It's obvious that Piers Morgan already had a preconceived notion of what Jediism is, and thus attempted to silence these Jedi likely out of fear that they actually had valid perspectives that he couldn't accept as a possibility, much less accept that this is the truth that is honored by all Jedi. Jediism is similar to Taoism. I doubt the hosts would be so rude to Taoist priests or followers. It originated in ancient China and its scripture is the Tao te Ching, one of the most translated books in the world. The Force is the Tao, the unified field, the Akasha and the ocean of consciousness.

the whole idea of the jedi religion that George lucas thought off derives from the buddhist religion and other earthly cultures with a sci-fi twist to it ofcours. Therefore you can actually practice jediism in real life when you have an understanding on how it works. There is a group of people that take it too a whole new level by involving alot of acting and sword fighting and pretending to use the force, While also adhering to the way of the jedi code.
the force is based on god but him as being an energy pool, pure energy with a mind and a will. the force is being seen as the most dominant power in the universe by jedi, in fact as being seen as the ruler of the universe, like zeus was being seen as one by the ancients. its debatable whenever the force has a core or not, but anyways if george lucas makes it appear as it ultimately having a core in the end, than we can assume that the core that emits the force is its lifeforce that the jedi can tap into.
