7075 T7 would be used over T6 only when stress corrosion / stress corrosion cracking is an issue and for some reason a clad plate would not be desirable. Hope that helps!
Necesito usar Google Translate porque no se las palabras correctas en espanol. Aqui Esta: Tratamiento de solución a 870 grados F seguido de enfriamiento rápido con agua Envejecimiento endurecido a 250 grados F durante 24 horas
Easy answer is no. Generally you see T3xx in the 2000 and 7000 alloys like 2024 and 7075. 6061 and others in the 6000 alloys you only see T4xx. T451 would be the applicable temper designation for this alloy in a stress relieved naturally aged condition. Hope that helps.
@@MichlinMetals Thanks! i had to call the customer and mention the callout. He asked me where i got that and i answered "your print!". He had that revised fairly quick to T6
Do you know what the most common type of aluminum plate would be found at say a hardware store? I'd like to make a flag mounting bracket for the back of our Harley-Davidson and I've learned a homemade method of annealing it so that it can be worked but I'm not sure how to bring some of the tensile strength back into it after it's finished. I'm not sure if annealed aluminum would hold its shape in this case without putting some strength back into it.
Jeff, You would be much better off with a commercial flag mount or one designed for boats and then adapt with brackets to your Harley. Hope that helps!
@@MichlinMetals Yes that's exactly what I had in mind to do except that most of those flag mounts with a round stainless or aluminum base mount onto a tubular luggage rack or similar. I'd like to make a small bracket that attaches to the same bolts that the back rest bolts to onto the backrest bracket and then comes down into a U shape and also utilizes the bolt that holds the back of the seat down mainly just to help with side to side movement, basically just stabilizes it somewhat and I'd like to add a slight angle to the bracket to angle it back a little. The idea is to mount that round base to this bracket, those flag bases have a bolt that goes up through the bottom in the middle.
@@MichlinMetals I've seen where some people make a homemade flag mount and attach it to that single bolt that goes through the rear fender that holds the seat down in the back but that's too much stress on the fender and that small bolt just using it by itself like that. I think I can come up with something better. I don't have any kind of luggage rack or fender rack or anything like that so on a bike like this you're limited to where you can mount those flags. They do make one that bolts to the side using one of the fender strut bolts but we have saddlebags and besides, I think it looks kinda goofy there.
Thanks for the comments. Glad you liked Arnold! He makes another appearance here: ruclips.net/video/blM_GH1wsO8/видео.html Again, appreciate you watching and lmk what you think of his second appearance. Have a good day!
Great videos!!! Thank you for sharing.
Appreciate the kind words. Have a great New Year and thank you!
What properties differ from a 7075T6 vs a T7? We are using 3/8 sheeting. Strength, wear resistence?
7075 T7 would be used over T6 only when stress corrosion / stress corrosion cracking is an issue and for some reason a clad plate would not be desirable. Hope that helps!
