Wow, bet you're glad you packed the bike repair kit....a long walk back without it. Great film Dave, beautiful countryside/scenery, looking forward to your next adventure. As always thanks for taking us along, and the effort you put into making these films, much appreciated.
Brilliant little adventure, thoroughly enjoyed watching it, I reckon that's what a big part of enjoying life is about, squeezing little adventures in, getting in touch with the outdoors. Great stuff 👍👍
Excellent Dave. Loved all the snowdrops. You have some really interesting looking places and landscapes up there. I'm glad you name places too as I can check them out on the map. ATB, Chris
Good on you Dave, I don't pal for lightness, I pack for comfort too pal. Nice setup throughout, love the bike even though it let you down, I don't get it, why does it always happen when on an important mission! Love the new tent and I love the setup. Top job pal as always.
Thanks Ant , comfort always comes first mate, bike all sorted now . New tent ideal for bike camping a bit small for normal type camping tho . Tfw atb Dave 🚲⛺️👍
Another great trip, hopefully inspiring me to get myself out now that Spring has almost sprung. Glad you got the chain sorted, that’s always a pain , at least the chain was quite clean 😂
Hi Dave, some bike ride, but nice spot found, I use the Vango F10 helium, I have the 1 and 2 they are good at 1300 and 1400 gr but the neon at 500 is magic, I thought it was a bit lower at the end and being tall I went for the helium, people go for all the fancy makes when Vango is so reasonable and reliable ! The borders are so nice we are lucky up here, we can always find a quiet spot, still prefer the bivy as I can tuck in out the way. Enjoyed the roads on this one Cheers Adrian
The first tent I had when I started camping was the vango helium 2 , roomy and dependable but I sold out to Hilleberg 😂 very quiet roads around here which make for perfect cycling . I still like a bivi camp too 👍 tfw atb Dave 🚲⛺️👍
Good stuff Dave , aiming to have a go at the bike packing myself this year just waiting for the weather to clear being horrendous hasn’t it ,very enjoyable video lovely part of the world and the churches were the icing on the cake Regards Mick
Thanks Mick , I have a few bike trips planned this year , nothing better than the freedom of a bike trip. Let’s hope this weather sorts itself out atb Dave 🚲⛺️👍
A satisfying and simple way to head out for an overnight adventure, albeit with a few bike issues, good dependable camp spot, made for a nice watch. Quite enjoy similar from the east, Newcastle end, sometimes setting off from home but nowadays having a preference to use the Newcastle Carlisle train; which is brilliant (in my experience) for accommodating loaded bicycles. last time just before New Year from Haltwhistle, weather though was not the best.
Nothing better than the freedom of the roads and bridleways on a bike. I cycled to Haltwhistle last week and got the train home £4.40 with a 1/2 hourly service except Sundays really is a great asset . Tfw atb Dave 🚲⛺️👍
@@BorderRambler nice one, actually my parents lived in Camden Town but my mother wanted me born in an Islington hospital instead of a Camden one - wise decision! Gonna be a tough match tonight ... 😎
Bloody hell - that was some cycle! Imagine if you hadn't had the spare link to fix your chain - defo 'the long push home' lol. I've seen you pitch there before, in that wee sheep stell, I've even been in there one time when Llama Annie was giving me a tour (beasting) round the forest tracks, it's a nice little spot. Great filming as per usual Dave - I've just returned my Elixir 2 because it was wetting out something terrible on only it's 2nd outing....and I've bought a new bike with the money instead lol. So hopefully I'll be back out bike-packing myself soon, but I doubt I'll be capable of doing anywhere near that mileage. New tent looks more bivi-like than tent like, but it's ideal for what you do on your bike trips. I'd rather have slept outside with the bike under the tarp 😂⛺ Cheers Dave, tfs, atb from DVS :)
cheers Donna , yes basically it’s a double skinned bivi lol , I’m only expecting to use it for kipping in . it will be good to see you out on the new bike but not good re the elixir ! yeah always carry the gear that can get you out of trouble if the bike fails unless you like long walks home lol tfw atb Dave
@@BorderRambler I can change inner tubes, tamper with gears and do the brakes, but I've never had to fix a chain before, I'll make sure I watch a few YT vids and carry spare links now (and whatever tool I need for that). The Neon looked more comfy than that blinking freezing cold bivi set-up on your last vid - were you using a sleeping mat on this Neon vid? I forgot to ask, the tent tapers down that fine I couldn't see if you had enough space for one.
@donnavansenior yes I had a sleep mat I’m not that mad , those quick links are a godsend , the only tool you need is maybe a chainlink remover . Luckily I didnt and it was a case of put the the quick link in and go 👍 I could have pushed up the hills and freewheeled down to get home 😂😂😂😂
Thank you for sharing your adventure! Thank you for taking me along. Good to have you back again. Beautiful country. Cheers!
Thanks Dan , always appreciated tfw atb Dave 👍🏻

Great camp Dave proper little home for the nigth . Even with a garage for the bike 😊

Lovely spot mate! That tent will do the job. See you have a hover air like the rest of RUclips!😂
Cheers Hardy , but unlike the rest I paid for mine 💷 as thought it would better for when bike camping 🚲⛺️👍
Nice one Dave, watching now before the football 👍🍺🍺
Arsenal fan ? up the toon lol 😂👍
@@BorderRambler got an Islington birth certificate mate! 👍😛
Btw, top video Dave, like the little Vango tent👍🍺
@snowymatrix used to sup in the pubs around Islington in my old union days , the angel wetherspoons for cheap ale 🍺👍

I'm a bit big for that Dave, I have a Vango F10 helium 1 man I fat that better, I like that tent you have but as I say just little tight.
Thanks mate , yeah it serves a purpose ideal if you can sit around camp before settling down in the tent for the night. Atb Dave ⛺️👍
