I have strong opinions about classic fashion truths - one of which is this: Any garment that fits your body well and hangs just right is bound to be one of your favorite pieces. Color/style/print… none of those are as important as FIT! I think almost all of your pieces are a testament to that 🧡

I think it's good to know what clothes you love and want to keep... Sometimes when decluttering or doing a refresh you may have an urge to go extreme and might end up getting rid of clothes you'll later regret not having anymore 😢 it happened to me. I should have listened to my gut.

I've done this a few times and it always sucks to realize you got rid of a gem. Now when I'm decluttering I make a pile of stuff i may want to keep, try it all on and reserve some space in storage bins under my bed for things I might want later.

I still have clothes I bought in like 2013-2015. As long as they are in good condition and I still like them, I’m going to keep them. Also I love finding vintage pieces in my mom’s closet, things that she bought like 20 or 30 years ago, some of them are really special and cool.

i have unfortunately learned i can never say never because if i get too impermeable stains or unfixable tears, i have to get rid of things i really wanted to keep forever... and of course there's also things that don't fit anymore. it always hurts to say good bye to something you love because of wear or changes in your body.

Puff sleeve tops fit your vibe, personality, essence, energy, whatever you wanna call it!! PERFECTLY!! You’ve really demonstrated the concept that when a piece of clothing really compliments YOU, your personal style and energy, it will come across as timeless. I can’t even really fathom that puff sleeved tops aren’t a classic basic because of how much it looks like one when you wear it

Some of my favorite/most worn clothes are pieces I thrifted in college and over the last couple of years! But my most special pieces are the handmade sweaters I've managed to thrift. My great grandmother used to knit and crochet when I was a kid (before she passed), so finding someone else's handiwork in the thrift store always feels special to me. Plus people always ask me where they're from or if I made them whenever I'm out and I'm so proud to say I've thrifted them. Love this video idea Alexa❤

It's short sleeved and gray with Victoria's Secret down the side. I've had it for 20+ years and it is the most comfortable nightgown I own.

Yep. The satin Betsey Johnson slipdress I found for $3 that is my favorite color and somehow fits me just right even though that never happens. I’ve had it 7 years. Plus I literally wore it at my wedding so now I know for sure I’ll never get rid of it.
I have this black vintage tie-back top with a triangle shape and these embroidered flowers on it that I thrifted for $5 12 or 13 years ago. I still wear it basically every day I possibly can when it gets warm. It hasn’t ever been in style so it won’t be out of style- and it ties in the back so it doesn’t matter what my body’s up to. So yeah I’m never getting rid of it.

Tbh, majority of my wardrobe will fall into this category. I've spend couple years now reevaluating and learning what I'm not or what I am wearing, why I'm wearing it and what looks good on my body type (discovering Kibbie also helped a lot although it also has it's own issues I'm not ok with) and curating pieces based on that. I mostly stepped away from following trends and aesthetics and just stay inside lines of what I naturally gravitate towards and I know I've liked and wore for years. I do have few holes to fill mostly in shoes/bags department but overall I'm really pleased with where my wardrobe is at this point

I have some amazing thrifted pieces in my wardrobe but I have to be realistic. My weight can fluctuate wildly and so no piece is truly "safe" in my closet 😆
That said, I have pieces I purchased over 20 years ago that I have kept and wear when my weight allows. I have a black velvet dress with embroidery down the side that I bought new in 1999 (my new years dress to bring in 2000). I have worn it several times over the last 20 years (most recently in 2021). I have a pair of Wrangler jeans I bought in 2000 that I still have. I bought them for work when I was working on a ranch and have kept them because they are just the most practical work pant. They were a super dark wash once upon a time and are now the perfect worn dark denim. I have a faux fur electric blue hat that I bought in the winter of 2000 that I still wear every year. I live in a super cold climate and it is an amazing cozy piece to wear at -30C!! These items were all bought brand new....
Of my thrifted pieces, I thrifted an amazing vintage Danier leather blazer for $2.50 over a year ago. That will stay in my closet! I have several thrifted vintage blouses that I will keep until they wear out. I wear them to work regularly. I thrifted an amazing 90's skirt & jacket suit designed to look like the 1960's. I will keep that one!

all of those clothes just naturally didn't work on me anymore, I use to only shop at forever21 and would buy stuff that never made me feel confident or happy so I think just over time I had those pieces go to others that would wear it and I think it shows that from 2017 until now I've really been buying more pieces that are truly me and have worked throughout my style changing. 4 year old clothing is not old at all but what I wore in 2016 is DRASTICALLY different than what I wear now and I think at that time I didn't feel anything for those clothes as well versus me now valuing a lot of the pieces I buy now as shown with everything in this video haha
