If you've never been blessed by having a loving and loyal dog that is adored by your whole family, you might think this story is not as important as many others. While that may be true, I can guarantee that for Athena & her family, it's an enormous relief--good news on a day with too little of that. The family watched their HOME float away, but thank God they all survived.
Awe!!! I'm so happy you all are okay and were blessed to get your Athena back in your arms!! I'm sending hugs and prayers that you get a home fast!!! 🙏🙏🙏
Lovely to see Thank You & thank you Fireman guy for "happening to look up" & see Athena 'sitting quietly' up in that tree ~ so glad you got to tell everyone on the news channel etc that she is one of the sweetest dogs you ever met. SOOO grateful she's survived & back with her family -as the Dad said, she's like another child, part of the family, means a lot to them, & she obviously loves them a lottttt too 😘💕🤗🥰🙏
What a sweet pup. But I just don’t get why one of the kids at the very least couldn’t have walked the poor pup to the car. My 6 yr is more than capable of walking not just our dogs but also all of our families dogs and friends dogs that we often keep. That’s from a tiny toy poodle (actually the worst of them all) to a mastiff and Great Pyrenees. Of course both the giant dogs could drag him if they wanted but they don’t bc they protect him instead. This pup that was left is clearly sweet as heck and very well behaved so she probably could have walked herself to the car!!
Absolutely, she would have run with them if they let her, she swam in 20 feet deep water and clung to a tree ……… sad they were out for themselves, then they shouldn’t own pets. 😡
I would urge you to consider that maybe you don't know all the facts. I know I would never leave my pets behind, but in this case it could have been a space issue. And maybe they thought they had time to make 2 trips, and were devastated to find out that wasn't the case, they have certainly paid for that mistake. Don't be too hard on them. Be kind. You don't know the whole story. And you don't want people making judgments about you without knowing all the facts. Give yourself and them some grace.
The way Athena is just hanging uncomfortably in the journalist’s arms awkwardly but just chilling happily anyway. I hope those parents value her and any other pets more than they did when they just left her behind for no good reason. It said “pets” as in plural were left behind in the house so some must have died and WHY? They could have put them all in the car quickly enough. Not like they had run off somewhere, all were locked in the house so WHY leave them behind?!?
Greatful that they were reunited ♥️ On that note, I would never ever leave my pets behind. Also, did they say they had lost their pets in the flood? They didn’t mention anything regarding the other pets 🥲
Thank God? this "all powerful" god that could stop hurricanes but instead chooses to sit quietly and watch the devastation? Ohhh he saved a dog, better get on our knees and grovel before him. Sheeze.

❤❤❤❤❤ Thanks all round to those rescuers and big hugs and pets to the rescue blood hound 🐾 for raising the alarm. So glad the whole family is reunited and safe. 🙏🏻
Oh what a sweet sweet pup. Thank you to all of the rescuers
What in the world would we do without our beloved animals? Thanking all those who came together to help rescue Athena and return her to her family. What a risk! Did you notice the condition of the ladder retrieved from being washed away? Thank You, Lord, it became a safe ladder for rescuing this precious dog!
Thank you lord Jesus for sparing her life ❤Amen 🇺🇸 🙏 🙌
Ohhh thank you bloodhound and Rescuers for her Safe Return ❤❤❤❤❤
I'm just sad for the REST of their pets 😢😢😢
That's one lucky pup.
❤😭😭🙏🏻 Thank you first responders!! Real life hero’s! 💜🙏🏻
This is Ruben AMEN 🙏🧸🧸🧸🧸🧸🧸🙏
Why don't families) people take all they're animals/. furbabies/. pets when they're evacuating from they're places/. homes/. houses. Why do they leave all the animals/. ..pets behind. .To go somewhere else to all be safe.
Omg I would never leave without my dog. Poor dog.
What a heartbreaking and heartwarming story at the same time. Pitbulls are such sweet dogs ..
l love them ..
Awe!!! I'm so happy you all are okay and were blessed to get your Athena back in your arms!! I'm sending hugs and prayers that you get a home fast!!! 🙏🙏🙏
I would not go anywhere without my dogs!
Such a Beautiful Reunion ❤
GOD BLESS THIS FAMILY AND PETS NOW AND FOREVERMORE
A heartwarming story. TY for sharing. God bless the rescuers, this family & Athena!!!
Lovely to see Thank You & thank you Fireman guy for "happening to look up" & see Athena 'sitting quietly' up in that tree ~ so glad you got to tell everyone on the news channel etc that she is one of the sweetest dogs you ever met. SOOO grateful she's survived & back with her family -as the Dad said, she's like another child, part of the family, means a lot to them, & she obviously loves them a lottttt too 😘💕🤗🥰🙏
What a wonderful story ❤❤❤
dogs are family. god bless the rescuers, and this family that's lost their home...
Ok they said pets that means more than one. What other pets pets did they have?
What a sweet pup. But I just don’t get why one of the kids at the very least couldn’t have walked the poor pup to the car. My 6 yr is more than capable of walking not just our dogs but also all of our families dogs and friends dogs that we often keep. That’s from a tiny toy poodle (actually the worst of them all) to a mastiff and Great Pyrenees. Of course both the giant dogs could drag him if they wanted but they don’t bc they protect him instead. This pup that was left is clearly sweet as heck and very well behaved so she probably could have walked herself to the car!!
HOW DUMB AND HEARTLESS TO TAKE HIS KIDS BUT LEAVE THE DOG YOU PEOPLE DON'T DESERVE THIS LOVELY DOG😡😡😡😡
Not just the dog; they mentioned other pets. Probably cats. Seems they don’t matter to them.
Exactly! And the fake cry 🙄
@@Sonomacats Exactly! It's not time to be judgmental of people who have lost all of their personal belongings and could have lost their lives!
Bless them. They’ve been through so much. I’m so glad they got their baby back.
These heartwarming stories in the middle of sad, tragic news is comforting. We pray that more ppl (and their pets) will be saved.
God bless the doggie and especially the heroes who rescued her🙏🙏💋💋😍
These people have lost everything. We must be grateful for all we have.
Beautiful family, God bless you all and your beautiful pet.❤
Shes such a good dog
GOD bless all the rescuers who cares for the doggies ❤
Where are their other pets?
Sadly dead
Greatful that they were reunited ♥️
On that note, I would never ever leave my pets behind.
Also, did they say they had lost their pets in the flood? They didn’t mention anything regarding the other pets 🥲
Remember to thank GOD daily!
This is so wonderful ty to all the hero's helping our fur babies get back with their families.THANK YOU
YOUR ALL HEROS.

Makes us all the more grateful. Love and prayers🙏
I WOULD NEVER LEAVE MY PETS! THEY'RE MY PRECIOUS BABIES & THEIR LIVES MATTER TO ME!
Poor baby Thank God ❤how people leave their pets ! She meant so much that they left her to die ❤
Thank God? this "all powerful" god that could stop hurricanes but instead chooses to sit quietly and watch the devastation? Ohhh he saved a dog, better get on our knees and grovel before him. Sheeze.
I came here to read sweet comments about this amazing reunion. I cant understand peoples judgment, none of you understand how fast that water was rising
Thank goodness she was sitting up and was rescued.
Even a small bit of happiness will help people get through❤
