Buddy, if it wasn’t for you I’d be stuck in an office job hating my life. Now, I’m stuck in an office job hating my life but I’m playing magic. Thank you lord wubby.
Ry. You're amazing. Best editor in the game. The little golden sparkles before the treasure appeared? What a cool little detail. King of subtle, clever edits. You make these videos even more fun to watch.
While you're correct about having all the Urza's lands with an everything counter, it's good to know that they are also all the basic land types. This does allow you to tap it for any color.
@connorconway8700 if a land gains a basic land type, they gain the ability to tap for the color of that type. Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth is a good example of another card that does this.
@@connorconway8700 305.6 The basic land types are Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, and Forest. If an object uses the words “basic land type,” it’s referring to one of these subtypes. An object with the land card type and a basic land type has the intrinsic ability “{T}: Add [mana symbol],” even if the text box doesn’t actually contain that text or the object has no text box. For Plains, [mana symbol] is {W}; for Islands, {U}; for Swamps, {B}; for Mountains, {R}; and for Forests, {G}. See rule 107.4a. See also rule 605, “Mana Abilities.”
Only discovered this channel a few days ago because of Penguinz0 and man, this EDH playgroup’s vibe is the best and most enjoyable that ive seen so far here in RUclips. Love you guys🔥👌🤌🏻
You are correct about The Typing, the Urza's lands only care about seeing the type of card not the name (weird because the name of the Tron lands are also their typing). So an Anyland or a land that is all non-basic lands instantly turns on all the Tron lands. Also Disa creates a token for each player deal damage by a creature you control, kind of like Professional Face Breaker or Grim Hireling creating treasures when an opponent is deal damage by a creature. So he would of had 2 tokens instead of just 1
I believe that Disa, the Restless counts how many players are hit in a combat and you get that many Tarmogoyfs from that effect. Yes, it says "one more more creatures deal damage" but it's the "a player" part that matters. You can hit 1 player with a lot of creatures and still only get one, or you can hit 2 players with a split of creatures and get two - just an FYI. There's the combat at 20:58 that should have made more than 1 token.
I really enjoy this channel. The videos are well-edited, and the group chemistry is amazing. I'm grateful that Wubby has such great guests on his show. It's clear that everyone is having a good time, and that makes the videos that much more enjoyable to watch.
Props to you for the discussions about the precons while the game went on. We dont see many honest thoughts about the decks at first glance. Would be interesting if you did this again but with everyone modifying the deck (same commander or sub commander )
A few years ago one of wubbys viewers made and sent it to him. Super cool. It works as a flamethrower and tazer. ruclips.net/video/s9OdXlOp0As/видео.htmlsi=jt4deTG_Q52Kfp70
22:20 someone correct me if I’m wrong, but Carlos should get 2 tarmogoyf tokens, as both Wubby and peanut took damage from combat. Yes the effect says one or more but it’s damage to a opponent, so it would have to say “one or more creature does damage to one or more opponent” in order to only get one. These decks look super confusing for a first time play though so it’s understandable! Tl/dr: that effect is per opponent who takes combat damage
These games are literal perfection. Great explanations, setting, camaraderie, decks, strategy…….. I am hooked and will be rewatching every mulligans episode in perpetuity
That was wild when y'all were debating over what artifact/enchantment/land to destroy and peanut had a freakin' aetherworks marvel on the BF. That card was so busted out that it warped the standard meta to the point it got banned. When I saw that come down I was like "oh its game"
The editing really stood out! I'm usually not looking or realizing the amount of work/effort editors put in, but this was crazy good, and entertaining. Kudos!
14:00 I believe someone answered it; but making the land all types lets it tap for any color. It’s similar to how blood moon, yavimaya, urborg, etc work. Becoming that land type grants it the ability to tap for those colors. I am not sure however if the urza lands gain the ability to tap for the additional mana.
If a land has any of the basic types as a subtype it can be tapped for those colours. This is conferred by the subtype itself which is why the ability for say a Gingerbread Cabin to be tapped for green shows up as reminder text not actual rules text (though some older cards use regular rules text to say the same thing but thats just because the formatting not requiring it wasn't established yet). This only applies to the basic land types though, having the Urza's Mine subtype doesn't confer the Urza's mine mana ability.
I think all of the decks can be absurdly strong with minor updates. Even the Jund Deck, which a lot of people kinda clowned on when it was revealed, can go absolutely nuts with any good self-mill value cards. Incarnation Technique is a nice card to include because it can end up adding like 4-5 creatures to your board for 5 mana (Self-Mill 10 cards, reanimate 2 Creatures, plus any Lhurgoyfs are reanimated automatically by your commander), and it has a political angle since you can let one other player reanimate 1 creature. The pre-con already has Maskwood Nexus, but Conspiracy is an easy include. Entomb is kinda nuts because it is a 1 Mana Chord of Calling for any Lhurgoyf in the deck.
Graveyard hate is too common. The same reason the Warhammer Nekron deck suffered. One hit to ttheir graveyard and it's over, it can even be done at instant speed to remove graveyard triggers.
@@Elfenlied8675309 I don't know who you play with, but Graveyard hate is not overly common in my playgroup. Especially at instant speed. Most decks have a couple pieces to get rid of a full graveyard, but they generally don't have a way to interact with what Disa is doing. The deck mostly cares about stuff going into the graveyard, not about having them stay there so that you can access them later. Disa immediately reanimates Lhurgoyfs, so it isn't like you are filling up the graveyard and then mass reanimating them at some later point. It isn't really a reanimator deck in the traditional sense, so most of the common graveyard hate that is played is not that good against it.
these commander games and the content really got me into magic, just started playing arena and getting cards to build a real commander deck. Keep up the great content
13:00 Wubby is the ONLY person I've seen actually use the entirety of Omo's ability in a game online so far. I've seen so many people *Never* put an everything counter on creatures.
Jeez, that Eldrazi deck did nothing. I think he said he was island locked? That's absolutely brutal. And that Energy deck ramps up so quickly. Pretty cool to see an old mechanic return. It felt like it was just barely tapped in the Kaladesh block, so it's nice to see it return and get some love. Goyf deck is Goyf deck, looks good. Really like the Everything Bagel deck, has some interesting ways to win.
Playing a wubrg commander, even if it's eldrazi and they have alot of discount mana cost cards, it's always prone for bricking (even though booty should have probably mulliganed that hand) so I don't blame him
@11:55 When they are talking about the basic land with the "Everything" counter, Wubby says he thinks it can only be tapped for Blue Mana. But it should also be ALL basic land types and therefore able to tap for any color of mana? Correct? Or no?
The amount of synergy between Magus of the Candelabra and Sage of the Maze when most or all of your lands are gates is absurd. All gates effectively tap for three, since you can use each to untap the sage and then use half of that mana to tap the Magus to untap those lands and do it again. Magus gives all creature lands vigilance if you use it post combat. I'm inspired to try to look for more similar synergies!
Awesome video as always, love the chill vibes. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that tokens and/or exiled permanents never actually hit the graveyard. So Peanut would not have had that much energy by then end, cbf figuring out if it would have affected the endgame or not.
