The 20 damage wouldn't be enough for me to consider not using the door. You've got break a few eggs to make some omelets. At some point you have to start making moves and the Guardian can only hit 3 times before it vanishes. 20 damage at there level isn't even all that much. It's everything else that Alan has at his disposal like Spiritual Weapon, Harm, etc that should have the players worried.
@@viktorbryce951 That is absolutely true, even more so for a raging barbarian that can halve that damage (I believe it is bludgeoning?). But they have decided it is too much of a risk, and thus stun locked themselves with no end in sight.
@@luisleongaming1776 I know right, they view a moderately small amount of damage as otherwise lethal, though to be fair, if Alan either soaks the damage they inflict or it out right misses he has a great opportunity to make you suffer for it. For being the quote otherwise healer he does have some very powerful spells and abilities that can drop say Bob or Baradun, more so Bob as Baradun has ways to mitigate said damage as we saw. Rog is likely the one who's in the best spot to deal with this due to his overwhelmingly high pool of HP's. Like just use your Move-Action go through oh look there be Alan, I use a say Ranged Spell/Attack then go back through the door. Sure I took 20 dmg but you likely inflicted significantly more and even if you didn't you could cause his concentration to break. That or just take the damage and move away from the Guardians, it's stationary so it's a one and done unless you go back through the door. Or say force him to burn limited amount of Spell slots forcing him to heal. Then at same time it forces him to make a tough call to either A: Stay in said environment and risk taking compiling damage from said environment which can also break his concentration or B: Move into a new environment and risk a encounter with one or more individuals.. @@czerwonyelf well flame strike is just bad fireball... but the power of spirit guardians, guardian of faith and spiritual weapon is absolutely bonkers as you can have all 3 spells up at the same time for maximum battlefield domination
Baradun is OP because of his ability to ignore rules to a point: ignoring Concentration being a big one (casting Hold Monster without losing his Draconic Spirit, not losing said Spirit when he wild surges into a Rage, casting Vitriolic Sphere while raging until Rob remembers and retcons it.)
Really like some of the camera work here, like cutting to the minis whilst Rowan searches for dice - keeps the flow of things moving. I don't really have the technical understanding to properly describe it but I suddenly noticed it this episode.
What I've learned from this is Greg is smart, he put up a guardian of faith at the door making everyone afraid to use them giving him full range of abusing the doors to his advantage...also harm is terrifying, I hope Greg wins or at least comes close
Spending 3 rounds to buff himself and take advantage of non-concentration spells being on the field is brilliant tactics. Guardian of faith alone forces the rest of the players to not use hit-and-run tactics via the doors and spiritual weapon also bottlenecks players from the area it's in
He has the best odds as of right now, the only one that can realistically beat him is Baradun and Baradun is being attacked from all sides. I would imagine that at some point Bodger is going to try and go for him, but there is almost zero chance of dealing enough damage to Greg without taking a lot of radiant damage in return.
@LuizAlexPhoenix personally I think baradune is going to try and keep his distance from Greg for a bit because of that harm spell, bodger might take advantage of baradune being at low health and take him out, Greg might be the reason why Bob gets out because Greg can use radiant damage and I believe Bob takes more damage to radiant (I'm probably wrong about that last part so please correct me if I'm wrong but that's my overall prediction of how it's going to go)
What this mini series has proven is that Bob actually is a bad guy. Think about it. He's an utter failure in fighting any enemy in the regular campaign and frequently serves to derail their plans during non-combat gaming. But when fighting the rest of the team, he's quite competent. He has a shady backstory. His contacts and family are all bad/evil. He's also posessed by Kelethak and readily accepting his evil powers. Bob is the BBEG!
I'm going to have to disagree. Bob is not evil. If anything, he is the only party member who has shown any level of non-shelfish compassion. That being said, being the good guy inherently puts him in a antagonistic position to the party.
I feel like the Van Lier curse has spread throughout the dickheads at this point. If ever Bob becomes the BBEG, I feel like Ben's going to be rolling high af to all his attack rolls 😂
@@masonharris9166and being a good guy doesn't really stop him from being mind-controlled/possessed. He may not become the BBEG, but it can still be a kind of Boss battle for the dickheads lol

Baradun raging completely changes everything! 😂 I predicted that Bob would roll terribly and was proven wrong. It's anyone's match at this point. My next bet is that the Dickheads call a temporary truce and decide to focus fire on Baradun on one of the turns he doesn't blink since that guarantees a win against someone with high damage ranged AOE attacks.
It's been so fun and unexpected. I only had a soft prediction of Bodger winning because I prefer him to Baradun and he seemed the strongest. BOB is my favourite and I'd love him to win but Greg has been the MVP honestly, using the environment to his advantage with Guardian at the doors, and using Harm on Baradun. Hope he wins now. Alan deserves it but will have to see.
Seems like it’s rigged for Baradune with all the passes on extra concentration spells and no checks after taking extreme damage to keep concentration other than that I’m loving it
Alan is still my bet. He really uses his spells cleverly and I want to see Alan win. The others all got several heroic fight moments in the main campaign and he didn't get the one he could have...

The first one he uses, Magic guidance, allows him to reroll, but he MUST use the new roll, which he does not. He then uses Tides of Chaos, which he cannot use after rolling poorly, only before a roll to give him advantage. Tbh I personally would say rule of cool would let him use Tides of Chaos after a roll if he uses his reaction on it, but using both abilities should not combine in that order. Technically he could do this in the opposite order, so no biggie. 42:10 Baradun enters a rage. This means he should lose concentration. Bodger's been missing his danger sense for advantage on dex saves. Baradun getting very lucky with missed rulings, should have lost his dragon last video when he cast hold monster, again when he inflicted rage on himself. Glad Rob caught it at the end there and rolled back the acid damage. Excellent episode! Can't wait for the next one :) Sorry for the backseat autism
Dun worry man, a bit of backseating is normal, especially if you really have a neurodivergent brain ;) I for example am very annoyed at the fact no one remembers to ready actions... Baradun's blink would be a trap if Bob or Bodger would remember XD
There was a moment at 44:46 right after Alan makes a concentration savings throw where Adam looks up makes a face when he realizes he hasn't had to make one ever, and says NOTHING.
Baradun gets away with so much stuff in this show though x,D 1. Magical Guidance as a Sorcerer ability can only be used on Ability Checks, not on Saving Throws like he did =P 2. It also says that he MUST use that new roll after using that ability, so even if he was able use it, he couldn't then use Tides of Chaos, I believe? 3. Entering a Barbarian Rage requires that you cannot concentrate on any spells nor cast any while raging =P OH! Rob caught the casting no spells thing =D Hurray
Ikr, on Bodger's turn I was screaming prepare/hold action against Baradun for when he re-appears and captain america him. But also hitting the dragon to keep rage was good too
When Greg took potion of healing, I had sudden flashback to that PUBG video, where Greg in his underwear is standing in middle of blue circle, eating all the healing potions while Rowan is shooting and growing grenades on him :DDD
This Battle Royale format is a fantastic way to get players & DM together to know each other. I'm loving this series. More of this please, perhaps with the Misfits!
Ngl, i believe this is fantastic for them to start remembering things. They'll actually eventually learn more about each other's skills than their own. But hey, at least one of them will remember
I'm actually considering making PvP part of session zero for my next game. (I usually start players at level 3 so they can have some of their class features/ abilities) I only hope that will help my players learn their characters as fast as these guys seem to be learning there's.
Bob: I'm hidden. Bob: That's lightening damage? Rob: No it's different things. Bob: And then sparks of electricity? Rob: Recon - Everyone can see bob for the next 3 turns and hidden is disabled.
That was EXACTLY how I expected Baradun's rage to be like 😂 though rage is such a pain in the ass to have if all you want to do is cast spells 😂 man I can't wait for the next ep, I feel like someone's gonna go down 💪
I still feel like no one truly appreciates how deadly greg is here. They quite honestly all should team up with Baradun and focus fire him to burn him down. If Baradun dies, Bob and Bodger stand almost no chance vs his dmg output, high AC and ability to heal. I mean he can just casually heal himself to 50% with his channel divinity twice so he effectively has almost double his base health on top of being very hard to hit for anyone but Baradun.
No joke, Baradun is the only one that can cause enough damage to Greg. Bodger and Bob could team up and still not be able to reach him. Greg already set up his guardian of faith and holy weapon, so he controls two areas and is going through doors with impunity. He also has higher AC and temporary HP, so they cannot even hit him nor deal enough damage without him retaliating in full force.
i'm surprised no one around the table had any comment to make when Baradun blinked into existence and literally at the last second stole Bodger's loot chest... "AYE! I was here first you little gremlin!"
Baradun had 2 concentration spells going in first episode so the dragon should've disappeared then but then when he raged he shouldn't have been able to concentrate either and should've lost the dragon again... he's getting away with a lot of stuff
@@masonharris9166maybe but if you recall in the Goldhorn fight Baradun/Adam was literally using 3 different concentration spells at the same time so I'm thinking Rob doesn't put limitations on how many of them that can be used simultaneously. Though I'll be honest in my games while I don't put a limit on concentration spells myself I do however make it so you got to roll with disadvantage for each additional concentration spell and a fail counts towards all of them. Simply put the more concentration spells you got going on the more likely it can fail.

If bob/ben really wanted to get devil sight back as one of his eldritch Invocations he would be able to replace one of his current ones if he gained another warlock level.
Love how red Adam turns during his rage. But rage drops all concentration, because y'know, the rage. Bye bye dragon. It's why Byrim's warlock/barbarian was such a terrible idea.
37:25 I would usually agree with Adam here but as he put it himself, Baradun knows Bob. That would mean he does not know Bob is good at hiding because he's so miserable at it in the campaign :D
Besides just being bloody fun to watch I really hope you guys do this again at end of campaign. I think this is the most effort they have done all round to learn spells and abilities going after each other making sure each mechanic is being used.
I’ve not had a chance to watch yet, but I wanted to give some thanks to everyone for how entertaining this series has been so far. It’s great being able to see the guys’ creativity with their characters ( and to watch them go all out against each other !😆 )
The fact that you don´t have any merch shirts in the office/studio, so if like here somebody (looking at you, Adam) forgets about the memo, they can go and change, is outrageous and you should immediatelly stock on at least one shirt per your used sizes. 😂
Baradun took a hefty damage from Greg (-28), which brought him down to 27 HP (since the potion (+30) took him to 57 HP). Thus, Greg's attack caused more than 50% damage. So, why there wasn't a Confusion (or whatever the GM pulled on Horatio) roll?
@@HCXWinchester It is current health, which is why the threshold comes into play I guess. They didn't want someone one with 20 health keeling over a 10 damage attack.
Love seeing everyone's creativity and unique approaches with each character in this free-for-all player brawl. Here's hoping they can do this as a team in their inevitable fights in Shmargonrog!
"I have Evasion, don't I?" "Oh, yes you do"...."but, missed abilities!" Players, PLEASE, know what your abilities are! The GM has a LOT to be keeping track of! (Not meant as a slight against Ben, he's a fantastic player that I'd love to have at my table)

Excellent episode! Can't wait for the next one :)
Sorry for the backseat autism
Dun worry man, a bit of backseating is normal, especially if you really have a neurodivergent brain ;) I for example am very annoyed at the fact no one remembers to ready actions... Baradun's blink would be a trap if Bob or Bodger would remember XD
@@nicolalanti449 haha for sure, it's like having an itch you can't scratch
@@Taurickk In my case is more like something that blurts out with almost no control 🤣😂
Tend to find that people forget as much good stuff as bad stuff in the heat of the moment during gameplay, such that it balances out in the end. 😊
Yoh dude I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought the same thing
There was a moment at 44:46 right after Alan makes a concentration savings throw where Adam looks up makes a face when he realizes he hasn't had to make one ever, and says NOTHING.
Made a similar face in the last episode when he had to make a concentration check for the dragon a little while after using hold monster on Bodger
😂
He knows. Its bit bullshit. As if the blink ring isnt enough.
Yeah, he is such a cheeky bitch sometimes.
Baradun metagaming and low key breaking rules is kind of in character though so he might get a pass.
I was neutral at the start but, now c'mon Greg!
The sound effect for Baradun's rage was 👨🍳💋
Poor Rob with his VERY real and clear frustration about thunder vs lightning damage
Loving Greg's strategising here, locking off the doors, hit and run, good stuff. I'm cheering for him!
Adam keeps using magical guidance for saving throws but it's only for ability checks xD
And tides of chaos gives you advantage before roll, not reroll of failed roll
I love how tickled Rob gets by Ben’s jokes.
To be fair, Ben's jokes are replies to Rob's exposition. Ben actually likes to make the people he's talking to laugh with his jokes.
Baradun gets away with so much stuff in this show though x,D
1. Magical Guidance as a Sorcerer ability can only be used on Ability Checks, not on Saving Throws like he did =P
Triple-meta-game-inception.
Good catch on the no spells while raging.
Loving badass Greg, the character change was a fantastic move for his RP
The zoom snap edit when Ben was going uuuuhhhhhhh. Was top notch. Well done all round 👏
3:34
Sitting here watching NO ONE prepare an attack against Baradun for the moment he reappears from Blink...
Lost opportunities.
Ikr, on Bodger's turn I was screaming prepare/hold action against Baradun for when he re-appears and captain america him. But also hitting the dragon to keep rage was good too
The dragon should've disappeared when Baradun Wild Surged, since you cannot cast spells or concentrate on them while raging.
Yeah I noticed this too
When Greg took potion of healing, I had sudden flashback to that PUBG video, where Greg in his underwear is standing in middle of blue circle, eating all the healing potions while Rowan is shooting and growing grenades on him :DDD
Greg using harm makes me think of Juggernaut in Deadpool 2. "I'm gonna rip you in half now." "Ok."
Ahem... not only can Baradun not cast while he is raging, he can't concentrate either. His dragon should be gone.
Its incredible how quickly these players have learnt mechanics when it becomes a matter of competition
I'm actually considering making PvP part of session zero for my next game. (I usually start players at level 3 so they can have some of their class features/ abilities) I only hope that will help my players learn their characters as fast as these guys seem to be learning there's.
Its ridiculous & awesome. :)
lmao I loved the Ahhhhhhhh(slowly zooms in) *click* so good!
@@LuizAlexPhoenix Yeah, it'll just be bob's eldritch blast over and over until greg kills them ;p
i'm surprised no one around the table had any comment to make when Baradun blinked into existence and literally at the last second stole Bodger's loot chest... "AYE! I was here first you little gremlin!"
Ben's gleeful grin at 33:19 is hilarious 😂
Adam should still have been blooded at the end of this ep. He said at 39:09 that he did not use his potion.
Im so glad rob picked up on in rage you cant cast spells, i hope he remembers that you also cant concentrate on spells. So his dragon would disappear.
The edit at 3:34 had me almost fall to the floor lmao I can't wait to watch the rest!
Rob i praise you for walkin them through so much in the campain. Best dungeons master every. We appreciate you.
This is so fantastic
Thanks so much for doing this
Miss Dabilities joins the battle
And her man, Mister Bilities.
😂
Baradun's 'rage' can't be a one-shot. It was just too good. I hope there's some way it makes it into the regular campaign :D :D :D
Greg can win this easily if he keeps playing smart. Clerics represent!
Go Bob! Also I'd love to see Bodger and Greg team up. The Honeywood boys
Baradun had 2 concentration spells going in first episode so the dragon should've disappeared then but then when he raged he shouldn't have been able to concentrate either and should've lost the dragon again... he's getting away with a lot of stuff
Rob commented else where that he realizes this next episode
@@masonharris9166maybe but if you recall in the Goldhorn fight Baradun/Adam was literally using 3 different concentration spells at the same time so I'm thinking Rob doesn't put limitations on how many of them that can be used simultaneously. Though I'll be honest in my games while I don't put a limit on concentration spells myself I do however make it so you got to roll with disadvantage for each additional concentration spell and a fail counts towards all of them. Simply put the more concentration spells you got going on the more likely it can fail.
@@syncdom I like this as a rule. May steal it. (I don’t do PvP so I don’t mind players making busted combat builds. So long as they can’t break the story I don’t care if they breeze fights)
And dragon wasn't take damage when start in same biome
I love that these are 1 hour long videos, wish the the campaign videos would be also 1 hour long. 30 minutes just feels too short always.
But damn, this channel is on fire rn. 3 videos per week, love it!
absolutely love this mini series. So far Greg has been the smartest in using the battlefield to his advantage, can't wait to see what next episode brings!
Barbarian rage prevents the casting spells and concentration of spells.
Greg has finally found his calling as a real battle-cleric :)
37:25 I would usually agree with Adam here but as he put it himself, Baradun knows Bob. That would mean he does not know Bob is good at hiding because he's so miserable at it in the campaign :D
The zoom in on Ben and then click out when he clicked his tongue made me spit take 😂
Besides just being bloody fun to watch I really hope you guys do this again at end of campaign. I think this is the most effort they have done all round to learn spells and abilities going after each other making sure each mechanic is being used.
Greg anime deflecting Bob's Eldritch Blasts with his hands :D
27:40 Adam was tweaking. Literally shivering his timbers.
53:38 Ben trolling Rob on an obvious pet peeve. 😁
This PvP is so much fun. Greg is really thriving in this arena.
10 minutes in and I'm thinking "Couldn't Greg have cast Dispel magic on the dragon?"... not that he's ever done that.
You know something funny. When he casted hold monster, which is a concentration, it should have ended the spirit dragon, which is also concentration.
Rob's Greg impersinations are so spot on.
I’ve not had a chance to watch yet, but I wanted to give some thanks to everyone for how entertaining this series has been so far. It’s great being able to see the guys’ creativity with their characters ( and to watch them go all out against each other !😆 )
Baradune would lose concentration as soon as he raged cause you can't cast or concentrate while raging
The fact that you don´t have any merch shirts in the office/studio, so if like here somebody (looking at you, Adam) forgets about the memo, they can go and change, is outrageous and you should immediatelly stock on at least one shirt per your used sizes. 😂
Haha we do actually have TONNES in the office. I definitely should have gone to change
@@VivaLaDirtLeagueDnD *insert Rowan with the shame bell gif 😂
ah daily dose of epic npc man
im so spoiled i cant live without it
i really hope yall do animate this fight eventually lol this would be hilarious to watch as a skit
39:28: 🤣🤣🤣 ... Props for using the acidic nature of garlic for this comment! (I mean, you're still screwed Greg, but nice try! 🤣👍🤣)
The realization of the rage effect on baradun 😂. I was wondering if he’d retcon it.
Isn't it %50 or more of "full hp" not current?
I looked it up, they call it massive damage. It only occurs past the damage threshold of 50 points.
Also, wasn't his max hp lowered for an hour, too?
@@HCXWinchester It is current health, which is why the threshold comes into play I guess. They didn't want someone one with 20 health keeling over a 10 damage attack.
@@DerLaCroix1 Rob said only if he failed the save. Why am I the one answering these questions lol, I've never played the game.
Absolutely loving these episodes. Such a great idea! Keep them coming ❤
Me: *is about to go check if you can cast spells while raging*
Rob: *suddenly, PLOT TWIST*
Love seeing everyone's creativity and unique approaches with each character in this free-for-all player brawl.
Here's hoping they can do this as a team in their inevitable fights in Shmargonrog!
"I have Evasion, don't I?"
"Oh, yes you do"...."but, missed abilities!"
Players, PLEASE, know what your abilities are! The GM has a LOT to be keeping track of!
(Not meant as a slight against Ben, he's a fantastic player that I'd love to have at my table)
I was yelling at them last time about Evasion!
I cannot believe that _these_ guys played an entire game with a "sit on the throne" mechanism without making a single 💩 joke!
