Wow! Thanks for sharing! I hope y'all took time at the top to really take it in after that long of a hike to get there! That is a place I'll never go, so I'm glad you recorded it so well!
Ohh - that's an interesting idea. Now you've got my head turning over how to make a behind the scenes video that is both informative and entertaining! Thanks!
Our first ascent to the top of Telescope Peak was February, 1972. We used 12 point salewa adjustable Crampons and a aluminum Ice axe. No need for rope. Very icy and windy on the final trek up to the summit. Steep slopes on both sides up the final leg. Then the proverbial signing of the climbers log on the summit. It was windy and cold. Our thermostat read minus -10 F with the wind chill factoring in. So cold that one of our polaroid cameras froze up the shutter mechanism. Great views of Death Valley Below. Subsequently through the years we climbed Telescope Peak three more times, twice in the winter and one in the spring. Back in those days the Wildrose Ranger station was still occupied, but closed during the heavy winter period. I remember also signing in at the Wildrose Station as a courtesy for the Ranger that we were heading up the road to hike up to Telescope Peak.
You guys are awesome
I don't know about awesome....but we try for cool, or something like that. 😂
I'm a missionary friend of Andrew. Just so you know 😁
@@MikeJewell I was putting that together when I saw where you were located. 😁
Andrew isn't just my brother - he's our biggest RUclips fan!
This was a good one. Thanks for drawing my attention to it.
That was a lot of elevation gain! What a cool view of the highest and lowest points though!
Soooo much of it on that stupid first mile and a half.

Oh we did! We stayed for quite a bit! This is a hike I would do again! So pretty. -J
Have you done a video on how you do your videos? That would be awesome too 😁
