Thumbs up for WHEEEE Gator. There are aspects of the dolls I like. A few pieces of clothing here, a hair type there, cool shoes ect. But only one so far has ticked off enough boxes for me to add to my want list. That is # 10. I only own one doll with micro braids so I am excited to get another, and that color! With a nice face and I really dig the outfit too! I like the matching two piece with a similar pattern on the coat but in a contrasting color. And baby pink. teal and orange are not what I would think to put together but they work for me. It reminds me of those high fashions ads where the model is wearing an outfit in the same pattern as the wall paper. I just like it a lot. I like the blue tulle coat, that would be a cool piece to own, and the hair on the other with the pink in the front is cool but as a whole I dont like enough of them to try to get them. Its my consistent issue with ALL of the others. I would like to find #4 second hand someday though, her hair color with her freckles makes her super cute and unique.
Barbie extra is definitely the best playline Barbie dolls out rn yet i can't really get into them the fashion really throw me off, its kinda of outdated and also lack diverse fashion styles but the dolls themselves are pretty tho

It must be game/activity night at Barbie Extra often. On a plush note, I do really like the face mold on the first one you opened. I am tempted to get her and switch outfits.
9 looks so basic and after-thought. like someone rummaged through a bin full of barbie clothes and go "ok, let's try to be random oh em gee! these all totally look so rebellious"
13's shoes make sense to me in that they're barbie doing a version of Timberland boots which lean sportier in that way. I don't think she'd wear the jacket with that outfit but I do think she's a girl that would own it/have it in her closet. 9 is cute to me but I would like her way more if her dress didn't have a text printing down the front
I thought it was bad when Mattel was throwing in a random dog or cat, but now they're throwing in random animals and/or a mystery dog (maybe hamster). Isn't weird how the "pet" is never with the doll once the package is opened. Everything else, with the doll, gets lost, but those dang pet keep showing up everywhere, in shoes, coffee cups, toothbrush holders...you name it and I have probably found a pet there in my home. My kids have all grown up and decided to pack away their Barbies for now, but somehow those pets keep showing up.
I actually really want that crocodile pet lol. It’s so stupid but so cute but so stupid. 😂 the whole doll design for that one is so baffling, but I don’t hate it. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
number 13 has a really pretty face but for a line that is supposed to represent current fashion these dolls are terribly outdated...what we're seeing in these outfits are trends from years ago and that even back then were very short lived...or fell off pretty quickly. even their makeup feels dated and is more reminiscent of 2015 trends 😭

I think the star glasses are linked to the star earrings and then it references the dress saying shine bright like the stars. But there is a level.of let's rush these out and use old sculpts and molds as most of the shoes and accessories for barbie are from the jointed fashionistas like the piano purse belonging to clutch wave raquelle that came with the pink top and leather look pants

Yes, for me they are both keepers! I already have #9. I think since these dolls are play line, Mattel is adding pets and accessories that may appears unrelated. I guess children may not be as picky or overthinking like adult collectors might be.
I know they are Barbie Extra, but their outfits make absolutely no sense. A basketball purse with a blue flannel jacket. Glasses with flames??? I just don’t get it. Nothing goes together. The 2nd doll? Oh my goodness what a thrown together mess! I’m glad some people like these, but sorry, I hate this line.
Their pets and accessories remind me of these cheap fake "Barbies", "LOL OMG's" etc. with shoes, brushes, necklaces and pets thrown in randomly, though I must say these are much cuter. They do not necessarily work with the specific dolls they come with, but you can change clothes and accessories between different Barbie dolls and create new outfits, which is fun. I like this line overall, and these two dolls have beautiful faces, but I'm not a fan of their clothes, especially the basketball outfit. And OMG, you have the Na Na Na family sets! I'm looking forward to the review. The panda set is one of my all-time favourite Na Na Na releases.

But i still feel like mattel could be using the budget thats being used on these dolls on so many better things that can please both young kids and older doll collectors

Lol the counselor for program for people with disabilities told me to do finger exercises because hand cramped when I was drawing 1 it's not a good idea to tell a depressed 18 year old to do finger exercises 2 if you work at school with teenagers and you don't know they are laffing when you said finger exercises you need to go back to college 3 it's like your asking to get flipped off by a teenager when you tell them to do finger exercises! I didn't but wanted to !

I always wanted a lalaloopsy dolls and I bought one yesterday.😊 Never too old to buy dolls.
I thought it was bad when Mattel was throwing in a random dog or cat, but now they're throwing in random animals and/or a mystery dog (maybe hamster).
