Oh, and super confusing to see this before he gets it in the main campaign, but Bodger got his hammer tweaked. It now hits even on a nat 1, he just takes the damage as well, in such a circumstance. And it now only polymorphs when he chooses to use it.
hey Rob I know this is from 7 days ago, but recently Daggerheart open beta got released, and I was curious to know, what do you think of that system so far? Could we see a Daggerheart one shot with Viva?
I predict that Bob will have some critical failures, Adam will do the most DM-negotiation to bend the rules in his favor, Greg will surprise at least one person with some OP cleric shenanigans, and Bodger will beat the snot out of most of them with the same handful of actions that will still take Rowan forever to remember.
I wonder how many people realize how strong Greg is in this scenario? His high AC offsets Bodger and BOB's high attack modifiers, making it unlikely that they can deal damage he can't get away from and heal. He can buff himself quite a bit. He has an entire array of spells to dish out damage, one of which potentially being harm, which is absolutely brutal and bypasses Bodger's resistance while raging. Baradun is the biggest threat to Greg, but I'm almost certain he doesn't realize that Greg is that dangerous and will concentrate on Bodger and BOB. A lucky critical sneak attack from BOB is probably the only serious threat, as BOB is the most likely to attack him as well. There is some chance that BOB manages to sneak around the map opportunistically chunking people until the end and win... but we all know he is going to make choices as catastrophic as his rolls and go down first.
You're forgetting that most buffs in D&D are concentration spells. So yes, he can technically plan ahead more effectively, but he also has choices to make. And he has to choose between buffing, healing and attacking every turn. Clerics are amazing because they can do everything *in a party*, but in solo the action economy actually goes against him. If his concentration is broken early and his first Harm doesn't deal as much damage as he needs, he's stuck. Bodger and Bob both have many ways to increase their chances to hit by getting advantage, and they have multiple attacks. He was smart to use the Guardian of Faith because control is his best chance. He can't afford a "duel", so he needs a 1v1v1 situation so he can retreat in case things go wrong. Relying on high AC against a Barbarian that can get advantage easily and a high Dext thief is really not a good plan. IMO he's the least likely to win and will only win if the others ignore him. Bodger is the most tanky, but is vulnerable to Baradun's spells. Baradun has the highest damage output, but he can easily get down if things start to go wrong. Bob is the wild card, he has all the tools to win in theory, but they need to be used in the right order... and roll well. There's a possibility that Baradun is considered to be the priority by the others and manage to survive long enough for Greg to set up his win but it's not as likely as you think.
@@Ezullof That's why I said "buff himself quite a bit" instead of saying "buff himself to the gills". I would love to see him use Hallow to try to trap Baradun in the ethereal plane for a couple of turns. That would be fucking hilarious.

He chose Quicken as one of his Metamagic early on so he could do 2, if he has the sorcery points. But he is burning through them with other stuff, so 🤷♀️
I wanted Greg to Ally with Bodger, give him that Holy Weapon, then choose to drop concentration to explode it when Bodger is in close combat with everyone else 😂
Prediction for round 1: Bodger: Raaage, frenzy, bodge Baradun Baradun: Blink, quicken, dragon, attack Bodger, blink fails BOB: attack, miss, hide, fail Alan: summon guardian around him I predict Baradun will win, if the dice are on his side with blink
My predictions: Bob: will fail at hiding multiple times (if the arena even allows for it) and will eventually die to a hammer to the face. Bodger: Reckless attack spam! Baradun: summons a dragon and finishes off Greg and eventually wins the battle by fireballing Bodger!
It's gonna come down to Bodger chasing Greg to the circle, Bodgers going to run out of javalines, which were all thrown accurately. Greg will blinding heal himself to victory cause Bodgers out of the circle

I never played D&D or any other TTRPG nor did it ever occur to me that it could be that engaging and intriguing -- I became absolutely hooked after viewing the the board sci-fi and the Halloween one and now I can't get enough- All of you guys' mannerism, wittiness, humor and impressive quick on its feet imagination is top tier. Carry on and hope you the best.
Love the intro, but truly love the interaction between everyone. And this was so enjoyable to watch. This was a great Idea. An hr of pure enjoyment.👌❤️
I always find it amazing how much these guys forget their own skills. It's honestly part of the fun by now. Like Baradun's been using Summon Draconic Spirit wrong this whole time. Did you guys know he could choose the breath type each round from among the options - like chromatic can breath acid, fire, cold, lightning and that changes each round - and that the dragon shares one of its resistances (like fire) with the caster? Love that spell. But anyway, love u guys, keep up the good work!
I do hope for another inteview with a god, that would center around him summoning the dickheads to the colosseum (Rob playing both the "God of Interview" and "God of Arena/Colosseum/Shits'n'Giggles")
Baradun doesn't want to lose to Bodger so bad! this is so funny. And I really like that the battlefield is so clearly visible. with all the figures and decorations. this is so wonderful. I'm rooting for Bob! Go Bob! ❤💙
You know, that's the same reason I have trouble playing games like Dishonored and Thief, even though I love the idea of first-person stealth horror: I may **always** be blinking, but I'm also **always** in a state of extreme anxiety in those games! :D
I predict the winner will be Sneaki Minaj, so stealthy that the boys didn’t even know she was in the match until she picked off the last man standing with a perfectly timed shot.
Rob is an amazing DM and also amazingly creative I’ve loved all the content it’s so hard to pick a favorite character because they are all so amazing. All of you have done great bringing the characters to life with personality, it’s been a joy to watch.
Baradun cast draconic spirit... no wild surge check, walks in to ice, no prone check. Hold monster is concentration, dragon doesnt disapear. sorcerer are a class where DM's really need to be on point or else they are entirely broken.
Bodger also didn't get a saving throw against dragon breath to halve it, and only rolled one attack roll for rend instead of 2 separate dice rolls. Also Bob only cast hellish rebuke at 1st level, should be higher for the level warlock he is. I don't think Adam is at all trying to cheat, but he is getting very lucky with all the rules the gang is forgetting.
In his first round of going into the ice world he only walked on rock and when he walked to the chest he did perform a successful check. I think it is highly likely that he rolled the wild surge check, but he did it in silence or it was cut. The concentration thing is correct, though he did not use his dragon by accident in the one round in which hold monster actually did anything
I'm pretty sure he did do a wild surge for Draconic Spirit, he rolled for something mouthed "no" to Rob and then used some kind of tracker to put the count up by 1, when he entered the ice area he was on solid ground then he moved onto the ice and had to roll. But you are right about Hold Monster, hopefully that gets caught or maybe just play it that because it was only going to last one turn it didn't need a concentration (But I'm not a fan of that)
Though I want Greg to win, it’s unfortunately unlikely. My Prediction: -Ben dies within 5-10 rounds -Bodjer (unfortunately) wins -Baradune runs like a coward after all of his concentration breaks -Greg, conflicted wan’t to heal his party members only for them to kill him.

Funnily enough, I'd just watched the latest D&D Logic before this, where Adam claims to be the best D&D player, and yet he doesn't know the limits of his own spells. Tut tut, Adam, tut tut! 😅
SPOILER: After Rob cancelling Baradun's Hold Monster after just one turn (I kind of feel that was unfair - should have at least let Bodger frozen for one more turn - especially since Baradun didn't get absolutely anything out of it as he was already protected by Blink, thus basically just wasting an action and a precious lvl 5 spell slot), I feel it's kind of fair that Baradun's dragon stayed around even if RAW it shouldn't have. He chose Quicken as one of his Metamagic early on so he could do 2, if he has the sorcery points. But he is burning through them with other stuff, so 🤷♀️
I think Greg will win. Everyone will focus on taking out each other. Greg will just stay near his guardian and survive.
Prediction: Baradun gets ganged up on and falls early due to his low hit point total and armour class. Greg ends up winning, Bodger is second.
I wanted Greg to Ally with Bodger, give him that Holy Weapon, then choose to drop concentration to explode it when Bodger is in close combat with everyone else 😂
Cool 💚💛❤️
I was thinking the same thing.
Buff Bodger while he is wailing on everyone, then drop it if he turns on Greg.
Predicting a team up on Bodger from all the others with Baradun being first to break the truce by fireballing everyone. Bodger still wins.
Haven't started the video and I already liked the concept.
May the best npc wins.
Prediction for round 1:
Bodger: Raaage, frenzy, bodge Baradun
Baradun: Blink, quicken, dragon, attack Bodger, blink fails
BOB: attack, miss, hide, fail
Alan: summon guardian around him
I predict Baradun will win, if the dice are on his side with blink
My predictions:
Bob: will fail at hiding multiple times (if the arena even allows for it) and will eventually die to a hammer to the face.
Bodger: Reckless attack spam!
Baradun: summons a dragon and finishes off Greg and eventually wins the battle by fireballing Bodger!
52:32 - flaming hammer for Bodger’s YouToos is finally revealed!!
🔨 🔥
That’s why we designed it flaming 😍
My YouTooz showed up this week, they look awesome@@VivaLaDirtLeagueDnD
It's gonna come down to Bodger chasing Greg to the circle, Bodgers going to run out of javalines, which were all thrown accurately. Greg will blinding heal himself to victory cause Bodgers out of the circle
A pleasure to have donated to such a wonderful crew
@RobertHartleyGM I was rewatching Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps and recognised you as Dion, can't believe I've gone from watching you giving Will Mellor shit to very impressively running one of my favourite DnD settings on one of my favourite channels. So much respect for what you've achieved
Isn't Hold Monster concentration? Shouldn't that have dropped the dragon when Baradun cast it?
Yup 😅
And it comes up later on next episode I think when we realise
@@VivaLaDirtLeagueDnD NOOOO :D
I feel like BOB has the most chance of winning with his hiding ability and sneak attack, but will still lose because of his luck and stuff, as well as rob intervening for entertainment
My predictions for each one of them:
Bodger: frenzied rage, throwing his hammer, going to forget polymorph
Greg: blinding heal, holy weapon(he's gonna explode it), the final spell he used against Krik
Baradun: blink ring, going to pull out djeff to annoy bob, vetrollic sphere, the insane damage spell he has
Bob: bonus action hide, eldrich blast, squeak squeak, wotsit, short bow sneak attack
Who's gonna win and die first?: Baradun and Bob
Lets see how much did i got right😁
pulling out djeoph would immediately turn all of the others against baradun
I never played D&D or any other TTRPG nor did it ever occur to me that it could be that engaging and intriguing -- I became absolutely hooked after viewing the the board sci-fi and the Halloween one and now I can't get enough- All of you guys' mannerism, wittiness, humor and impressive quick on its feet imagination is top tier. Carry on and hope you the best.
Enjoying the mood lighting in the tavern, looks appropriately ominous. Really fun episode!
Love the intro, but truly love the interaction between everyone. And this was so enjoyable to watch. This was a great Idea. An hr of pure enjoyment.👌❤️
Bob for the win by killing and eating everyone else just because he felt a little hungry
Greg wins, Baradun dies first, Bob gets the first kill, Bodger jumps of a ship and dies
I saw this is an hour long episode and the second I saw that, I smashed that like button. (I was gonna hit it anyway, I'm sure but I got very excited)
I was hoping this would happen eventually :D great timing, too, just made myself a cup of coffee, checked e-mails and noticed this. Bring it on!
Rob's laugh at Adam's dancing added years to my life.
Hamish, Britt, and Ellie are going to be dark horse winners SOMEHOW!
I could binge this content for days. Laughed so hard at Bodger and Baradoun's interaction.
This channel came a very long way. I rember when you only had a few hundred views. I'm happy to support you guys along the way.
18:44 gotta love Bob's trippin' balls reactions 🤣🤣🤣
Clearly to me the best VLDL format ever (with the podcasts) ! Love you guys, give us more of this ! (Cheers from Belgium)
I predict the winner will be Sneaki Minaj, so stealthy that the boys didn’t even know she was in the match until she picked off the last man standing with a perfectly timed shot.
Head Canon accepted.
Rob is an amazing DM and also amazingly creative I’ve loved all the content it’s so hard to pick a favorite character because they are all so amazing. All of you have done great bringing the characters to life with personality, it’s been a joy to watch.
Heck yes. Bring it on!
Lol Greg just buffing in the corner is great
Baradun cast draconic spirit... no wild surge check, walks in to ice, no prone check.
Tbf, since hold monster was nullified after one turn, I'd feel bad if his dragon disappeared despite that being the rules
I'm pretty sure he did do a wild surge for Draconic Spirit, he rolled for something mouthed "no" to Rob and then used some kind of tracker to put the count up by 1, when he entered the ice area he was on solid ground then he moved onto the ice and had to roll. But you are right about Hold Monster, hopefully that gets caught or maybe just play it that because it was only going to last one turn it didn't need a concentration (But I'm not a fan of that)
Bob is both the first to die and the winner. I do not know how but I like a long shot.
Though I want Greg to win, it’s unfortunately unlikely.
My Prediction:
-Ben dies within 5-10 rounds
-Bodjer (unfortunately) wins
-Baradune runs like a coward after all of his concentration breaks
-Greg, conflicted wan’t to heal his party members only for them to kill him.
As a cleric Greg is super tanky and has some powerful spells that bodger cant reduce. Hes gonna be harder than people think.
My prediction is this is going to be the best PVP d&d I've seen and that I'll be hooked before the end of the episode.
Greg's gonna win. Baradune's gonna die fighting bodger. Not sure on the rounds. Whatsit is going to come in out of nowhere and die protecting B.O.B.
Bodger not asking for a second grandfathers hammer when opening the chest is a missed opportunity
The real winners are the fans.
I’m so happy there are now 3 instalments of this channel now! Keep it up.
Prediction:
Bob dies first followed by Greg, big fight at the end with Bodger beating Baradun
And Naturally Bob will roll a Nat 1 at a pivotal point
I'm loving this PVP, as a Kickstarter backer I must of watched this 4/5 times already

Wonderful job as always, my good person!
It's time for Greg's redemption arc! Guardian takes out Bob, Bodger takes out Baradun, then Greg smites him
Um, actually, Hold monster is a concentration spell, so Baradun should've dropped his concentration on Draconic spirit. 🤓
Bodger falls first, but Greg revives him. Bob will sneak attack Baradun at a critical moment and turn the game around. Baradun will own mid game. Overall winner will be Greg.
This comment needs highlighting for the Greg reviving Bodger bit!!!
Last man standing is definitely going to be either Bodger or Baradun.
I predict Rowen will win, Alan will die first (sorry Alan), Ben B will do the least damage (sorry Ben) and Adam will be forced to stop blinking
Possible spoiler!!:
HOLD ON! isnt both Draconic spirit and hold monster concentration? so the dragon should've disappeared?! Rob, im scared
I just got to this bit and said exactly that!
Yeah I got to this part and said the same thing as well
Everyone know your spells! The DM has enough to think about!
Funnily enough, I'd just watched the latest D&D Logic before this, where Adam claims to be the best D&D player, and yet he doesn't know the limits of his own spells. Tut tut, Adam, tut tut! 😅
SPOILER:
After Rob cancelling Baradun's Hold Monster after just one turn (I kind of feel that was unfair - should have at least let Bodger frozen for one more turn - especially since Baradun didn't get absolutely anything out of it as he was already protected by Blink, thus basically just wasting an action and a precious lvl 5 spell slot), I feel it's kind of fair that Baradun's dragon stayed around even if RAW it shouldn't have.
It would have been a really dick (pun not intended) move to let him sacrifice one concentration spell at the cost of another that gets cancelled by deus ex machina after just one turn.
This is some of the best D&D content from you guys in a while. I love it all but this is so great
When Alan said "I cast aid on myself", my 12 year old inner child said "Hehe, Greg just gave himself AIDS" 😆
Bodger finally remembered his polymorph. Its been like 20+ episodes that he forgot to roll it.
Didn't forget, Rob mentioned before they intentionally didn't use it because it dragged fights out
Oh Adam...Adam :'o
I was rooting for you! We were all rooting for you!
*forgets dragon's turn, doesn't attack Bodger when he's right next to him, casts two concentration spells
Sigh
Love this! Cannot wait for pt. 2, hopefully this gets the guys recharged to go talk to some fire giants!
