Old School mini trucker here 55 y.o I run 15x10 reverse on 195/50-15 on my 93 d21 and 86 b2000. The trucks are lowered. You can run 205/50-15 205/60-15 or larger tires to fill the wheel opening. I like the lowered look with wheels poking out but its to the persons preference.
On the 15x10 rims you can use 205/65 tires if you want them to be a little higher, and if you want them to be thinner you can use 195/50. Greetings from North Carolina
I have an '89 and I put the 17-in sienna minivan wheels on them and they are perfect with the fenders in the rear the front I did have to put a spacer.
The Ronal wheels, although I might choose something skinnier personally. Seems like wheels that wide might hurt "performance" when paired with a 22r. Speaking of which - the prototype wheels were actually my favorite look, but that much stagger doesn't make sense. Nice wheel collection!
Unfortunately all of those OEM bmw wheels are 14" which means a slim selection of tires. Also, I don't have and sets of 4. I did restore one of them in a previous video ruclips.net/video/r87xz-GwzwA/видео.html
It's lowered on drop spindles up front, which required updating to 84+ suspension: ruclips.net/video/3rF7W55DuaQ/видео.html The rear is lowered with 3" drop leafs: ruclips.net/video/SZtaLFsBB1Q/видео.html But then I also mini-notched the frame: ruclips.net/video/ylkHDaurM6A/видео.html So that I could install 4" blocks: ruclips.net/video/qxkQqtLPfNg/видео.html Oh and I also installed air shocks on the rear for when I'm hauling heavy things: ruclips.net/video/2yqD-gAVtSI/видео.html The truck rides great for a slammed toyota. The steering isn't very crisp, but I'm also riding on wider than stock 14" balloon tires on 14x5" rims. Once I get some larger wheels on, I hope that will improve.
Which set of wheels were you referring to? Mine has front discs from a 1986 1-ton, so I'm not sure how they would fit with drums. Usually it's easier to fit wheels on drums, since thee's no caliper to interfere.
I have 92 pickup, that I want lowered to around 2 to 3 inches. What's a reputable company that sells leaf springs? Would a Rim 17 be a fit? Selling some rims?
These leaf springs should work for you: ruclips.net/video/SZtaLFsBB1Q/видео.html They said 3" drop but It was more like 2", unless they just haven't fully settled in yet. No wheels for sale at this time.
I actually still have the original wheels on with polished chrome dog dish hubcaps. When I upgraded the brakes to 1-ton, I made sure that the calipers would clear 14" rims because I do love the look of the originals.
I've been driving it on the factory steel wheels for now. After I refinish the wheels I'll get tires on them. But now it's time to store the truck for winter.
You're not going to like my like ... I prefer the boring ole originals. Not that I'm not impressed with your wheel stash, bc I def am, I don't think I saw it before in any of your vid, but that's awesome how you got that cool collection of wheels, simply amazing. Even rare ones. But, tbh, and ik I'm the oddball here .. I happen to prefer the cheapest or lowest trim oem or the closest relative on these things. Just my $0.02. One reason is least likely to be thief bait. Another is I'm just a fool for nostalgia. That being said, the truck is obviously modified even from a glance, so, in that case ... I really like the last two you put on.
I actually agree with you 100%. The whole reason I didn't go any bigger on the brake upgrade was so that I could still fit the OEM 14" steel wheels. I cleaned up the chrome dog dish hubcaps and put them on and it looks really good. Even when I refinish a set of the aftermarket wheels for this truck, I'll be holding on to the OEM 14" steelies to swap them on sometimes. Something about dog dish hubcaps on an old truck looks cool to me.

I didn’t realize you were such a wheel hoarder!
I love wheels!

the last set was the best
Torque thrusts are cool. If your going blue with the truck you could make it look like the tamiya bruiser rc truck from the 80s
Cool idea!! I bought tires for the Torque thrusts, now I just need to polish them up first.
That’s an awesome collection of wheels.
It looks better with the 15x10 with not very thick tires, those rims are classic too. 🔥🔥
I agree, thick sidewalls take away from the visual depth of the wheel.
Any of those rims you fitting on the truck look awesome but me personally I like the ones you put on
I ordered some tires for the 17" Torq Thrust wheels :)
second to last set look perfect!
I have an '89 and I put the 17-in sienna minivan wheels on them and they are perfect with the fenders in the rear the front I did have to put a spacer.
I thought sienna's center bore is smaller than the pickup? What year sienna sid you use?
The spacer probably solved the center bore problem, if the spacers were not hub centric.
last set but with the poke of the second to last set
Your wheel collection reminds me of “mini truckin “ magazine 🤣
The good old days!

Nice wheel collection!
I thought I had a lot of wheels. Sir, you have me beat 😂
You can never have too many wheels, right?
Torque 2s or the last set you put on . Look really good!
I ordered some tires for the 17" Torq Thrust wheels :)
You should run a 195-45 on the 15x10s. That's the same spec I'm running on my Toyota pickup
How much does that tire size throw off your speedometer?
@@6thGearGarage I think it's about 10 or 15 mph off. I check it a long time ago but I just drive it and don't care anymore lol
@@victorhilario7756do you have IG, or anywhere I can see your truck?
@@6thGearGarage I have an IG but I don't have a lot of pictures of it on there. Is there another way I can send you some pictures?
Que hermosa está quedando esa Toyota
I have 15x7 Ronal R9's on my '86 X-tra cab..
I love those R9's!
17x9 would be perfect for this truck. Run some 225/45 inch tires and it would be cherry.
I am leaning heavily toward the 17's :)
Torque Thrusts look more suited, not at all overstated.
I agree 100%, period correct for an old truck!
Those prototype wheels are amazing!
Any chance for a part 2 with more of the BMW wheels?

Informative vid! thumbs
6GG I’d like to know how you lowered the pickup? What parts did u use for the Front & Rear? I like the look

I have the same toyota hilux with brake drums at the front and rear. Will those wheels fits well at the front?

The torque thrust look like they belong......and a 20R race against a 20R is fair game
I ordered some tires for the Torq Thrusts :)
THANKS A LOT
Thanks for following the build!

and thanks a lot for you

Du you have some wheels for sale
Yeah I sell some here and there.
When you’re getting older age, I bet you will back to original wheels.

Did I miss something? You going to drive it.....Needs a speed bump test

And I got only a collection of factory rusted steel wheels, all kind of with old rubber on! They are good for tarp weights as I use them!! 😂
I keep a few in my back yard as well... so useful when you need them!
