History is all good...BUT the question is if there is an other moon mission will OMEGA be again the watch NASA will choose....and if so why not? If not, then what will be the other competitors?

I love the speedmaster pro, but I think there are too many editions of the speedmaster. I do believe they should have 3 variants, the pro with solid case back and plastic crystal, the racing model and a special edition, a bit more bad ass, larger, with more complications and sapphire. All of these three editions exist, all the others are, IMO, a bit to many.

OMEGA has slipped dramatically to what it once was. This idiot is saying on record that Omega doesnt know how many made.....why buy one....I recently bought Speedmaster Apollo XVII LE and I was stunned to find out that there is not central registry for even special Limited edition watches like that- what a shock and a come down for collectors, and a turn off away from OMEGA

Well their pioneering spirit to develop the ultimate space watch lead to the Alaska Project and eventualy to the X-33... The Alaska Speedmaster didn't make it to the Moon but was used by the Russians aboard Salyut-6 in 1978 ! Check: MoonwatchUniverse

Haha here is the CEO admitting he has no idea how many Speedmasters were made... I guess companies should also 'lose' pages and pages of records to create the same aura.
