    This clip is a great jumping off point to make your own gemstone candles…lots of ideas to tweak it and make it your way. Thanks for sharing the concept. It’s just what I needed to create my own.

    You'll have a lot less waste if you make those wax blocks using muffin tins. Also, you can buy a can of mold release to make getting the candles out of the containers easier. Spray it into the containers before you make your candle and you won't have to destroy them after it's done. Oh, and NEVER EVER EVER cool a candle down in the freezer. The harsh cold will ruin the surface, making it rough and ugly. Always let your candle cool down on its own. It takes longer, but you'll get a much better result.

    I love this DIY but if it were me I would've added a essential oil or something to give it a good refreshing smell other than smelling like crayons😂

    Great looking but A LOT of waste from plastics. You can use a tart mold tea light mold or muffin cups that will release and are reusable to create the same effect. I have made gem soaps and candles this way for years without adding to the landfill. Also ecosoy wax will allow carving easier. But this is a great way to use old candles and breath new life into them.

    STUNNING! I LOVE THIS!
    very beautiful!
    also crayola crayons have a melting station to make different colors and shapes. I would stick to this brand if the others could be harmful. which I have never heard. Because crayons are made for small children who often ingest the products. So again, well done! great work!

      Oh, I'm sorry about that. Making candles can be messy . At least the candles turned out ok?

      Please go on a candle site and read from somebody that knows how to make them correctly do not use crayons do not use paper cups. Wax is highly flammable and it can get away from you very easily. peak candle,aztec candle,bulk aromatherapy , so many have teaching videos

    Can plastic containers be used as moulds??

  • @madcapcoll

    Why i really love the effect your getting here, why why why must people continue to use crayons to colour candles. They may say non toxic but that is to draw with once melted down they let off fumes that are harmful. It is so cheap to buy real candle colour and be safe.

    • @FluffyHedgehog
      @FluffyHedgehog  7 лет назад +9

      +madcapcoll I understand your concern. I didn't knew that burning a small piece of crayon mixed with wax is toxic! Can you please provide some links where this is stated? I googled this and couldn't find something official. For me wax color is not that easy to find and not cheap. I also burn candles usually outside, or keep them as decorative pieces.I doubt inhalling regular candle fumes is 100% safe also but ok if done ocasionally.It's best to use natural essential oils.

    ,Nice Idea, but you don't have to cut open the container. Just put them candles into the fridge when they won't come out.

  • @MsBleau
    @MsBleau 4 года назад

    Please do not pour hot wax into paper cups wax is highly flammable, your wax temperatures vary depending on wax anywhere between 180 to 205 degrees. nor should you use crayons for coloring it can clog the wick. again causing fires.

    thats really a lot of aggravation for a few hours burning time! that looked like hard labour. but they are unusual and i liked the background music, instead of the crass background on most youtube videos.

    Wow that bigger one in the middle looks far superior to the smaller ones, How'd you make that one.

    • @FluffyHedgehog
      @FluffyHedgehog  5 лет назад +1

      The big one is a salt lamp not a candle. I put them next to each other because I liked the color and light contrast. I'm sorry it was misleading, but even so, the candles that I did make are pretty large. To buy a gemstone of that size is expensive. I usually have the size of a walnut or a peanut.

    OMG, I wouldn't know where to start. I have about 20 observations but none of them are flattering or kind so I'll have to pass. I did feel it necessary, however, to express that i feel cheated. Where exactly are the GEMSTONES in your GEMSTONE candles??? lol
