Spyro would be good, but I bet you already plan on doing that one. You could branch out a bit and check out the Bloody Roar series! It was a really fun fighter with a goofy animorph gimmick. I always wondered what happened to that series.
The fact that Ty was able to raise not one but TWO successful Kickstarters to rerelease the first two games on modern consoles shows that he could EASILY have an amazing comeback. He needs the KAO the Kangaroo treatment.
@@coochie8670 I have to respectfully disagree. I think the reboot succeeds in almost every department, without being anything extraordinary. It is a good game, even if is still far from being a masterpiece.
@@gonzalot.605 I'm glad you enjoyed the game, I really wanted to enjoy it myself but after playing the demo it just felt off. The voices of the characters felt like they didn't match, and the gameplay just didn't feel smooth to me. Just happy that KAO is getting more recognition though.
I'm not exaggerating that I say that Ty 1's levels made for one of the most atmospheric games that I've ever played, only rivaled by Breath of the Wild. Thank you for this fantastic retrospective on the first game series that I ever played!
I'm just gonna be honest, as an Australian this game and the series make me really really fucking proud. Seeing so many people outside of Australia knowing about and loving a game born and bred here is such a great feeling. Hell, I remember back when I went to Melbourne's ACMI as a kid and saw the stop-motion zoetrope with all the Ty characters, it blew me away, since it was so great seeing something I recognised as a gamer in reality - and I'm sure some international fans would have been the same way back then.
Well as a 11 year old from Texas back im the day I used to LOVE THE SHIT out of Ty 2. Had it on my gamecube as a kid and man I really loved it. Tbh I dont think I ever finished it or got far I would just explore the world around me it was definitely a highlight in my childhood
Wow. I saw that same stop motion display when I was a kid, tho I thought I saw it at the exhibition center. It was super exciting 'cause I had played Ty 1 for the first time just a few months prior.
Ty the Tasmanian Tiger was actually one of the first games I was gifted when I got my PS2. It's a game that has stuck with me for two decades, and I'm so glad that it's getting more recognition now!
Same here its well loved and It was my first owned game. I played it so much that right now I can pull the soundtrack into clear memory long after not being able to play it
i find it absolutely hilarious that thylacines are well known for being able to open their mouths a full 120 degrees, but ty, sly, and fam are constantly grimacing and talking through their cheeks
In fairness for Ty, in his biting animation he does open his mouth super wide for it. It's just that it's only for a split second so it's really hard to catch.
I think its even funnier in the original you can see with Sly there is like a slit for his mouth that isnt on Ty so it makes him look like hes got an underbite or a massive nose
Ty deserves one more good chance and one more good game with people While I mostly had the 2nd & 3rd games that i happily dumped HOURS into as a kid, I've seen plenty of those whom have such a love for this series and it genuinely is a fun time to have
What I love about this series is that it may not be groundbreaking or anything new, but it doesn't try to- it's just a charming platformer series that you can tell the developers pour their heart and soul into.
I have to be clear. I never comment on videos, but when I see this game get recognition it feels like seeing my childhood friend on TV. Ty the tasmanian tiger will always have a special place in my heart and I appreciate the coverage bro. 🤙🤙
I'm one of the folks who was lucky enough to have the original TY be a part of my childhood, right alongside those like Jak, Ratchet, and Sly. Thanks a ton for giving this series a chance and waving it about in front of folks who might've never heard of it. I'll admit it's been a long, long while since TY was on my mind, but I've got more than plenty of fond memories with him and I'm glad to hear that Krome is still alive and apparently still so passionate about all this.
Crazy timing, I recently started a job at an indie VFX company down here in Sydney and after working here for a month I learnt that some of the older guys I work with actually worked on this game, they worked at animal logic as animators for the prerendered cinematics, crazy meeting the people partly responsible for making games that began my journey as a game developer and inspired me from the beginning!
FUN FACT: the 'dreaming' place ty's parents go to is actually a terminology used in aboriginal culture(native australians), it is a place of ancestral beings and involves connection with spiritual power.
Not going to lie, Ty was my first real experience learning about Australia and Australian culture. As an American, I’ve been referring to the toilet as the dunny pretty much my whole life now. It introduced me to a whole new way of life, so similar yet so different. I have been studying Australian history for years and to this day, I keep up to date with current events, and I am very close to submitting a job application to a job in Brisbane. With Bluey on the air it occurred to me recently that my daughter very well may have a similar experience.
Oh god TY 1 was one of the games i loved as a kid. I never put it down on the ps2 and was one of the first games i actually %100. TY is such a goofball and i think adds to the charm of the game.
Oooh, the memories of playing Ty 2 - I was so amazed by the giant map, the different biomes and cruising along the beach (to the east I think), was some of my favourite memories - what a fun surprise to see this
I am HUGELY passionate about speedrunning Ty 2, but speedrunning the series as a whole has been getting a surge of popularity (relative to what it was like before, it's no Mario 64 or anything) so it's been awesome that the casual gaming world is also starting to appreciate it more. It's been so underrated for so long and always been top tier for me :) Also worth mentioning we have an entire category "Steve%" where the goal is just to find Gooboo Steve all 10 times ASAP as we bow down to his infinite wisdom and power 😂
Steve% actually sounds pretty interesting, he's got some good hiding spots. I'm kind of surprised 100% is only 2:42:33 I would have thought all the collectables would take _much_ longer, but I guess that's why i'm not a speedrunner.
This is gonna sound a little silly, but I feel like you could show a little kid who LOVES Bluey (an Australian cartoon that has blown up in popularity worldwide in the last couple of years) this game and they'd love it - both Ty and Bluey are unapologetically Australian, and I feel like kids now would appreciate it more than some did 20 years ago.
@@Rexdrinksredbull I was just thinking that. I feel like half the reason I live Bluey so much is because Ty was my first video game ever and I never stopped being obsessed with it.
Bro, what is it with RUclips showing me all these awesome channels I haven't heard of before that are posting EXACTLY what I want to see? I love Ty so much, can't wait to watch this when I have time! Edit: Holy crap, that intro got me so ridiculously hyped. It's such a good feeling to see my favorite series from when I was a kid getting all this love so many years later! These games really deserve it, and it makes the possibility of a fifth game feel more possible than it ever has.
Fun Fact: I heard about this guy on Bitchute back in 2018. Yeah, some creators actually went towards bitchute for content when youtube wasn't helping the new creators get a jumpstart into their platform...Man how the days have changed since 5 years prior.
@@SuperFlashDriver That's so wild, I'm really glad that RUclips has at least seemingly gotten better for some of these underrated content creators who really deserve a hell of a lot more attention. Weird to think of a time when RUclips wasn't necessarily the best place for that kind of thing!
Im so glad Ty is making a comeback, this was the first game i ever played and it shaped my childhood. Ive been praying for a new game for over 10 years and thought there was no chance but seeing videos like this of bigger youtubers talking about my favorite childhood game gives me so much hope❤ thank you so much for making this!
Thunder eggs are a real thing!! I only just learned this a couple weeks ago. They are stones that can grow a bunch of crystals inside. I had only ever heard of them while playing this game, so I was really excited to see that they are real gemstones
As a kid one of my aunts gave me the trilogy for PS2 as a gift. Most of my memories are with the first game as I got stuck on one of the first missions in the 2nd and would basically just always get lost in the 3rd.
This series is honestly something special to me, 'cause alongside SpongeBob Revenge of the Flying Dutchman, Crash: Wrath of Cortex & Spyro 3. Ty 1 was one of, if not my very 1st games I ever played! So seeing these games become relevant again in recent years, it's truly amazing to see! And being given the chance to finally play Ty 4, is gonna be interesting for sure. While I still find some enjoyment with Ty 3, and oddly enough I recently found out a couple months ago that Krome actually put in a post credits scene teasing the next game at the time. I did wind up shifting views & came to the same opinion that Ty 2 was the best game in the trilogy, while still enjoying the others just as much! Also, there was apparently a TV show in the works when Ty 2 released. Since it was long believed to be cancelled, I asked Krome themselves about it on Twitter a few years ago, and this is what they said - "We stopped trying to find a distributor for it because there was no interest for it at the time and we moved on to other projects. Nothing to do with EA or Activision, It's just that TV networks were the only options back then." It's sad it didn't come to fruition, but it's an interesting piece of Ty history regardless. So here's hoping a Ty 5 can finally happen someday! Awesome video by the way! :)
Flying Dutchman was one of my first games as well! I remember the construction site being crazy frustrating! Shame about the Ty show, honestly. Didn't Tak and the Power of JuJu get a TV show adaptation around this time as well? Heck, they were throwing around ideas for a Kingdom Hearts TV show too! Almost makes you wonder where video game media would be had more of those actually panned out.
@@qrowing Tak actually got a show shortly after the 3rd game released. As for Kingdom Hearts, it has been reported that a show was happening in 2020. But no other updates as far as I know. I never played Kingdom Hearts, so I don't really keep up with it. Whenever I do hear about it, it's usually from VTNVIVI's channel. :)
I think TY 5 following 1's formula would be the best option with current trends. Keeping the old boomerang system would be safest for combat, but I think they should go the ambitious step of giving every minor enemy diplomatic immunity to spice things up.
Personally, I think the combat should be a mix of Ty 1/2 and Ty 3. Give us separate buttons for melee and ranged attacks, with some kinda combo system that lets you chain them together seamlessly. Actually this just sounds like Devil May Cry with more platforming.
I got Ty 2 as a lend me down from one of my cousins and will always be a personal favorite game of mine as I spent hours exploring and collecting everything the game had to offer. Anyone I ever see cover Ty will always bring warm feeling to my heart as I also see them becoming fans of this game as well.
This channel is criminally underrated I havent even watched this video and already know its going to be a banger. This guy only puts out quality Edit: Just finished watching it. Did not disappoint. Tons of great facts and history of the game, the game studio, and the industry at the time.
I really loved this series growing up, and I don’t think I realized how special it was that I was even able to play it as a kid. But it’s really something that people don’t talk about- but I remember enjoying the story, gameplay, and visuals a lot
Ty was my first game EVER! I was so little I didn’t even listen to the characters say I had to get enough thundereggs to go to the next zone. I thought it was like when I watched my brothers play megaman/mario and just reach the end of the level so I never saw beyond the 1st three worlds. Coming back to the HD remasters has been so satisfying that I finally 100%ed them!
I had Ty 1 for gamecube, and for the life of me, I dont know how I got it, but I remember spending hours in the island level just trying to go past the boundary an glide from island to island as well as the river down the tree. It was just a cool place to explore!
i remember as a kid playing this on the PS2, the thing that stood out for me was just how impressive and clean the water rendering looks with the flora. to me it was so vibrant
Glad this game series is getting what it deserves by a golden bolt video. Ty 2 was a huge part of my childhood and I go back to the re-release on steam semi often for my nostalgic needs. Krome was underrated.
This game is such an absolute gem and I'm so happy to see people still talking about it and covering it. I played it as a preteen, I played it again in my late 20s and it's just as good as I remembered.
Fun fact: Back in, I think 2013, Krome Studios tweeted that they wanted TY to be in PS All-Stars. If another was made, somehow, I wonder if they'd still be down for TY to join.
I grew up with the original and never knew that there was more. You never stop in bringing illuminating and quality content. Definitely a RUclips hidden gem that deserves much more attention.
WOW, WHAT TIMING!!! I actually JUST bought the games on Steam a little while ago, and I've been having fun playing it. I'm halfway through the game already reliving through my childhood, and seeing this pop up in my recommended feed is something else! I'm going to have fun watching this. :)
As someone who played the original game on his old PS2 as a kid back around the time it came out (and got the remaster of it on Steam six years ago), I thank you for doing your part in exposing this series to more people. I never really _beat_ the game my first go-around, though-- just found cheats online, got to the later parts of the game early, and didn't have a fair playthrough until I got the remaster. It was certainly a good way of exposing me to Australian culture, however. As for the other games, I just never got around to picking them up the first time around, but I intend to do so with their remasters at some point, even more so after this video reminded me that I still have to. I realize you didn't have the most glowing appreciation for TY 3, but I'll get it anyway, if only to further support Krome's future efforts. They still seem to believe this ol' thylacine has life in him yet, and with their Kickstarter successes and the ongoing platformer resurgence, I kinda can't blame 'em. I may not be a fan of this series the way I am with Sonic or Ratchet & Clank, but it still had a hand in my formative years, and I did wind up playing some of Krome's other projects (their Legend of Spyro games and Blade Kitten, namely), so I'm certainly rooting for their future success.
I was the only one of my friends who ever played this as a kid. I remember the first one very fondly. I'm gonna go back and play the remasters now and recommend them to my friends. I can't wait to see where this serious goes. My little nostalgic heart can't take it.
Talk about an underrated series with a dedicated dev behind it. So much charm and enjoyment they always made me smile. That said, I know I'm gonna freak the hell out when Ty V gets announced.
I remember driving home from the gamestore with my dad and seeing my best friend on the street as we near our house, I remember putting this up against the window and him coming along to play it together. Good times.
I've been putting off watching this for a while (No real reason, just had it on my watch list and never got around to it). I'm glad I finally watched it though since I did learn a fair bit about the series, despite loving the series (Well, the first two games anyways lmao), and still having the PS2 versions of them, I'm glad that TY is getting some love again, a classic game that's hella underrated and could be so much more. If we do get a true next TY game, it could be so much more considering how far technology has come in the last 15 or so years. Here's hoping they are working on something new for him and here's to further hoping it'll be amazing. Thanks for the video Golden, ya helped me learn more about a series from my childhood. Keep up the good work.
Ty two and three are the games that hold the majority of my childhood gaming memories. Sitting half a foot away from our old crt, feeling the cancer causing screen snap and crackle as I curiously run my hand across the screen for the 100th time. The feeling of my legs losing circulation from sitting crisscross applesauce for 4 hours straight. Ugh what I wouldn’t do to go back it time even for a day…
I absolutely adored Ty when I was a kid. It was the first GameCube game I actually beat, since as a child I'd gotten stuck on a lot of other games. I remember blasting through Bush Rescue and Night of the Quinkan and loving them both to bits. Glad to see someone talking about these games. They were for me what Banjo-Kazooie was for so many others.
This made me very happy. I always adored this franchise. Never played 3 in full or 4 whatsoever, and I think that if Krome can get a fifth game that they can do whatever they want, and I think I will immediately buy them on digital storefronts because this franchise is so cute and wonderful.
Super fond memories of this game. I didn't know people hadn't heard of it. This and The Dog Island were probably the two biggest games of my childhood, neither of which got very popular at all.
Thank you for covering a very old game series in my childhood, it says a lot when even at 6 to 7 years old I still vividly remember Ty and Sly despite how simple they are and the gameplay loop just being incredibly fun, boomerang combat was such a novelty and even to this day I still remember the messy sfx mix it had. I spent an actually unholy amount of hours as a child just bearing with my terrible sense of direction (that I didn't know I had at the time) for all 3 games and I still somehow made it to the finish line, and now that I know there's Steam remasters I may get them one day once they're on sale, I want there to be a Ty 5 and see this franchise become something bigger, which is what it honestly deserves.
I am so proud to admit that I am an OG Ty fan. I remember seeing it on shelves when I was young and I absolutely loved the game. So happy to see it getting some love.
I picked up Ty as a rental from blockbuster in 2004, later i got the 3rd game and played it for hours and hours on my ps2 growing up. This game keeps a special place in my heart
I'm not really into platformers, but I admire and respect the tenacity and passion of the devs to keep their project alive. Even better, to see it become more and more successful as the years roll on. Happy for the devs! They definitely earned it!
I remember playing this as a little kid, but ended up losing it somewhere along the way, and thought this was just a game I made up in my head because I never saw anyone else talk about it
Makes me happy to see the series getting so much love. I grew up shouting SUUUUUUIEEEEEEEEEEE and none of my classmates got it. but more than that, it left an impression and that part about "we want american kids saying Aussie slang" couldn't be closer to exactly what happened.
i have such good memories of the first ty game!!! we grew up with the gamecube version and i loved the music and characters. i didn't even know there are sequels til i found the remastered on steam a couple years ago! 3 was still in early access but i immediately bought 1 and 2. it's so fun being able to return to that childhood and have more to enjoy as well. we had so much fun with ty i found it weird learning the game's not more popular
Ty had been a part of my life when I was just a kid and now being an adult and being able to replay this passion project has my hopes up that well get more.
This is fascinating! I may have heard of Ty.. sorry, TY.. before but had no idea about its history. But I'm also someone who still wants to but hasn't played some classics like Sly Cooper and Ratchet & Clank. Great work buddy!
I do love how ridiculously Australian tye is. As someone who lives in Australia, I love how it feels like I’m playing a game in the places I grew up in. It’s not a masterpiece, but the character of it all is what makes the series special
I rented TY from a movie gallery back in the day and it was love at first sight. Such a fun game to play with memorable characters and funny dialogue. I later got all three original games for GameCube and still have them to this day. I bought HD remasters on switch and managed to be a backer for Bush Rescue. Just from the dev updates on the Kickstarter you can really see their passion for TY and the love for their fans.
Crazy I just looked this up on RUclips and you just made this great video about it and I have never heard of your channel before. Loved this series as a kid growing up, just barely felt a little nostalgic about it.
Ty 1 was one of the very first games I with my PS2, and the whole series has a very special place in my heart. Ty, Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper, and Kingdom Hearts defined the PS2 era for me.
This was fascinating and an absolute treat to watch. Your research and production value here are outstanding! That being said, omfg I LOVE this series. I've dumped countless hours into Ty 1 & 2 on console (I have Ty 3, but didn't play it much partially because of the hack and slash combat, but also partially because the original console version is SO dark sometimes I can't see what's going on) and I also played the life out of Ty 2 & 3 on GBA (a GBA version of Ty 1 doesn't exist, to my knowledge). I picked up the HD remasters of both Ty 1 and 2 on PS4 the day they dropped, and I got Ty 1 again on Switch. These games were some of my absolute favorites when I was growing up, and it was weird that no one else I knew had even heard of them. It makes me really happy to see Ty's resurgence over the last couple of years, and to watch people experience Ty for the first time in all his aussie glory. Here's to Ty 5!
As a kid I loved the 00s era of platformers and had several of them, but TY 2 was always my favorite. It might be twenty years late but I'm glad to see the series finally earn some wider traction.
I actually played the first Ty the Tasmanian Tiger game when it came out and I remember it being a really decent platforming game with some actually good content like the racing minigames. I had no idea it went on to have more games down the road. This is definitely one of the rarest gems people overlooked with Kao the Kangaroo and Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg being extremely rare.
THANK YOU for bringing more eyes to this series, especially with the remasters coming out somewhat recently. This was one of the first games I ever got for ps2 as a kid, and a favorite. I've always thought it was a shame how little attention it ended up getting. I didn't even know there was a potential Ty 5, or even a *resurgence* happening! I thought the remakes through kickstarter were going to be it, so I haven't kept my eyes on the franchise
This channel keeps covering all the games I played as a kid and letting me know that somehow my parents bought me the less recognized, less successful titles that were actually kinda golden. Except R&C, that was recognized and my all time favorite.
Great video, like you I’ve seen these games but never have them a try. After I finished this video I picked up Ty 2 and have been loving every minute of it.
Ty 1 was the first game I ever owned for the Playstation 2 and now I desperately want to get it and Bush Rescue for the Switch! These games are fantastic through and through even if they aren't the longest ever, and if you're from Australia and you're reading this, you should 100% be proud! 😁👍 Y'all made something that was a huge part of my childhood
Good job on your retrospective, I've been going back and seeing how people have felt about games I've played in my childhood and of course I had to look up Ty, you definitely nailed all pros and cons and similarities with others games very well. Really enjoyed this.
every year i'll pull out my old xbox original and play the TY the Tasmanian Tiger series. My fav being 1 but the 2nd being great to explore once again. It's a great game, the controls were good, great music i still remember to this day, the characters were cool, and it is by far one of the most unique games i've ever played. I hope i can play them again in a remastered version and if it exists i've heard nothing about it. Truly a gem of the older video game eraa.
This series does not get enough love. I'm Australian but I grew up most of my younger years overseas, and as a result this series kinda was the Australian stereotype exposure that kept me attached to my homeland in a way. But beyond that they're just solid as games that in my personal opinion outclass the competition of the era.
I was telling my husband about this game, because I just realized after watching this the first time that the game shared the nickname his parents gave him.... and not once did it click in ten years. I remember reading about how the game was made in Australia in a gaming magazine. Had to be Nintendo power, though I remember picking up a nother magazine here or there so can't really remember... I actually remember loving the game. The Sonic style of the main character caught my attention, and I loved how the slang didn't feel... stereotypical? My only real exposure to Australia outside of the game had been crocodile dundee, and people quoting it, paroding it....yeah.... Get the same vibes from a kids show called Bluey as I got from this game. Even if my only exposure to the Ty series was the first game, charming is definitely the word I'd use. Had no clue it had so many sequels! There's a whole lot I missed when I entered the workforce in the height of the recession. The fact I know I filled a sketchbook full of characters from the game at the time shows it stuck with me for a while at least. I lost most of my drawing books in moves and this was sadly one, but considering the only other series to get that level of love were Mario, sonic and Zelda..... that really says something, too.
I never grew up on this game, but I recently found out about it after realizing there was a game based around my favorite animal. Bought the first game on my switch, beat it, and loved it enough to buy and complete the second game. Thanks Ty for getting me through my freshman year of high school and giving me a peek into Australian culture. Edit: I actually ended up 100%ing both games in both normal and hardcore difficulties because I liked them so much.
If I were to revive TY it'd be first game mechanics and style, but the hub and cast of 2. I really enjoyed the fact that TY has this ridiculously large cast of original characters who dont do anything. They're just all unique and weird and that makes me smile.
I remember renting this game a bunch before ever owning it and it's pretty nostalgic for me. Random fact, this was the first game to make me start using the analog stick; up until that point I was still just using the D-Pad in every game, but specifically remember being surprised when Ty wouldn't move and I had to use the stick instead :P
I loved ty so much as a kid! To me it was always right up there with Ratchet and Sly, but looking back, i think i was the only kid who actually had it. Guess i was lucky my dad had a talent for picking out games
This video was absolutely phenomenal. Fantastic work, my dude! I love it when a video makes me realize things I hadn't before about media I enjoyed as a kid, it really puts things in a new light and makes me appreciate the good parts even more!
What a blast from the past. I nearly forgot about this series, but this video unearthed memories of playing Ty 2 on Xbox when I was in elementary. Never beat it, because I just wasn't very good at paying attention to dialogue and the like, but the charm definitely left an impression. I'll wishlist the remakes. Probably worth checking out.

@DarkNinja yeah we have an emote for that frame of the bite animation in the Ty speedrunning community called TyChomp & it's gold
Bros got a point
@@caged3249 why have I never considered there being a whole speed running community for ty!!
Ty deserves one more good chance and one more good game with people
While I mostly had the 2nd & 3rd games that i happily dumped HOURS into as a kid, I've seen plenty of those whom have such a love for this series and it genuinely is a fun time to have
They're bringing out a new game for the nintendo eshop. It's 2D though. I would buy it, but I don't own any nintendo devices!
@@DissonantSynth TY 4? that's a couple years old now im pretty sure.
@@Viesta no, it's not that. It's a different game. Perhaps it's not Ty-related. It was on their twitter.
What I love about this series is that it may not be groundbreaking or anything new, but it doesn't try to- it's just a charming platformer series that you can tell the developers pour their heart and soul into.
Can we all agree, TY has one of the most relaxing theme songs for a mascot platformer.
@@thetoondevil 😎😎😎😎😎
I have to be clear. I never comment on videos, but when I see this game get recognition it feels like seeing my childhood friend on TV. Ty the tasmanian tiger will always have a special place in my heart and I appreciate the coverage bro. 🤙🤙
🥹🥹🥹😭😭😭😭
That's cool! Do you know their names and roles they've played during the game's development?
It's been so underrated for so long and always been top tier for me :)
Also worth mentioning we have an entire category "Steve%" where the goal is just to find Gooboo Steve all 10 times ASAP as we bow down to his infinite wisdom and power 😂
That's nuts and I love it.
I played Ty when it first came out. It became one of my favorite sires growing up. It even inspired me to even go to Australia a couple years later.
Watching this great video while playing my Remastered Ty the Tasmanian Tiger on PS4! Good times, good times indeed!
Thunder eggs are a real thing!! I only just learned this a couple weeks ago. They are stones that can grow a bunch of crystals inside. I had only ever heard of them while playing this game, so I was really excited to see that they are real gemstones
yup they're also called geodes. I collect them and they're beautiful to look at.
Yeah. They even got names.
Based on gem type.
My favourite is Milk Egg...
Nothing to do with EA or Activision, It's just that TV networks were the only options back then."
It's sad it didn't come to fruition, but it's an interesting piece of Ty history regardless.
It shocked me as an adult, knowing that people hated on Crash Bandicoot Wrath of Cortex when it was a banger little game
A true immunity community
_"Break the Geneva conventions in Ty's latest adventure!"_
Also add New Zealand as a new place.
They should add the Emu Battle Royale
@@gonzalot.605oh yes....
I got Ty 2 as a lend me down from one of my cousins and will always be a personal favorite game of mine as I spent hours exploring and collecting everything the game had to offer. Anyone I ever see cover Ty will always bring warm feeling to my heart as I also see them becoming fans of this game as well.
Ty is a game i grew up with and i'm so glad you covered these games, they get overlooked way too often !
This channel is criminally underrated
I havent even watched this video and already know its going to be a banger. This guy only puts out quality
Edit: Just finished watching it.
My dad and I bonded over these games when I was younger and it always brings back good memories, thanks man ❤️
I'm glad I could help resurface some good times! Thanks so much for the support, my friend
i remember as a kid playing this on the PS2, the thing that stood out for me was just how impressive and clean the water rendering looks with the flora. to me it was so vibrant
PS All Stars was one of the biggest crossover fumbles ever. It sucks we couldve had something great
I grew up with the original and never knew that there was more.
I remember driving home from the gamestore with my dad and seeing my best friend on the street as we near our house,
I remember putting this up against the window and him coming along to play it together.
I fondly recall playing Ty games on my grandma's GameCube in the aughts, awesome classic platformer!
Ugh what I wouldn’t do to go back it time even for a day…
I loved this series so much as a kid and I'm so glad the studio came back to redo this
I absolutely adored Ty when I was a kid.
The original was my first game I ever played and set me on the gaming path. Great memories and wonderful game.
This has been by far one of my favorite series since the first game came out. I absolutely love this series and I love collectathons in general.
I picked up Ty as a rental from blockbuster in 2004, later i got the 3rd game and played it for hours and hours on my ps2 growing up. This game keeps a special place in my heart
Ty's soundtrack is phenomenal
I'm not really into platformers, but I admire and respect the tenacity and passion of the devs to keep their project alive. Even better, to see it become more and more successful as the years roll on. Happy for the devs! They definitely earned it!
I remember playing this as a little kid, but ended up losing it somewhere along the way, and thought this was just a game I made up in my head because I never saw anyone else talk about it
Golden bolt is the goat, he always know how to tap into my nostalgia
when i was a kid this was the first game i ever fell in love with. that’s so cool they remastered it
Makes me happy to see the series getting so much love. I grew up shouting SUUUUUUIEEEEEEEEEEE and none of my classmates got it. but more than that, it left an impression and that part about "we want american kids saying Aussie slang" couldn't be closer to exactly what happened.
These games were my childhood, and it puts a great big smile on my face when someone talks about them.
i have such good memories of the first ty game!!! we grew up with the gamecube version and i loved the music and characters. i didn't even know there are sequels til i found the remastered on steam a couple years ago!
This series was one of the biggest series of my childhood! And the possibility of its return excites me greatly
Except R&C, that was recognized and my all time favorite.
loved playing this growing up. It was as much as a staple as Ratchet and Clank, Jak & Daxter, & Sly Cooper for me
Great video, like you I’ve seen these games but never have them a try. After I finished this video I picked up Ty 2 and have been loving every minute of it.
This game was my childhood, I’m so glad it’s getting recognition
Ty 1 was the first game I ever owned for the Playstation 2 and now I desperately want to get it and Bush Rescue for the Switch! These games are fantastic through and through even if they aren't the longest ever, and if you're from Australia and you're reading this, you should 100% be proud! 😁👍 Y'all made something that was a huge part of my childhood
Good job on your retrospective, I've been going back and seeing how people have felt about games I've played in my childhood and of course I had to look up Ty, you definitely nailed all pros and cons and similarities with others games very well. Really enjoyed this.
When I saw the kick starter for TY 1 I instantly backed it. I’m so hopeful for a 5th game it would be such a surprise and welcome addition!
5th? I thought there was only 3?
@@MrBob-nt9gx There's 4 main games, Krome has been teasing ideas of a fifth game for a while now.
every year i'll pull out my old xbox original and play the TY the Tasmanian Tiger series. My fav being 1 but the 2nd being great to explore once again. It's a great game, the controls were good, great music i still remember to this day, the characters were cool, and it is by far one of the most unique games i've ever played. I hope i can play them again in a remastered version and if it exists i've heard nothing about it. Truly a gem of the older video game eraa.
thank you for shedding light on this series. it is one of my favs.
This was my first game for my ps2 and holds so many good memories, I’m so happy about the come back
“This game is piss easy”
Child me: gets stuck on the shark boss because he’d never seen jaws
Ty 3 was the first platformer I've ever played, still have fond memories of playing the first few levels and the go kart mini game.
If I were to revive TY it'd be first game mechanics and style, but the hub and cast of 2.
I really enjoyed the fact that TY has this ridiculously large cast of original characters who dont do anything. They're just all unique and weird and that makes me smile.
I absolutely loved the first game as a young kid. I absolutely loved finding things and the accents and characters
Ty is still my favorite video game character ever. Hoping for more ty games in the future!
These games are absolute classics and it's awesome to see the remasters coming out for them!
Yesssss. Ty the Tasmanian Tiger was one of the best ps2 games. Always thought those cinematic were so amazing.
can't tell ya how many hours I've put into this series. I LOVED IT
Thanks for making an awesome video on it!
