For someone who say they just stand there and "wing it", it terms of picking materials you sure do have a great eye for interior design and decorating. I've seen all your other builds and I can honestly say, I'd hire you in a heart beat!! You're super talented!! ✌🏾🙏🏾❤
Range hoods don’t necessarily need to vent outside, some are designed to recirculate back into the rv/house after going through a charcoal filter. The charcoal filters out the smoke/grease and any smells. Not sure if this range hood has that feature but that could explain why there’s no vent outside.
In a house a range hood doesn’t need to vent outside but if I had a stove using propane or LP which produces products of combustion as well as grease and heat, I’d want it to vent to the outside. In this small space I’d really want it to be venting outside.
He's probably looking for the ideal way to do it, the way he would like it. There's usually a fast way or a cheap way, and then there's a right way, IMO.
@@codygeisser5028 you’re right about the code in a house unless the appliance manufacturer(think Jennaire) requires it. I just retired after 25+years of being an inspector so these things get my attention, lol.
Great job, man! Watching your videos actually gives me more confidence to try some builds to my shed that I have been thinking about. Is your family from PR too?
DualEx should make like a shed style tiny house or workshop. With his skills and knowledge. He can sell it when he's done or keep it for his personal use. That would be another fun tiny home series.
That sounds like a great idea and if he made it on wheels then he could drive it around to work on other projects... because I know a ton of us would love him to help our builds! Plus then he wouldn't have to renting out that storage area we've seen him building out of. Though the way he uses it it seems convenient, leaves the mess/sound away from his home/apt/RV/truck.
Does the laminate have a built-in underlay? Infinitely better than what was there already. Also, I appreciate that you basically poured a full bowl for at least that first taste test flavor.😂 Cereal is not just a breakfast time food in this household, so I'm looking forward to trying something out that isn't packed with sugar.
Looks like it definitely doesn’t. Underlayment helps with inconsistencies in the floor and acoustics. With such a small space, it being a trailer, and all that will go in, it shouldn’t be a problem
I have a lot of unkles in construction. They are all old now but they all suffer from different forms of cancer, emphazima, or skin troubles. I know it’s not cool looking but when you do a lot of these jobs please think of wearing mask protection. I know nowadays we don’t have to worry so much about asbestos but just keep it in mind on demolition projects👍🏼.
Heck yea bro. Youre vids really helped me get motivated when doing the reno on my camper. Bought with no idea what i was doing, thankfully was an aluminum structure cuz had to repair water damage in the bedroom. Big props! Gonna continue watching as a live in and work on my 27ft Mobile Scout 1999
Could you pls list the power tools model and brand names in the description for each tool you use in that specific video? It would be helpful to know the name of them as they appear in your videos. Great video once again !
@UCaHeOb3NlhRuR1r6Ob0MmtA Wow, thats one detailed response I never expected. Strangely enough, the Menonites in Belize are known for their incredibly high quality wookworking finishes. I guess they havent been corrupted by capitalism yet...
Been watching since the first van build great videos to pass the time I’m going to renovate a pop up camper we’ve had for awhile going to make it a hard side mini camp love getting new ideas from ur videos
Nice chair collapse stunt! U make falling look fun. What I love about DualEx is the proof/fact that u do ALL the work! No crew that u tell what 2 do, U R THE ENTIRE WORK CREW. U bring a new meaning 2 DoItYourSelf-ing. ThankYou, Sir.
Great vid! My biggest takeaway is to measure twice cut once! What tools would you say are a must haves, which would you say are nice to haves, and what tools are only if money isn't a limit?
I’m willing to bet there’s no insulation in the walls either. I thoroughly enjoy your videos I’ve watched them all and I want more your taste and skill or some thing to be very proud of. Keep the videos coming I love every second of them🥰
About the range hoods: I believe the cheaper ones aren't meant to actually vent the fumes out and instead catch and filter the greasy smoke and steam to keep it from sticking to everything in the area. If it was just a filter it would have a little vent on the front of it but I think those are usually just in apartments.
I’ve never seen a range hood that does not vent to the outside ….what is the point of even having it well I’m excited to see how this remodel goes so I can work on mine… nope that linoleum is not true linoleum that is a shame how they build thee things and charge so much….well I love how the floor looks great job Duel
loving the hard work and dedication you've been delivering towards your work brotha. Im 19 and you Inspired me to buy and rebuild my first trailer That I turn in into my music studio. Thanks for the fire content keep it up🔥 If you need beats for your videos let me know!
I used to work at a place that made single and double wide homes.. I'm laughing at you as you taking this apart reminds me of how we put them together bunch of glue and Staples and the cheapest wood you can find.. haha no wonder why they last 9 to 11 years.. what a joke! Make it better dude!
You have such skills for building. Love what you have done to your tiny homes/vehicles. You should consider having your own business building/designing van & rv's. Maybe you already do.
That fake range hood was unbelievable😧 The quality of these RVs are trash. I will never purchase one brand new. Would love to see you get your hands on a wee roll trailer. They are inexpensive quality aluminum trailers. I’ve seen a few nomads purchase them & turn them into great tiny homes😊
Did you ever think to save the appliances and maybe pass them on to others who might need them? Just a thought. Your work is excellent! I really enjoy watching your videos!
I have seen quite a few videos from van lifers wishing they had not used plank flooring, apparently, it does not hold up well due to van floors being a small area and having a lot of foot traffic.
The range hood probably has a carbon filter. When I lived in Argentina for a bit, these "ventless" hoods were common. If you vent it outside, you can remove the carbon filter to improve suction.
Awesome man. Just bought an old 1977 17 foot travel trailer with the same floor plan as yours and planning on doing a similar renovation. Did you use adhesive under the floor? Didn’t see you put any down, is that for a reason?
Bottom line, in reality new is crap. You might as well buy used and take your funds and renovate. When done you will probably have a better product and still have money in your pocket.
Hello @DualEx I was wondering if you get a shuttle bus or a small school bus that seats 20 that runs on gas could u do a build on that with 2 twin beds with garage storage and toilet room and counter with sink and solar power and electrical full-time living with apartment size fridge and how much will you charge for it we are 2 women looking to go off grid full time
You are such a beast omg I love your work i would love to purchase one of your vans with a tiny bathroom and kitchen I'm gonna keep watching cause I might get lucky enough to purchase one
Why do people always want to do the floor first? You know when you place fresh floor on it than walk around on it and toss junk on it while your installing other hard ware you can damage your new flooring. You do the finish flooring last.
Love watching the work you do and your fantastic sense of humor! Your skill set has gotten better and better with every new project you’ve taken on. You are an inspiration for me to get off my butt and at least try!
Just curious if adding some sort of barrier before flooring goes in that's thin but still able to insulate the floor a bit would work? Camper floors can get cold but have you found that's not the case in the other one you rebuilt?
Just found your channel today (thank the algorithm). I just bought a 32' Keystone Sprinter 5th wheel camper, and after binge watching alot of your videos, I'm really excited to start working on modernizing it.
All those fixtures are mass production grade trailer equipment, they aren't even worth the materials there are made out of and they are noisy and unreliable. They are installed because they are expected to be there new, but they are also expected to be upgraded over time.

Correct with the range hood it reverts into the trailer

Funny how a newer trailer is built all for show. Reminds me when I did work on a new house and the insulation was crumbled newspaper.

They build campers like that for weigh reduction. Manufacturers know they’re not going to last forever.
It probably ain't linoleum. It's vinyl. BIG difference.

Wow and they wanna sell those trailers for 10-30,000$ with all that cheap shit inside!
What software do you use to layout the build?
I've seen a few of your episodes where you start a layout on a laptop? Thx keep up the great work !
How much will it cost to have me build me one with the most recycled materials you can obviously some new items just asking if we was on a budget
Sweet floor man
Have you finished this little camper yet the videos just stopped on it and we haven't had any update I was really interested in the build
I went to a hotel that had a kitchen and the hood just vented the smoke from me frying up some meat back into the room. It was worthless.

That is a ventless range hood. It has a charcoal filter inside that is meant to clean the air.
