Hey Guys, As you have probably noticed already i have updated the channel name and logo. The channel is no longer Really Random Channel it is now RRC Restoration. Just incase you were wondering why the water marks in the video still say Really Random Channel. Enjoy.
There's an incredible beauty to be found when rebuilding a completely clean, fresh bike. When you assemble it, you want to take time to step back and stare at the what you've assembled and what's next, knowing you don't want to fuck it up. You want to do it the cleanest way to avoid scratches or smudges.
Using the vise to press inthe sleeves brought back a lot of memories because that’s how my Dad did a lot of things around our own garage as we worked on Antique Sportscars, Motorcycles and boats many of the cars and Motorcycls were British and often the Imperial tools available in the United States wouldn’t work as intended we even pressed U Joints in and out of a drive shaft that was about 4 feet long so I stood on a ladder to get the alignment correct for the vise on super tight jobs it was common for my Dad to freeze parts in our kitchen refrigerator
My dad's uncle have one of this 28 years ago.because of this, this project reminds me a good old memories.keep up the good work man.good luck.from iran, esfahan
superb work its looking great and now the part ive been waiting for is next up its the heart surgery where it all comes together. the hrs of sanding painting the attention to detail and the skill used in it all but its that final beating heart and the smell of fresh oil and petrol as she bursts to life thats the reward.
in Vietnam the mechanic done alot like this but u doing better. Hope they can see ur video and will learn alot from this. Thanks man. U doing great job.
I’m really loving this series. I also like the style of the filming and some of the fun shots like when you move the bike lift. The minimal commentary and methodical and careful way you go about the renovation is so calming and relaxing to watch. Looking forward to many more videos. Thanks!
I feel stupid, i've had the same kind of lift for several years. I only thought the hatch was for servicing the hydraulic pump, never though that it could be used for easier wheel removal. I've been lifting the bikes with sketchy wooden blocks under the centre stand until now, duh'! Great project and videos, thanks!
Hey fantastic effort. It's always satisfying at the reassembly stage. There's something about seeing your hard work being put back together. Good luck with the engine.
Your getting closer and closer to finishing this project of yours and it's been awesome to see the progress from when you first started to now. I can't wait to see more awesome stuff from you in the future
Better than Netflix... Keep up the good work and looking forward to the conclusion! This has been an excellent series and I'm excited to see what other projects you have in line!
This is turning into one of the best restorations of it's type I've seen in here... I remember as a kid we used to turn these grandad bikes into field bikes...
Amazing...aku pernah punya motor cup 50 .. aneh gigi nya satu ke belakang dua ..tiga ke depan ..tapi tenaga nya super...i like it..its beautiful motor cycle..
All video sequences are very descriptive, can not be done better. Restoration process is also a schoolbook example of how to do. Thumbs up for "Really Random Channel". Hope it never end :-)
The level of detail is incredible. You would have to sell the bike for 5,000 $ to make any money at all. I do love watching and your speeding up the mundane parts makes the video very watchable. Thanks for all your work, It looks brand new so far!
Thoroughly enjoyed the C90 restoration project so far. I had one back in the 70s for commuting, your videos have taken me back! Keep up the good work! :)
Your galvanizing process is very good every time. I watched plenty of videos to get the process down to a simply works every time method I haven’t seen a single one unless it’s a commercial company doing it. Everyone else is learning to. Could you please share your process?
You, Sir, are a very talented engineer and a dab hand at cinematography. I just love these instalments and the speeded up sound effects. I can't wait for part 6. What is your next project, maybe an F15 fighter jet? I wouldn't put it beyond you.
In my early days in the trade i sometimes had to assemble these out if the crate. They came two in a crate with the handlebars packed to the side and the front wheel so you had to put those on, also the pillion rests as I recall and rear indicator's. So early on my brain was programmed blue wires right, orange wires left. Also that new bike smell. This looks like a Z2 to me.
You're welcome, it was all just part of work then of course and then not for long because things changed and I was doing parts all the time and there was someone whose main job it was to do them. It's always nice to see one revived and know that they didn't all rot away. @@RRCRestoration
In 1997 I bought a blue 1984 c90 for £25. I used it on the farm roads and woods for 6 months or so then sold it for £40. I wish I'd kept it now. I would love to do a resto like this but I don't think I would manage the engine overhaul bit.
Another great adventure! Oh just a heads up you need to tear into your oil pump side of the motor instead of having an actual oil filter these have a spot grime and dirt build up until it blocks oil flow to the top end. I believe it's called a trap can't remember. There is a video on here about it some where if I find it I'll give you the link.
Hey, Thanks for the comment and advise. the engine has been fully cleaned out for the build up so theres no trace of old oil or gunk left in any of the casings or oil galleries and the filter mesh has been cleaned ;)
Hi, I'm from Russia, i always watch your videos about motorbike, i will happy, if you make full restoration to normal road motorbike, (not scooter). Nice wishes!
Nice work, my only constructive comment would be to install the rear wheel spindle the other way around, to avoid having to remove the exhaust to take it off again.
Buenas tardes, excelentes videos sobre la restauración de esta moto ..... !!! Cuando salga el siguiente video ... El ensamblaje final de la motocicleta .. !! saludos desde Argentina
Greetings from Russia. Impressed with the work you have done and the attention to detail. I myself am passionate about retro cars. And for the restoration and cleaning of aluminum parts, using medical device dimexide/Dimexidum (Dimethylsulfoxide). It cleans very well almost all types of dirt on metals, including old paint. Get luck. Google translator.
I have one of these bikes but a newer version, year 1993 or the GBO-J with square headlights. Have some mods including electronic ignition with CDI. This bike is really easy to maintain and never easily break down except punctured tyres . So far this is really a good buy so far! Sadly it is no longer with me after I've sold it to someone who really needs it more than me.
Great series... and it looks like that you quite well know what you are doing. One Stop Shop knowledge - great! Do more projects like this - maybe a motorbike... ?
Thank you for your kind comment. Dont worry i have more projects lined up already and they will be coming soon. Im doing a full restoration on a 75 Honda TL125 ( complete basket case ) and i have a Ducati sitting awaiting some work as well so if you like bikes you should keep an eye out for this channel in the very near future ;)
Really Random Channel yes, cool. Looking forward! Maybe you can do some videos where you are also explaining what you are doing. I think you have great knowledge which you could share...
For anyone wondering, Gramatik - "Balkan Express" makes excellent background music for this video. *Also, Air grinder to polish those signal lenses = "THAT'S OUR FUCKIN BOY!"

Hello, I'm restoring a 1994 round headlight Honda Econo C90, and I've been watching a lot of your videos. Excellent help, thank you, genius.
This was the first bike I owned in the 70s, when I was a pennyless student. Brought back some memories, mostly good. Thank you very much.

Part 6 is now uploaded ;)
You really take great pride in your work and it shows!
Thank you very much :)
I came across your channel by accident and glad I did having once been the owner of a red C90 in the early 80's and wish I still had it.
This bike you can put in a shop and sell as new, because it's (looks) new. Best restoration i ever look at.
Thank you very much, Its turning out very nicely :)
