The part where Luke says my 4 orc hearts are exposed, and it cuts to Johnny with this 50yard stare where they are just trying to think about 4 hearts in an orc. Maybe they were thinking of space marines!
My money is on: 5th: Egbert. Has high melee damage and the ability to close the distance with Misty Step, but since Mike is playing him he's going to favour riskier and funnier strategies like his bombs and using improvised weapons, the advantage of this strategy is that the others are going to underestimate him so he might be able to score at least one kill. 4th: Dob. Lower melee damage and limited spell range, but in a duel with Egbert, Dob might have an edge with his esoteric spell usage. 3rd: Merilwen. Strong damage across the board, decent mobility and a wide range of spells, but I suspect Wild Shape is going to make her one of the biggest targets because of the obviousness of how powerful she is. If the others underestimate her I could easily see Merilwen scoring the win. 2nd: Prudence. rudence has the highest damage potential and will most likely start out extremely aggressive. Like Merilwein, she needs to make sure she doesn't draw too much attention but if given the opportunity to cook, Hunger of Hadar and Summon Greater Demon and similar combined with the long range of Agonizing Blast + Eldritch Spear might give her the win. 1st: Corazon. Being a Rogue, numbers alone with Sneak Attack damage and his many ways of mitigating incoming attacks give him a massive edge. Since it's Corazon, my reckoning is that he'll remain hidden at the start of the fight and then move into a one on one duel towards the end. Corazon likes to favour showy performances so this risk might lose him the win if he doesn't play it safe early on.

Yeah, Merilwyn might had chance to win this if She accept an alliance from Dob & Corazon but She had to much pride in it and keep focusing on Corazon, if She agreed and should do just like Dob said, Dob (while controling Egbert) and Corazon will change and focus their attacks on Prudence instead.
Listening to the podcast uploads of the old episodes at work. Tower Rangers Part 1: Dob: If Eggbert is dead we need recover the body to bury him in accordance with the wishes of Vache Mauve. Corazon: Throw him off a cliff?
I lost it at Prudence's eyes going wide at Corazon's 20 damage to Merilwen. I was not expecting Dob straight out of the gate with Crown of Madness on Egbert. I'm starting to think, being just barely into the fight, that they maybe do know their characters well. ...I spoke too soon as soon as Mike interrupted with how he's reading it for the first time. Never mind about them knowing their characters all that well. I swore when Egbert rolled 6 on Merilwen. The imagery this one is creating is perfect. I love imagining them all spotting Corazon attempting to hide. I love everyone knowing the mechanics better just because of BG3. "Please, get wrecked" I love that line. Oh dang, I did not expect Merilwen to get taken out like that. Wow. I hadn't realized that no one damaged Prudence at all. I also love them all suddenly hiding how many hit points they have left. Corazon's speech had me wheezing. Then a murder-suicide attempt except Corazon betrays them is absolutely the most in-character thing for him and also seriously underhanded. I love it. Oh man, I did not expect that from Dob. This was an absolute blast.
Can't believe no-one remembered the lore of dob cause he technically won, cause when he dies he comes back alive as an undead and has to walk up a mountain to a destroyed cabin and also the fish inside him would still be legal. God dob lore is so random
Also would Corazon feather fall do enough damage on landing to even take 1 point of damage off. Prudence also had many outs on her way down though must have been too shocked to work them out. x:x
Even feather fall lasts a minute. Technically Corazon wouldn’t even die. Heck with feather fall he also had plenty of time to drive his saber on the mountain side and hang on. I think they kinda wanted to go they all die route.
@@adamire8310 The problem with Corazon is that due to Johnny letting him get away with BS stats and things he shouldn't have, he's basically unkillable. Merilwen had the most chance out of anyone, but the gang-up on her was just plain unfair because Andy isn't allowed to lose because he's the boss or something.
@adamire8310 Yeah, it's understandable, but Dob was offering an alliance, and she chose to attack him. Fair enough, it's a deathmatch, but it put her immediately in a 2v1 even before Egbert got involved. Obviously she couldn't have predicted the Mace proccing at the worst possible time, though, which made it even worse, and it's easier to critique strategy when you're not in the moment.
Completely unrelated: I just watched Andy’s Senu clip and years later it is still one of my favourite bits on any of your channels. “I can see people!!?!”. He should play the part again in a one off oxventure episode. “Bayek, I’m freakin out!”
*Immediately goes to the comments to see if anyone else points out that Merilwyn shouldn’t have been able to dash out of the Hunger of Hadar because bonus action dash is only a rogues thing*
Johnny let multiple non-rogues get away with dash as a bonus action in this game. Between that and the BG3 shove, bonus actions are a bit unhinged now. But when have the Oxventurers ever cared about the rules, really? It's not what makes them entertaining (though my inner rules lawyer would be equally entertained by watching them have to abide by all the rules for once).
"I'm reading this book for the first time" Despite the fact that Mike would have had to read it to create the character of Egbert, I still believe that statement.
47:18 I never said it but I'm having a great time watching this Mr.Dob. Also I was expecting Prodence just Eldricht blast while falling and not go out easily.
Fun silly session! A few rules things though: - You can't hide if the people you're hiding from can see you doing it - you need something to hide behind or darkness or whatever. - BG3 changed a *lot* from the main D&D rules, so bonus action shove isn't actually a thing - Shove is a special type of attack you can make. - Hunger of Hadar is a sphere of blackness so nobody can see in or out (except maybe with Devil's Sight on a Warlock). You need to see to make attacks of opportunity. - Standing up from prone costs half your movement, it's not a bonus action. - Someone please remind Mike he doesn't need to cast Cure Wounds to heal, he can Lay Hands to cure more HP more easily, he only needs to Cure Wounds once that runs out. - Prudence should have spider climbed at the end! But it wouldn't be Oxventure without playing fast and loose with the rules, just things to keep in mind!
I was waiting for Prudence to angle herself back toward the mountain while falling and use Spider Climb to cling to the rock and scramble up to the top. Totally could have won it! Oh well. Gratz Corazon! And also JUSTICE FOR MERILWEN!

If Egbert actually reads his character sheet he resists spell damage. So Mike actually reading is an X factor to consider.
Of all of them, Egbert is the biggest wild card for sure. If he reads his sheet I would maybe put him above Dob and possibly Merilwen.
@@Tickerbee ya Corazon is the damage threat for sure.
@@Tickerbee also Corazon has a shortbow he never uses as Ellen pointed out in the body swap episode.
This is true, but I don't think he'd use it. Not even because Andy would forget, but because it's not on-theme for a Swaahbuckler.
That was actually the perfect ending - hilarious xD
"tubular pig-solid in a prison of wheat" is such a good callback
My favourite part of this was Prudence playing to the camera, what a pro
Gasp! Mike read the player's handbook
I know! That's the bit that cracked me up the most.
Poorly! Mike read the player's handbook poorly
He read the wrong page, but it's the effort that counts
Mike embodies Egbert's -1 wisdom so well 😂
Jane went so easy on everyone, didn't even summon a giant duck!
Absolute peak oxventure chaos. I love it.
I just wanna say, you guys are great. I appreciate everyone so much! I found the main channels during lockdown and the content helped during a difficult time. I'd say your vibes in general made me want to come out of that period a better and kinder person. I think a lot of people didn't so thank you!
In regards to TTRPGs, I love the weirdo characters you've made! And seeing everyone grow as role players has been fun too. Mike went from someone who barely knew how to play one game to my favorite actor/player in another. Andy was a natural story teller running Deadlands and his characters are iconic. Also to everyone who DM'd, even one shots, I appreciate you because that's hard. It's hard enough for friends and I can't imagine how hard it is for tens of thousands of viewers. Freaking Luke even wrote a TTRPG, the hell? (I have the book, read it, and will play it one day. An F-Zero RPG with wrestling flavor is custom tailored to me.)
And I don't want to leave anyone out because the equation is perfect! Jane keeps the podcast going which I'm sure is a ton of work. She made a map! I know she'll kill it when she finds the right game for her to run. Ellen will be great too, she's been the catalyst for some of the best moments of each game and everyone just loves seeing her play. Excited to see her find her moment to tell a story as well. And Johnny? They're the reason we're all here! I knew any episode with Kasimir or Zombie Gold Rush Grandpa was gonna be great because they just play to the group and story so well. Loved their Dwarven and Tabaxi characters!
Just THANK YOU! For everything you do. You guys all deserve to be billionaire RUclipsrs like Jane. I hope you find tons of success. I'll donate more when I can to help that goal.
Ellen DMed the tea time adventure one shot
Kind of glorious seeing all the characters feel the annoyance and frustration that Johnny has felt for years. 😁😂
That was brilliant, Andy's plan was fantastic
I see Dob winning this as he just has to go full "don't be a Dob".
Dob could still be a Dob, but just summon the skeletons
"I wanna get this Fathomer off" made me do a full spit-take. I'm apparently still 13 years old.
No spoilers, but the ending is absolutely epic:D
More spoilery bit below:
It's a real shame we haven't seen Merilwen going full Neutral, I feel like, given the chance, Ellen would kicked their butts... Kudos to her adapting on a dime to the role of Fathomer though!
Did the Fathomer pop out of thin air or a thick bear?
Yeah, Merilwyn might had chance to win this if She accept an alliance from Dob & Corazon but She had to much pride in it and keep focusing on Corazon, if She agreed and should do just like Dob said, Dob (while controling Egbert) and Corazon will change and focus their attacks on Prudence instead.
Mike reads book, all characters die of shock
Listening to the podcast uploads of the old episodes at work. Tower Rangers Part 1:
Dob: If Eggbert is dead we need recover the body to bury him in accordance with the wishes of Vache Mauve.
Corazon: Throw him off a cliff?
48:51 Jane's "The forbidden spell slot" at the end of this exchange deserved more recognition
OMG I forgot about this!!
Also would Corazon feather fall do enough damage on landing to even take 1 point of damage off.
Prudence also had many outs on her way down though must have been too shocked to work them out. x:x
I think the implication was Corazon did feather fall too early and so it wore off before he landed because he died too.@@nihkhdtigerson1599
Even feather fall lasts a minute. Technically Corazon wouldn’t even die. Heck with feather fall he also had plenty of time to drive his saber on the mountain side and hang on. I think they kinda wanted to go they all die route.
They kinda all forgot that Egbert got explodinated due to his bombs, and declared the ground to be explosive. 🧨
Time to paint some minis and watch this!
Ha! I instantaneously knew Corazon would use feather fall! How did they not guess that?? Since when has he played not to his advantage hahaha
It's kinda sweet how hurt they were! I guess it's weird to play a wholesome dnd group for so long and then turn around and kill them.
0:54 tubular pig solid in a prison of wheat.
I still believe merilwen would've won this if she hadn't been focused by literally all 4 other oxventurers. This is outrageous.
that's exactly why they all went for her first. smart of them but damnit 🥺
@@PanEtRosa yeah, although I couldn't predict that the ultimate way they defeated her was stopping her from playing a druid
She didn’t do herself any favors by getting tunnel visioned on Corazon. She just couldn’t let that first sneak attack go
@@adamire8310 The problem with Corazon is that due to Johnny letting him get away with BS stats and things he shouldn't have, he's basically unkillable. Merilwen had the most chance out of anyone, but the gang-up on her was just plain unfair because Andy isn't allowed to lose because he's the boss or something.
@adamire8310
Yeah, it's understandable, but Dob was offering an alliance, and she chose to attack him.
Any chance you remember which video of theirs that was from? I've been looking for days.
@@Advent04Children I saw it on “Show of the weekend: best bits of 2018”.
@@BadAtPickingUsernamesit's up there alongside That elevator bit
Being able to summon a demon has to help- unless it's another duck i guess
She really could have used it at the end of the fight like specifically the giant duck
I was hoping that's what she was doing when she walked over to the fathomer's corpse, since she'd need freshly-killed-humanoid blood.
Mexico selects Egbert as its champion
Best…episode…ever! I can’t believe that ending LOL
Egbert finally uses his Paladin powers!
I don't think Corazon could've possibly died given feather fall lasts a minute at 60ft per second on an 80 foot mountain lol
I think the idea is Corazon wanted to die, after winning ofcourse but he wanted to die. That’s why he doesn’t even try to grab something to hang on.
Oh I realize he wanted to, he just wouldn't have@@LegendaryTalesandTrails
I was almost screaming at the falling Prudence! Reach for the Mountainwall and use Spiderclimb! xD
This should be annual if the party has leveled up substantially.
Yes fan favorite Prudence!! I love her “ I do this for the people” energy! lol❤
GO….FIGHT …WIN!!!! Hoorayyy
Alls fair in love and pork products 😂😂
Ooof really tough call, but those wild shape hit points not effecting your main hp is nothing to sniff at.
this is great, johnny is incredible for managing all of this and making it go smoothly
Couldn‘t Prudence have tried to grab for the rock face and cast spider climb as they fell over the edge? Seems like it should work.
That's what I was thinking
47:18 I never said it but I'm having a great time watching this Mr.Dob. Also I was expecting Prodence just Eldricht blast while falling and not go out easily.
This trailer is sick Ive watched it like 8 times and I'm still hyped
Fun silly session! A few rules things though:
- You can't hide if the people you're hiding from can see you doing it - you need something to hide behind or darkness or whatever.
LMAO That was so chaotic. Definitely went differently than I expected. I loved it! That was great fun. ❣❣
The ending of this was perfect lol. Absolutely perfect.
I was waiting for Prudence to angle herself back toward the mountain while falling and use Spider Climb to cling to the rock and scramble up to the top. Totally could have won it! Oh well. Gratz Corazon! And also JUSTICE FOR MERILWEN!
This is awesome, and by far the most everyone's engaged with their character mechanics
Corazon you bastard!
Where’s Corazon gone? He’s Cora-Gone!
That’s such a bad play on words in right up my street well played sir
We should have known that Corazon would win. It's written in his name: Cora-won!
