@@theivadim hi, to be forced to see subtitles is not good and also not in the middle of the video with such size of text. In RUclips the user are able to activate subtitles if the video contains subtitles.
if 20% performance costs 20% more AND may use an extra 20 watts 65 vs 125 vs >200. 8hrs a day 65 watts @ 14cents a day x 3oo = $42 just to power CPU if you have a hungry system 300 minimum to 1000 wat Powers supply. Face it many use >8hrs a day so. From $129 to $400 OF POWER NEEDED PER YEAR FOR 1 DESKTOP. What else is on? AC Microwave TV???
Yea I'm on an old 9700k that won't stop crashing, instead of waiting for 14th gen I picked up a mid teir z790 board and a 12600k for damn near $150 off MSRP with some DDR5 that'll hold me over for another year and a half while 15th gen comes later in 2024
Thanks for the update mate. All the prices for Z690/12th Gen cpu's dived to very affordable levels in March, so I build a new PC on a discounted high-spec Z690 & cheap 12100, plus my old 3060Ti for a really great price, expecting to upgrade to a 5000 gpu & 13600K down the line. Same part-list has now gone back up again by +20% so that was a lucky window of opportunity. Even better news is that there might be a third generation of upgrade cpu's for this MB then? This could expand the usable life-span of this rig to a lot more than I thought?
Good stuff! Yeah, it will be nice to have more than 2 generations of CPU upgrades on an Intel platform for a change🙂 It will be a small performance increase tho. But I hope you'll be able to catch a good price once more when the time comes🤝
I would say the recommendation is spot on. Desktop 14th Gen isn't worth it over 13th Gen or even 12th Gen most likely because of price. And if Intel goes crazy and demands a new socket for 14th Gen I believe their sales will suffer even more.
If 14th gen desktop will end up as the Raptor Lake refresh then it is highly unlikely that Intel will introduce a new socket for it. That is extra development cost both in terms of money and human resources.
Depends on the graphics card you use. For example, you may be missing out on some FPS if you have RTX 3060 or better. But if you are satisfied with the performance you have then no need to upgrade. Especially not every two years if you want value. I do agree with you one that.🤝 4-5 years for a CPU is OK. Once new, more demanding games come out in that period of time then it may be the time to start considering upgrading.
I have a i7 4770k too, and a RTX 3070. I can't play the new games releases anymore. Cyberpunk, Hogwarts Legacy, Elden Ring, all them performs at 30~40 FPS very low and 30~40 in ULTRA. I'm waiting for the 14th gen/black friday :((((
@@theivadim If you really want to use it, that would be much better, I guess. A smaller font and not that much in the middle of the screen would be the way - in my opinion.

Please, if possible let me know the source. Because I've seen many contradicting leaks. But I trust some sources more than others. And my trusted sources say - no Meteor Lake for desktop.
Anyone got advice for me? I’m looking to build my first pc. I’m pretty “techy” and I know my way around a pc. I primarily want to use my pc for sim racing, and daily pc tasks like school work etc. I’ve got a pretty good monitor from MSI that will do 4K at 144(MAG281URF) I have basically no budget but I’m torn on what I want vs what I need. I know people hate the term but I’m looking to future proof this build. And with the latest technology coming out I’m torn on what to build and when. Right now I’m planning on using a i7 13th gen K and a 4090 but I’m thinking do I really need it to be that powerful for what I’m doing.
It is a good question to ask yourself. RTX 4090 is a beast and the only graphics card that is easy to recommend to someone who is prepared to spend that much money. Because it has no competition. But should you spend so much? Only you can answer that. Maybe watch some benchmarks of games you want to play featuring other (cheaper) graphics cards on your wishlist. That may help you make a decision. i7 13700K is a fine CPU👍
Honestly, you may think you're overdoing it but with time you're stuff gets out of date quicker the lower you're specs what makes the CPU so annoying is that it needs a motherboard to match if it was just a CPU most of us wouldn't care this is why you want an i7 minimum but I always go with i9 for the high fps multiplayer matches. If money is no issue then 13900k is a no brainer as it saves you upgrading for a good 3-5 years ahead of the i7 depending on gains. The only thing you never want to be cheap on is the power supply gold or platinum and 300-500 watts more than what you're GPU needs this is because as the years go by newer GPU's will require more power and so when you need to upgrade your power supply won't need changing.
14th is gonna be much better with much lower power usage , even if its raptor lake refresh they will still have significantly improved pwoer usage because now they can incorporate things they had to ommit in raptorlake, how ever if its meteorlake then its going to be a whole other leauge of improvements
