Very informative channel, thank you taking the time to share all the information. Can you speak a bit on how welding affects artificial aging? I am needing to weld on some 6063-T5 tubing(roughly 4mm thickness), but I am unsure of how the heat affected zone will be changed.

I appreciate the comment but unfortunately this will require a very complex response which I can't really do without really going far into the weeds and that's a little deeper than even I am comfortable going. My best advice would be to consult with a certified metallurgist and ask them before proceeding, again, thank you for watching and the kinds words. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Any videos on bending and machining different aluminum alloys?

I'm not sure I've got that on aluminum. If this video format would work I could apply the same for certain grades of aluminum vs the one pasted here I did earlier on stainless. Lmk if this might work. I could try, no guarantees but it's a possibility. ruclips.net/video/Dzq4e8Z3I1g/видео.html

@@MichlinMetals Yes, something like this would be helpful. I am building an experimental airplane from a kit and it uses 6061-T6. This is great for strength, corrosion resistance and machinability, but lousy for forming. I have made a few misc brackets and up to 0.040” it can be bent 90 fairly well, but when you try to bend 0.060” or thicker, it is very easy to crack it. I’ve heard the “bend radius must be at least 2X the thickness” rule of thumb, but it would be neat to know if more advanced things can be one in a typical small shop. For example, can the 6061-T6 be annealed in a home oven, formed in that state, and then returned to a T6 state in a home oven? Or does this require special furnaces and chemicals or such?

Would anyone have any knowledge of the antimicrobial properties of 6061-T6 with a mill finish?
I am wondering if it has any natural biocidal properties or if it requires some sort of treatment to be antimicrobial.

Hello sir, I have a (TOCE exhaust) pipe on my motorcycle. I looked up what type of metal it’s made out of. And it said “Chemically Certified 6061-T6 & 6063 Aircraft Grade Aluminum” so I was wondering. Can I blue this pipe? You know how people take a torch to blue or (anodize) titanium for a blue effect? Well since you’re knowledge on metal is extensive I just need some answers if it’s safe for me to do this? And if I can, would I be able to take a torch and do it? Or would that be a terrible idea and try a different method of anodizing? You said “6061 & 6063 anodizes well” but would heat be a safe method to do it? Thank you for your time sir.

Anodizing aluminum is an electrochemical oxidation and any color is achieved with a dye. You cannot do it with a torch. Hope that helps!

Aluminum is not blued. Can't be done.
      Only anodized and spray painted.

Just use visual help as ppt, videos, tables or something cuz watching a person talk to the camera makes people feel uncomfortable.
