Thrandaylen it’s called somtom. It’s a very popular street food dish in Thailand. The fire, I believe, is a reference to the flames of the wok that you see at many street food stalls in Thailand. Especially the sparks that you see in this video. Very reminiscent of the look of Thai street food. I’m pretty sure Koba, or whoever wrote this song, did so after a trip (or perhaps many) to Thailand.
@JustTech F.Hero sing in Thai. And yes , he does mention papaya Salad in his Thai part. I am not sure if "sa wa ge(騒げ)" in Baby Metal part intended to used because it also sound like "Sawasdee" which is greeting word in Thai, but clearly this song has many things about Thailand

@@medimemedi6906 Well they seemed like they went a little darker in style because of the hardships in the last years. Yui being not able to perform due to illness and thus leaving the group and the loss of Mikio Fujioka, it got pretty tough for the band I would imagine. I am also glad they have jumped back in tho.
Thank you BABYMETAL. One of my favorite bands. The Thailand addition brings tears to my eyes. I'm 62, and my wife, who died suddenly and unexpectedly earlier this year was from Thailand. This makes me think about her, in a very good way (she also often made Papaya Salad for me .. super spicy, and super delicious.) My Daughter (step daughter, also Thai born) is now working in Japan, and we had planned to go visit her some time later this year or early next, and I was going to try and plan it around seeing some great Japanese bands with one of those fantastic with a Japanese audiences (Babymetal & Band-Maid concerts in Japan being my dream come true wish, but I have many other bands I would love to see over there as well) ... I am still planing on doing this (along with bringing my wife's ashes back to Thailand to be laid to rest in a temple with her family) which will be bitter-sweet, but if this experience taught me anything it's to experience life while you still can. Great big thank you Babymetal for making my pain a bit more tolerable. Love you to bits!!!
@David Landry I'm very sorry for your loss. It's great that this song can be so meaningful to you. The lyrics are a lot deeper than they might appear on the surface, with F.HERO's rap comparing life to smashing sweet and spicy things together with a mortar in order to release their flavor.
I'm so sorry to hear about your wife. But I'm glad Babymetal has brought the right spice to your life at which sounds like about the right time as well.
@No Idol Thanks, and all my best wishes to you and some good health to come your way. Yeah, I had given up on music for about 5 years, never bothered to listen to music until one day I saw this video posted on (now defunt) Google Plus message board ... it said I just had to hear this song called 'Gimme Chocolate' and the girls looked like my daughter when she was yonger, so what the hell .... Mind Blown. I just had to find out what elese was happening in Japan for music, and boy was I ever glad I did. I plan on heading over to Japan this winter (my daughter is now working there now) and hoping to see several bands if I can ... then off to Thailand to bring my wifes ashes home (and maybe check out Chiang Mai to see if I would want to retire there when I am ready in 2 years or so.)
I'm assuming the base harmony is done with Autotune Harmony engine? I like the lead singer's voice so much that even if it's autotuned harmony of her I still love it, and that's coming from someone who normally hates autotune!
You know I didn't even think of that but I remember when the Korean government were actively promoting K Pop when they realized the contribution it was making to its exports and balance of payments and so why not Baby Metal for the opening ceremony. I remember when America used Chevy Silverado's and here in Australia we had lawnmowers so why not Baby Metal and Band Maid, Brats ,Mutant Monster, Scandal good idea.
tbh, I personally prefer wagakki band there, bc well Japan, but you're right, I would watch that damn opening for sure, bc I bet their show itself would be way better and way more fun
@@chomkypanda lol, well i understand him... now is so confusing. The girls always give it 100% no matter where they are or how they are individually feeling. There must be nights when why are feeling poorly or exhausted but the audience would never know it. When they crowd give them their love, the girls go for 110%. It's amazing really.

Metalheads at a BM concert can appear to be a bit too much rough (for non metalheads) on the mosh pits and the walls of death, but mostly nice people really.

I didn't know the band until a few months ago and I don't understand anything they say. But the quality of the musicians in the band, this girl's voice and the production of these shows are insane. rock is not dead
You usually can't by performer or venue rules. I don't know if it's really a matter of respectfulness. If a group actually allows filming usually there will be quite a bit of it. Though there might be a little more respect for others around you (or fear of shame) - if people want to film in a place that allows it there's more of a culture that you don't film above your head so most are front, back or sides. If you don't really have a good angle there you just don't film while I feel in other countries everyone no matter how shitty their cell phone camera is or if they're too short and are just filming people's heads they're still filming above their head for some reason.
@@llama_3620 There's PLENTY of folks recording Babymetal at US/UK/EU shows. This show was in Japan where the venues are way stricter about filming. Also they consider it disrespectful to the artists. However, Suzuka _has_ asked fans to take out their phones to turn on the flashlight during "Starlight" and/or "Shine"
When I see this kind of live performance, I cannot help thinking, that the Japanese have MUCH bigger and better stages. I think I have never seen anything comparable in europe...
Thats probably because japanese idols are so fucking huge in japan which when combined with a lot of big bands as well as other types of entertainment, many stages/venues are bigger and better.
My wife is Thai and knows the rapper personally, she says this song is about the fruit papaya and he is rapping about somtam which is a green papaya salad lol
@ISellSigals Yes, that's right. The rap section uses Thai papaya salad as a metaphor for life. It's spicy and sweet, but you have to crush everything in a mortar to bring out the flavor.

I thought Pa Pa Ya means something like "fiery" or "fire" but no, it's the fruit... I love this band...
From what I understand, Papaya salad is a spicy Thai dish. Spicy and fire are close enough. ^^
@@dougtube9870 Thank you ^^
@JustTech F.Hero sing in Thai.

Thank you BABYMETAL. One of my favorite bands.
The Thailand addition brings tears to my eyes. I'm 62, and my wife, who died suddenly and unexpectedly earlier this year was from Thailand. This makes me think about her, in a very good way (she also often made Papaya Salad for me .. super spicy, and super delicious.)
My Daughter (step daughter, also Thai born) is now working in Japan, and we had planned to go visit her some time later this year or early next, and I was going to try and plan it around seeing some great Japanese bands with one of those fantastic with a Japanese audiences (Babymetal & Band-Maid concerts in Japan being my dream come true wish, but I have many other bands I would love to see over there as well) ...
The harmonies at the end are just so tight. Unbelievable.
I'm assuming the base harmony is done with Autotune Harmony engine? I like the lead singer's voice so much that even if it's autotuned harmony of her I still love it, and that's coming from someone who normally hates autotune!

The respect from the crowd tho. Aint seen a single phone recording
it's literally impossible to record while in a metal concert
As someone from Japan, we don't take our phones out in concerts. It's disrespectful.
However, Suzuka _has_ asked fans to take out their phones to turn on the flashlight during "Starlight" and/or "Shine"
we ain't gonna waste our time recording, we breaking our necks😀👍
