Thanks so much man 🙏 I'm very familiar and a fan of your content! I considered shaving the heel a bit, but don't want to resort to that so early on! Gonna try them with a few different liner/heel pad combos first!
Awesome videography. I really enjoy your content, skating is 🔥 but the video angles and the explanation of the tricks and the many skates and hardware you cover are great. Thanks for dedicating your time 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
If I'm gonna dedicate my time to anything, it's gonna be rollerblading! Haha. Thanks for the always awesome encouraging words man! You know I appreciate it 🙌
Very good video. Try the Omni with different liners. I’ve tried them with intuitions, blank v2 and reign v3 liners. The blank and reign are very comfortable in the Omni. The reign v3 locks your heel in without any pressure points on the heel. Same with the blank v2 but the blank doesn’t lock your heel as well as the reign. With the intuitions it squeezes my heel too much and my feet starts to cramp. I tried different combinations with the intuitions and they were still tight in the heel. I’m not a fan of intuitions and they only work with maybe a couple skates I have. The Omni is definitely stiffer than I expected but it offers good support even with the cuffs a little loose. Wished the cuffs were a little more flexible other than that it’s a really good skate.
I didn't have any issues with the mesmer heels feeling narrow personally. Then again, the sizing for mesmer compared to the omni is vastly different. Mesmers run much bigger.
Lets try a tru miz....... full cabs out clean af 😅 Great insight tho I'm excited, really hoping they fit! Looking foward to spacious negs and sloped souls
🤣🤣🤣🤣 feels weird NOT to full cab out of a tru miz, like the trick isn't done correctly without it! Thanks for the awesome words! I could see myself trying SO many weird negatives in these 🤣
@@THEBLADINGCODE Ok cool I'll look out for the part 2. I'm just thinking depending if the heel in the boot tapers or something, getting at the right heigh could possibly fix it. Nice review!
I have very little experience with Them skates, unfortunately. They've never been a good fit for me, so I can't give any useful input on that, so sorry 🙏 I THINK the small shell fit is close to a nsxs Them. But I would recommend your own research.
Thanks for the first impressions of this skate. I am uncertain on sizing myself. I could probably downsize into the medium 8-9 shell with my Intuitions but I need my insole too. I can downsize into the 8-9 Cult without the insole but that is a much narrower skate so I figure if I can do that then I should in theory be able to get into the 8-9 Omni.
@@THEBLADINGCODE Following up with my original comment to say that I could not skate the 8-9 Omni. I think the overall volume would have been fine but it's definitely too short and my toes were touching the end. I am happy with the 10-10.5 size though which feels very similar to the 8-9 Razors SL and Genesys which is perfect for me.
Thank you! I've already decided to do a follow up video trying a bit of a different set up to reduce the "heel burn" I kept experiencing. So be sure to keep an eye out if the Omnis interest you!
Try the SL cuffs, The Genesys cuffs were terrible for me because they have those wings and dig into my ankle on fishbrains, the SL cuff is perfect and super supportive on topsides.
The omni cuffs are rivets. They aren't replaceable without drilling them out. Which, I'm not interested in doing that much modification. I'd rather get a good feel for the skate in its original form. My daily drivers are SLs, and I love them.
@filipmartinez1162 ohhhh. Sorry thought you were saying try SL cuffs on the Omni's. I ride the v-cut razors cuffs on my SLs. I would ride the stock cuffs but they don't line up well in the back with my v-cut intuition liners.
I haven't tried the sway yet, but from what I know it works well for wide feet. This boot seems to work well for wide feet as well, other than the narrow feeling heel. I'm going to be trying a few different liner/heel pad set ups soon to see if I can make the heel feel better
I'm currently using intuitions with the new usd sway team 2024 boot after skating on the chris farmer pros and all star sways. Skate feels super solid due to the upgraded boot with most of the forward flex nearly gone. I'd strongly suggest the combination.
I’ve heard people mentioning that different colored plastics in the same model skates have different flex and grind speed but haven’t been able to find any info about that. Ever think of testing out those theories or have you even heard of that?
I have heard and experienced this with other skate models in the past. I have thought about ordering a white omni shell to test this! In my experience, white or light colored skates tend to have a little more flex than dark or black skates. Not exactly sure the science behind it, but I've noticed it before.
@@THEBLADINGCODE my qualms with mine when I tried em. And I hated his numb royales felt. But... I did love the shock absorber!! I definitely did some 10 ft tall drops before I sold my pair. On god. I sold em and grab cult 6(the skinned trooper razors)
@kevincollins8620 cults are unfortunately too narrow for me to downsize in! Which is important to me, having the shortest boot possible for control. Cults are also just a little too stiff before they're broken on, and I like to go right to %100 skatablity right when I take them out of the box. SLs definitely scratch that itch for me.
@@THEBLADINGCODE Truth! I do feel cults take a while to really break in and connect best with the foot. If they bring back skinned cults I'm sizing down as I can toe cut the cults and ride out if toe cut. I think my size 9 easily did the 6-7 shell. It did skate much better!
Great review! They heelburn is not because of the skate. It is because of the Intuition premium liner which is padded too much on both sides of the heel. In the SL or the Them-Skates you will not feel it because these skates have shell sizes like a mailbox...😉
Good review. Don't use the intuition shock absorbers tho. It's soft and not a good quality. You lose energy in strides. The 2 pairs of shocks that come with the standard omni's are 2 different hardnesses. One pair for big wheel skating and one pair for aggressive skating.
Thanks for the info! I definitely want to try a different shock absorber setup. Thought about just trying both in hopes that it would lift my heel enough to avoid the heel squeeze and burn I experienced in this session.
ufs remz, latest classic thrones and 2nd gen genesis all of them had counter-angled souls like this or even more. Even some SL (guess cause of poor quality control though)
True, I've skated all of the above. But I can say it feels "sharper" than any of those. Calling it a "new design" wasn't exactly what I meant to say in the moment.
I skated remz for many years, while they both have that "slope in" towards the frame, they definitely feel very different. The omni has a much "sharper feeling" edge that you can feel, where as Remz had a more rounded feeling to them.
@THEBLADINGCODE true, remz also only had the heel slopped...watching your razors vid right now, the soul groove is the complete opposite (very nice) so will be good to get your thoughts on these vs that....if that makes sense lol

The main thing that bothered me was the heel "squeeze", I couldn't skate them as long as I wanted because of it. I think I'll try adding the other shock absorber and possibly a different liner soon to see if it changes anything.
@@THEBLADINGCODE the two different shock absorbers are different hardness. One is softer than the other. I dont think its meant to stack the two shock absorbers together.
@Dnk328 they seem to stack together well, they're slightly different shape. But you probably know more about it then me. I went in completely blind with very little knowledge of the skate on purpose.
I have seen that the shocks can be stacked and are designed to be singles or doubled up… could be wrong like 😆 I like they’re cheap with Shell only, I’m sure they’ve flown off the shelves
It definitely effectively keeps the liner from getting any lift. The narrow heel may not cause discomfort for most. Just commenting on my initial experience.
