I grabbed a GI showcase third week for $70 less than the current TCG player market price. I’m really glad I did because the designers keep saying he is only going to get better!
I wish there was a better option in the US cause between the randomization, the discarded, and the curling foils I don’t have a ton of faith in the current one
I didn't find out about the game until March 20th. Fwiw, Leia has been the second most expensive showcase for that entire time. How much showcases go for was, unsurprisingly, one of the very first things I looked up when researching SWU. I do think there has been some price "fiddling" on certain things, but I'm not sure she's one of them. Or if she is, it's not a recent thing. I just wish I had spent less time deciding whether or not I wanted to jump in on a new tcg and bought my first box before Mar 31st, or or at least committed to more than one in that order. The price leap happened literally the same day my first box arrived and went to buy more. :/
Outside of Boba I think Leia is the most sought after SC for collectors. Her being a solid leader also helps. I don't think it's artificial, but I do think perhaps Chewy's recent inflation may be artificial.
I wouldn't worry about the buying single pack issue. The Way (my new coined term for the pattern), only tracks standard Legendaries, so at best you can find using that method is a Standard Vader, and he is only probably the 20-25th most valuable card in the set. There are still plenty of great cards waiting to be found in those single packs, including showcases.
I'd love to hear what you have to say about buying single packs and randomization. I don't see anything in the description like you said in the video. Secondly, this is the first card game I'm playing seriously but lack of product seems like a huge issue. Anybody I introduce to the game can get a 2-player starter deck and that's it without turning to secondary market. It makes it very hard for more people to get into the game and grow and I'm worried that its going to destroy this game's momentum.
This release has been more widely available than almost anything released in recent memory. For about three weeks product was widely available and cheaper than MSRP. I don't think that they are going to reprint the set, but I really wish they would. The second set is coming in July and seems like another good jump in point.
I had bought a couple of cases and opened since the start to collect the master set like you. It ain't easy to complete it, but the prices of the cards makes it worth opening boxes to trade or sell doubles. With other TCG you don't get as much as value, which says to me that or the prices of boxes are too cheap or the demand is too high. Do you know if they have enough printing capacity to do big reprints of spark of rebellion along side the new sets? The print of second set is already done right, so probably that also not enough printed..
Its a shame the products have gone up so high. I learned avout it a little late to really get anything other than a starter. Love the game and hope it does not deter new players from getting into it.
Same! Singles prices for most rares and under (and even some legendary cards) aren’t that bad so hopefully you can find a budget deck that you enjoy playing!
Did you see that Reddit post where a store in Arizona had like 14 or 16 showcases in a single box? I'm skeptical of the authenticity, but if that's true, it might completely mess with the distribution of showcases.
My area just cant get boxes its rough. Wife and i oly got the starter set and the pre release so going have to bug bulk commons and sets online its rough. Local gaming group is suffering cause lack of product. Im trying stay motivated to play but its hard with lack of product
@LiterallyUnplayable really ! I'd appreciate that so much. I live on a island in Canada so its not a big city so not much product. Store owner said people are just lining up for stock when comes in and going Try get everyone what they can to start a league.
Most things are going to tank once supply comes back. I can't tell you exactly what but my bet is for sure on rares. Some Legendaries probably things like Luke and Falcon.
Yeah rares can't hold with a big supply increase, I feel like they're already pretty plentiful in the market. Ls, hypers, showcases on the other hand I'm not so sure about
I think people are essentially making up the "reprint" idea. There's been no real word from FFG suggesting a reprint. Their statement made it clear that they were rationing product that had been held back from market and very specifically didn't say anything about reprinting.
@@Virtualvinyilradio I wish there was. It sucks that 90% of the cards are reasonably priced as singles and four legendaries are making it impossible to be competitive without spending $500 - in money that FFG doesn't even get.
I love Leia 100% but other popular leaders that are winning events like Sabine, iden, Krennic, etc haven’t been following the same trend. The price increase could def be legit, but I think in a few weeks / months we’ll find out
The other night I activated Leia, chose Ezra as one of the attackers. Ezra dropped a Fleet Lieutenant into play. That activation got me three attacks and a body into play. That's some goodness.
FFG's inability to get product to the market has been something they've been an industry leader of for many many years. Their long term reluctance to print cardstock has been the catalyst of killing the momentum of many of their games. It shouldn't take 3+ months to get another print run going.
@@Rastalyn7272reprints are good for new and casual players which i image is a better portion of magic players and probably why hasbaro made 1.085 billion dollars last year in mtg sales
@@Rastalyn7272 Disagree entirely. If you're buying these cards to resell for profit, then I don't care about your opinion. I want cards in the stores so more and more people can buy boxes and get into the game.
FFG has dealt with mainly LCGs which is VERY Niche so those product stocks will be more accessible due to that A TCG/CCG is an entirely different animal. This product hasn’t even hit your Walmarts or Targets yet and many card shops passed on the initial launch. Now those channels will want to grab the game and run with it in the future. I don’t think FFG was/is ready for that. It’s a fine line to balance play and collecting which this game caters both. I think they’re doing fine but walking that fine line can make or break this game imo
Could you track each week specifically the price of "bamboozled"? This would provide an excuse to put the card art for bamboozled up every time I know you'll make the right choice - thanks
Im at about 85% finished with the complete set (only a few rares and legends left to get) and about 50% of that is at playset. I wish i knew how popular the game was gonna be, I would've bought more. Now i cant even buy the restock! The 3 box allotment is way too little and will only drive up the prices. There are only 3 stores in my area that sells SWU. 1 is selling first come first serve at tcgplayer prices. 1 store is maintaining the original prices but only selling individual packs to tournament players and the other is already presold out. Ugh
Good luck completing the set. My son and I have play sets of 3 of every card, except the Falcon. We only have 2 of those. We are working on completing our Hyper and Foil sets. We have opened 3 boxes, about 8 of the pre release sets (got a showcase Iden) and about the equivalent of another box in sealed event packs. However, there are no stocks available. Until... MONDAY when our last 2 preorder boxes should arrive. Got lucky on the Vaders. I have pulled 5 so far. And 4 Boba.
I sincerely hope FFG aren't planning on pulling a WOTC maneuver and deliberately underprinting to try and artificially inflate demand, otherwise they'll end up killing what could have been a great and potentially long-lived game. Shades of Destiny...
I honestly can’t imagine that to be the case, at the beginning it seemed like they printed plenty, these do just feel like growing pains to me. We’ll have to see what happens longer term
This is my first time getting into a Trading Card Game, and I’m not happy. I’m quickly losing interest and regretting my investment into two booster boxes. As a consumer, I don’t want to drop money on Spark of Rebellion boxes and the need set Two boxes… that’s too much money. I can’t commit that much of my paycheck to that large $$$ of a purchase. Hence why I’m losing interest. I’m not trying to be a nay sayer, I’m just being honest as someone who doesn’t have a large amount of disposable income. The lack of product does cause people to lose interest. *edit* spoke with my family, we have decided we won’t be investing in set two. We are happy with our 2 set 1 booster boxes and play/build decks from that purchase, but the price volatility has spooked us away. Basically we don’t want to fall into the trap of investing in something that has the potential in doubling in price to be an active participant in a game.
To be fair at least the product you purchased is probably worth more than what you bought it for at this point. Yes the up front cost can be big, but you aren’t necessarily losing value. I do also think it’s pretty affordable if you don’t need the big chase cards. There are some pretty competitive budget decks out there or you could always play twin suns
This game is total garbage at this point. You cannot find a booster box any where at shops or online. The one sold online are $250 from their $90 MSRP. There is only one set and they simply did not make enough or the scalpers just once again ruin it for everyone interested. Just wait for restock and the singles will go down drastically
As someone who is a finance nerd and a SWU nerd, I appreciate this content.
Thanks for watching! ❤️

Really feel bad for you americans for not having accses to cardmarket. Its so much better then tcg Player both prize and interfacewise.
Price is really just a reflection demand and purchasing power which are both stronger in the US than the EU.
Doing this for each set individually would be awesome. This is great info - thanks!
The correlation thing is crazy.
I can believe the error was made because they didn't discard the discard cards. Meaning the printing partners.
I wish there was a better option in the US cause between the randomization, the discarded, and the curling foils I don’t have a ton of faith in the current one

Leia looks incredible so it could be legit, I just want to wait a bit to make sure
All Market info is what I hunt for here! I look at forums for gameplay rules or community information
Yeah I’d say if you wanted to do a market watch you should cover notable changes in price in the future like larger jumps or drops here or there.

That is true! Also "The Way" lol I love that
Would love to see a video about alternatives if you do not want to pay a ton for Vader or Luke etc. What replacements to use in which decks etc
Sounds good we can definitely try and address that on the channel!
Ive never played a CCG, but I cannot wait to play this game. I have the starter pack on it's way to me, but boosters are impossible to find.
Yeah product is definitely in short supply, my biggest recommendation is that you preorder product for set 2 when you can!

They’re printing through Cartamundi so they should have the ability to print a ton depending on production schedules and whatnot
