I hear you man, whenever I played this game I just got to the beach and did nothing but make Ty swim, for me that was very fun. Also I remember my brother started playing this and he was already so far ahead of me. xD
Doctormario4600 Hey, the Krome Studios are remastering all of the Ty the Tasmanian Tiger games on steam! If you wanna check it out, they've released 1 and 2 is in greenlight.
THIS GAMEEEEEEE and how I found it from memory: old PS2 or Xbox game You possibly play as bipedal dogs? You get to drive a jeep around a huge dusty track in one of the missions One mission has you clearing alligators out from the sewer system explosive boomerangs It must have been 12+ years since I played this and here I am all grown up with my full time job thinking about an xbox game. What a time to be alive ladies and gentlemen.
I'll be honest here with most people here, this was the first ty the tasmania tiger game I've played when I was young. And now that they are bringing the first one to the switch, and I have this game on steam. I really hope they bring this to the switch. Because I really enjoy 3d platformers such as banjo kazooie, crash bandicoot, spyro, and a bunch of others as much I enjoy this game.
I love this game! I used to play it as a kid but my little brother ended up throwing a tantrum and breaking the disk. I started thinking about it again and just today I bought from eBay Ty 1 AND 2! I've never tried Ty 1 so I'm excited!
I'm sure you'll like it! Ty 1 is a fair bit different than the sequels, in that the game is comprised of individual levels rather than an open world, and there are a select number of collectibles to be found within each level. So it's a lot more like Banjo-Kazooie or Spyro in format. Ty 1 is definitely my favourite of the series for that reason :)
The original Ty will forever be my favorite.💖 How did you like it? I see it's been like. Years since you commented this but I figured id ask. 🤣 The first time I played Ty was back in 2002 I was only 3 years old. I still have the same disc to this day and I play it with my 3 year old son on my old Xbox 360 even tho it has a small crack in the disc. 🤣 Ty 2 is super bad ass also, I got it the year it came out for my birthday (i think I was 5) and I played the shit out of it until Ty 3 came out. Ty 3 is an awesome spin on it all too, but some people say they didn't like it as much cuz it's kinda diffrent. But if you're as big of a Ty fan as me you'll probably love it also!
When I opened this up on Christmas morning it was one of the best moments of my life, mostly because I loved the first game and this one did not disappoint.
I used to love watching my brother play this on the GameCube... Shame I was too young to understand how to play And I can't get over how Aussie it was 😂😂😂
thank you thank you!! one of my childhood favorites, ty 2 was one of the only bonding experiences i had with my brother when i was younger. still one of my favorite games today! my brother and i got to the very last boss but our controller broke, so it was nice to finally see the ending years later!
This game took dead serious weeks, maybe months for me and my brother to complete as kids, we never had any idea what we were doing. If you told 10-year-old me you beat it in less than a day, I wouldn't believe you for a second, haha!
When I was young, times where I came across Gooboo Steve, I always wondered what he meant by "THEM". (Also saying they're purple) Then many years later, I realized that he was heavily hinting the Quinkan, which explains the 2nd ones secret ending that forwarded to the 3rd game. I loved the brief foreshadow they give.
this game was such a jump from TY 1 it really put me off completing it as a child but now i’m gonna sit down watch this all and bring back the nostalgia factor i have for around the first 2-3 hours and finally see the ending to this game :D
Finally getting to playing this myself... it's a lot better than the first one to 100% for a video because the picture frames aren't so difficult to collect. Still, I would hate doing this without being able to use your video for guidance.. so thanks once again.
Good on you mate. No worries, glad my expertise can be of help. :) Only problem with 100%ing this game (and Ty 3 by extension) is that it doesn't keep track of how much stuff you've collected in an individual area, just from a game-wide totals perspective. So if you're gonna follow along with the video, make sure you compare your totals count with mine whenever it pops up on screen, to make sure you haven't missed anything.
@@Doctormario4600 Thanks! So far so good (although I did forget one of those construction workers the other day around the 1h mark in the cave.. sneaky!) Glad to see you're still active. Would you say Ty 3 is easier for recording purposes? It seems to be a much more linear game and also mostly beat 'em up
It feels so long ago since i played this. I never beat the game cause i was too little to understand what the objectives were. I almost forgot about this. All i needed was that music to kick in and i instantly remembered it. Good times. And apperantly the first Ty is getting a remaster on the Switch? Thats dope.
omg :( ! i really miss this so much! i played when i was 8 but now im 18. its 2017, i can't believe im having my nostalgia back again. this is so cool! :(
+ZeeReeGee Yeah I see what you mean, Ty 2 does have a very different structure than the first game. Personally I think it works great, although the first game will always be my favourite :) Ty 3 came out in 2005, and it follows in the footsteps of Ty 2.
Oops, didn't know my reply button was disable. It seems like too much of a hassle trying to get everything. And the opal spending... Too much Ty do this, Ty do that. What is the point? Who cares about rescuing the small ppl? I know it's probably to add side missions but man, in the first one at least you knew what objective was. To get the talisman and take down Boss Cass. Here, you get lost into all the commotion. You sort of forget about Boss Cass. I remember Ty 1 like it was yesterday but Ty 2 was pretty vague. The only thing I remember was the cart-racing and the new rangs.
I agree that the side missions feel pointless in the grand scheme of things... rescuing a bunch of sheep on a farm has nothing to do with stopping Boss Cass from taking over the world lol. Which is one of the reasons I like Ty 3 a bit better - the majority of missions in that game have some sort of relevance to the plot, with a few exceptions. Still, for me it's about more than just the story. I love Ty 2 because it mixes up the formula by changing the structure of the game, but also keeps the quirky characters, funny dialogue, great soundtrack, exploration factor and beautiful Aussie environments like the first game had. In addition to all the new boomerangs and the Cart Racing like you mentioned, I think it's great fun. Although I will admit Ty 1 is the best. :)
+Wilddog73 You're very welcome :) The requirements for 100% are as follows: - all 44 Missions (including the unlisted ones) - all 30 Kromium Orbs - all 30 Bilbies - all 50 Platinum Cogs - all 175 Picture Frames - all 25 Koala spies - all 10 Gooboo Steve hiding spots - all health upgrades (i.e. the Gold Paw & Platinum Paw) - 1st place on all Kart-racing tracks - all Boomerangs purchased (including the ones from Sly's Shack)
Doctormario4600 Yeah, I couldn't even finish Ty 3. I feel like they ruined what I loved most about Ty. Too much action and violence for a family-friendly game. That's what made it popular. This and Spyro. I guess they couldn't compete with the Buzz Lightyears, lol

Yes! The next childhood game found. I remembered that there was an animal that fought with boomerang and could enter mecha/robot suit and this is probably this game. Now I need to find a game where as I remember, you play as some kid with helmet on head and a mace as a weapon and there was a part in some forest with floating lands(?) and with golems, that were disassembling themelves when you tried to hit them. EDIT: And I've found that game. It was Tak 2: The Staff of Dreams and he wasn't wearing a helmet and those golems were just blobs.
This is quite a Video Game Sequel. Like the 1st one, I've been wanting this PS2 Game for years. I noticed the Frilled Lizards are Back. "One of them is a Good guy Lizard. Plus, some Bigger ones. Known as an Uber. Including another Green Uber Reptile." & There are More Crocodiles then before in the original. "The Albino ones are new". Fluffy The Thorny Devil has returned. 1:24:28 Oh my gosh, It's An Ankylosaurus. There must be some Dinosaurs in this Game.
This was such a great game. All these games now have these big worlds with complete emptyness but this game is the exadt opposite. theres so much greatness in this game
I just finished watching the this video. This game and Kingdom Hearts was so bad ass and still is. I honestly did not know there was going to be a third game till I saw the last clip of the dream world.
God I feel so old watching this and I'm only 20. It feels so long ago I almost forgot this game existed

Only problem with 100%ing this game (and Ty 3 by extension) is that it doesn't keep track of how much stuff you've collected in an individual area, just from a game-wide totals perspective. So if you're gonna follow along with the video, make sure you compare your totals count with mine whenever it pops up on screen, to make sure you haven't missed anything.
