous skill moves.

But Tim is still an idiot
Best FX ever.
Was her 4th tumbling pass a tripple full? or a Double?
@l8rg8r13 gymnasts must perform both forward and backward tumbling in their routines.
smile honeyyy!!! you're fantastic!!!!
@vesperholly that's right
holy!!!!!!!
@soapygirl83 yes to a double arabian (tucked), actually.
She always got hurt at the wrong time
It's tragic. I hope she doesn't get injured this time around.
Whip triple isn't worth more... its the same
Double ...
uncalled for
@AmericanIdolStar yeah now that they limited to four passes she could probably get a breather now lol.
Where is she from?

hahaha Al says she doesnt have the endurance ad she nails the routine with a 15.6... idot lol
dang why don't those screaming girls shut up, they almost ruin the routine for me
Funny how Chellsie Memmel has the worst memmel turn out of anyone.

not bad
I do love her but that choreography was terrible. Nothing but posing.
Point your feet! Its making me sick!
