Vertex paint is the future, any depth detail should be geometry, the whole texture pipeline is bloat and UV sucks, you should have one tris per pixel at all times.
you need a dense mesh for vertex painting to look good and the more polygons you mesh got the more expensive it is to animate and render, so for any real time stuff where a high poly count is bad vertex painting is simple not an option, games for example.
Doesn't vertex painting involve subdiving your mesh alot for a perfect painting
Yes but your mesh should ideally be high poly as every pixel on the screen potentially has depth information.
I still doesnt know what is vertex painting...
You have to use both to get best results.
wanna start sculpting
Watched your old videos
Please tell me best software for sculpting
Zbrush is the way to go
if you can't afford zbrush, blender is good enough

I velive in hard model too but texture saves you memory...

@@tonnypedersen5915 Welll if not now eventually games will be dense enough for it.

SAME VIDEO?
Its quite a good video and I learned a lot from it.
Different to "Gandalf reacts to Elrond", if that's what you mean. ;o)
