@petersam4 I have kids, and I know for a fact toys like this get thrown around, some kids have a passion for throwing toys, sometimes it's just the way kids play. Pretty sure many other parents will back me up on this fact about childhood. That metal ( not wooden) Thomas would really hurt if it hit your face, its way to heavy for a small child's toy. Any one else agree?
An interesting thing to note is the way battery powered Thomas performs on the wooden tracks for which it is intended. It has great difficulty in asscending the grades of the wooden railway, and struggles to pull even two wagons up a slope.
@SI3DFilms i think it's sped up from memory, the poor thing is very much a slow critter it could be the camera angle as well as that can make things look faster than they really are, made lots of videos lately and this one seems like a distant memory
@nemowerty ah yes, but not all country's get served the same toys at the same time, and I feel no one ever revealed the sluggish performance and weight issues with this toy. considering every one seems to enjoy making their Thomas go faster it may help people decide if they really need this version of the wooden toys. i really don't see the need for the wooden range to have powered models, young kids just enjoy doing it themselves
@simierski thanks, the absolute first thing I noticed about this toy is the weight, now it will be interesting to see if anyone defends having a small very heavy metallic toy aimed at very young children. I dare saw the weight is there to enable any sort of traction, you would know all about that considering you hobby. I just question the need for the Thomas Wooden railway to need battery power, and sure I am not paid to do good news reviews! I try to do honest reviews.
As always Leo, a brilliant expose into a truly magnificent playground - you certainly have a knack for this stuff! Thumbs up. I will have to setup a play date time for me to come and visit with you mate!
i love that you do these videos !! My 3 year old and I enjoy all your comments and fail reels !! you rule ! thanks for all the great info in your videos !!
@tropicalfishswim Thanks for this info, there seems to be a divide has some tubers tell me their powered wooden Thomas goes much faster than mine. From what I could see this little fellow has no issues with pulling huge weights, the gradient and height to the Tomy bridge is as high. Maybe I should do another video on what this little engine can't do! I know one thing it is the slowest Thomas I own.
@cainman02 i see lots of the wooden range has motorized variants, and weird interactive version as well. i think the wooden range is best kept as hand powered, that's so much better to play with
@leokimvideo - it's definitely a good honest review. To put it in perspective chap, the battery Thomas is a 30 grams heavier than the Hornby Thomas! Now given what the Hornby thomas can do, the weight of the "wooden" thomas is unfathomable!
I find it weird how this video is not made for kids therefore you're allowed to comment on it but the video with Thomas the Tank Engine gets obliterated by fire was blown up and then he comes back to life and says that people are always trying to kill him no matter how useful he is that's made for kids and you're not allowed to comment on that but this is completely Rated R
very good review. loved the opening sequence to be honest i think that the jet engine thomas should be faster than the normal thomas. but they could at least speed it up (note i own very little thomas wooden toys i was more in too ertl wheni was young)
Do you have the take along or Tomy version of this? I once had the take along. For some reason it came with a fuel tanker. Good review. And a classic opening too. You rock Leo!
@Simcardlover I have seen in my son sometimes he gets excited and wants to throw a toy, young kids don't do it on purpose. If this metal ( no wood here) Thomas happen to hit sat your big expensive TV, or another child's face or yours it's going to really hurt. Often the wooden Thomas toys are purchased for the very young children, sadly I feel this toy is a tad too heavy to be in the hands of the very young, and I am thinking the under 5's
@kegs666 thank you, dare say the advice here is don't buy this toy, not sure if that message is clear enough. the lack of any speed is really sad and the weights worry me, imagine a little Thomas toy lodged in your $3000 TV! Sort of have to question the need for a battery powered wooden railway, kids are pretty good at playing out train action without the need for powered models
@ULTIMAFOX22 there was a comment on another video of mine which spoke of the Botox stare of todays Thomas toys, and thats so true. Not sure what they are doing to a face which is so carefully looked at by so many people. Maybe kids like that wide open eyes look, who really knows.
@TomixNscale89 the way I see it the gear ratio is set far too low for these toys, if the gears are set like this it's almost impossible to attain a fast speed no matter what speed the powering motor is doing. I always had a thought that the Thomas Jet Engine was all about speed and not a massive sinker weight!
Goofs: Thomas passes Diesel 10, Stanley, Harvey, Lady and Diesel multiple times and keeps teleporting. The Trees get knocked down 12 times, but there's 10 of them.
I think we humans have evolved to the point that we can make a powered toy train with 2 gears that you can switch between. 1 for hauling loads and another for speed.
@martin0mac2000 its from the side of me I don't really discuss on the tube, got to be careful of the terms and agreements here as we are to produce family safe content these days we can't have all the kids being mad bombers like me!
Now hosted on my channel chap - I had no idea about the weight, it didn't even occur to me! Guess I don't know my own strength. My biggest issue with the model is that it looks very little like the little blue tank engine in terms of basic shapes. Colour and livery, check - but then that face and the overall shape? Horrendous! Charlie says thank you by the way, we're looking at another present for Geraint to have instead.
simon just forwarded this to me, we've been looking after his godson recently, i had already bought the battery thomas for him and i'm a bit shocked now at the weight difference. 170g is very heavy for a child's toy
Im curious as to how you created the smoke out the back of the turbine? I saw in a few shots a small hose? or something stuck to the side produceing it, most likely something from your Pyrotechnician side.
My Jet engine Thomas goes super fast! Maybe yours if defective. Mine goes faster that my tomy thomas. Did you know they made a Trackmaster/Tomy Jet engine? You should look into it. The jet engine isnt powered but when it moves the red light flashes!
if the jet engine has the same motor as a tomy thomas, you can switch the jet engine motor with a plasma dash motor an then the jet engine will go faster. :)

I'm a huge Wooden Railway fan, this is an item I wished to collect back then.
Well play the game called "Wooden Railway Room" in Roblox then.
i liked the part when thomas moved
@SuperHOTrains there is a little pyro smoker hidden behind the jet or on the off side of the jet, it is seen in the bloopers bit at the end!
Now that I’m much older, I can appreciate all of the little wordplay Leo does even more.
An interesting thing to note is the way battery powered Thomas performs on the wooden tracks for which it is intended. It has great difficulty in asscending the grades of the wooden railway, and struggles to pull even two wagons up a slope.
"This thomas is able to pull plenty of rolling stock."
Shows Battery Powered Thomas carrying 6 engines.
THAT INTRO IS MAGIC
@SI3DFilms i think it's sped up from memory, the poor thing is very much a slow critter
it could be the camera angle as well as that can make things look faster than they really are, made lots of videos lately and this one seems like a distant memory
I think that this is your best yet & I really love how you do these reviews which is alot better than most reviews done by professional people
Can we all just appreciate Leo’s Thomas voice, so much nostalgia
@nemowerty ah yes, but not all country's get served the same toys at the same time, and I feel no one ever revealed the sluggish performance and weight issues with this toy. considering every one seems to enjoy making their Thomas go faster it may help people decide if they really need this version of the wooden toys.

Everyone: thomas the tank engine
Ramahfool: thomas the engine
Leokimvideo: *Thomas the tank*
oh yea. I forgot about ramafool. it feels like he doesn’t upload anymore.
Me: Thomas the Rocket Engine
Normies: Thomas the train
As always Leo, a brilliant expose into a truly magnificent playground - you certainly have a knack for this stuff! Thumbs up. I will have to setup a play date time for me to come and visit with you mate!
i love the vocie u gave to thomas

@fuckjustinbiber we can't have thomas blowing up, he's a classic
lol

Funny intro! :D
@MegaGreeny01 yes this metal wooden Thomas is a true heavyweight in the Thomas world
@ThomasMania24 thats really weird, i would like to now see one up against the other
slow jet engine is fail in my books
when i was a child i always love your videos when i was born in 2010
@cainman02 i see lots of the wooden range has motorized variants, and weird interactive version as well. i think the wooden range is best kept as hand powered, that's so much better to play with

@SBLKLKD some say the end is the best bit..!
Do you have the take along or Tomy version of this? I once had the take along. For some reason it came with a fuel tanker. Good review. And a classic opening too. You rock Leo!

They had 1 job

They're stupid
@Simcardlover I have seen in my son sometimes he gets excited and wants to throw a toy, young kids don't do it on purpose. If this metal ( no wood here) Thomas happen to hit sat your big expensive TV, or another child's face or yours it's going to really hurt.

@TrainzXtreme i am now seeing wooden interactive Thomas, same thing as Chuggers interactive
do kids need this sort of play?
Hah I remember watching your videos when I was young
Man I would love watching Leokimvideos on the family computer every weekend in the afternoon when I was little
@kegs666 thank you, dare say the advice here is don't buy this toy, not sure if that message is clear enough. the lack of any speed is really sad and the weights worry me, imagine a little Thomas toy lodged in your $3000 TV!

I love that thomas face. it’s based off of the 2d promo art of the early-mid 2000s
Ah the memories...
I love fast ones!
I find myself watching leokimvideo's despite having no interest in toys and lego ..... hahaha you make them so well sir.
I remember watching this when I was 4 years old
Me too
This man made my childhood

your life is amazing.
Goofs:
Thomas passes Diesel 10, Stanley, Harvey, Lady and Diesel multiple times and keeps teleporting.
The Trees get knocked down 12 times, but there's 10 of them.

Hear, how can the metal wooden thomas, be included in the wooden range if they are not ehem WOOD? or are the wheels wood?
Your somebodythst does amazing things I been watch for five year and your still good!
Wow!!!!!!!! That's fast
Thomas was my child hood! the originals with George Carin (RIP) as the narrator not the creepy CGI Shtuff!
This was a Great childhood Cartoon.
I think we humans have evolved to the point that we can make a powered toy train with 2 gears that you can switch between. 1 for hauling loads and another for speed.
I went to a target store and in the thomas section, i saw a battery powered Bertie.
Cute video
I remember I got this toy when I was like 4
I got when was three or sometime around that. I still have it mint in box after all those years!
I love the voice you gave thomas
@martin0mac2000 its from the side of me I don't really discuss on the tube, got to be careful of the terms and agreements here as we are to produce family safe content these days
we can't have all the kids being mad bombers like me!
@ThePlantDoctor i take this all very seriously

@My1234subsrcibtion pretty sure I paid $20, but that was while there was a 20% off sale
0:01 - 0:30, Poor Thomas LOL XD , great video :D

I'd love a powered thomas in take'n'play
Now hosted on my channel chap - I had no idea about the weight, it didn't even occur to me! Guess I don't know my own strength. 10 years later and I still watch
hey leo try the thomas and jet engine on racing down the rail's it goes SUPER fast!
I prefer the first edition of the battery powered Thomas. Because 1. It's a heckuva lot faster 2. It can go forward AND backward
I like them FAST
This just took me back
That battery-powered Thomas climbs hills better than my battery-powered Lady, which is odd.
simon just forwarded this to me, we've been looking after his godson recently, i had already bought the battery thomas for him and i'm a bit shocked now at the weight difference. 170g is very heavy for a child's toy
Intro was my 4 year old childhood
I remember watching this it was so funny
My grandparents still have the Wooden Railway jet engine and I’ve yet to hear it run.
I remember watching this!
wow fantastic baby
