A little about Fashion and Style Edit
I've worked in fashion for many years, and I love having a good chit chat, so it seemed natutral to join the two passions together:) And with so many outfit ideas and style tips swirling around my head I needed an outlet to share all that information! How to style outfits in a new way that you might not have thought of, or sharing how you can truly interpret the fashion trends in a really wearable way. I guess I have quite a classic style but with an up to date twist. I love neutral outfits, elegant, timeless pieces and sharing how you can really get the most out of your own wardrobe. Essentially, I just love helping people and fashion is what I know, inside out and with my eyes closed! One last chit chat before I hunker down for Christmas with my boys and I thought you might enjoy a little look at all my Winter coats and jackets:) Plus a bit of a declutter and organise of my rail and a sneak peek at my new reading glasses (they divide opinions!) But mainly, I really wanted to pop on here today to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. You are, in short, the loveliest collection of women and I feel so incredibly lucky to be able to chat to you all every single week. Thank you for all for being you, It's been an absolute pleasure sharing outfit ideas and styling advice with you all:) I'm looking forward to a fairly lazy, homely, blow the diet kind of Christmas with my boys and David, and I hope you have the most wonderful Christmas break wherever you are in the world. The glasses look AMAZING on you. I’ve been contemplating buying a nearly identical pair-they are chic and suit your face shape. I’ll also reiterate that these “in the closet” segments are my favorite. And finally, don’t be afraid to go back to brunette-I know you’d look lovely with dark hair. Happy Holidays.
Great segment. For the grease stain, use a dry talcum powder. Pat on the area, let sit until you see the stain come through the powder. Blow off the excess powder and brush off the rest with a brush made for suede leather. Repeat, if necessary. I've also successfully used flour.

My suggestion: take your shearling jacket to a dry-cleaner that specializes in leather. They can do amazing things, but I’m not sure the grease stain can be completely eliminated. Protein-based fibers like those in wool, silk, cashmere and leather, have a high affinity for
many organic, especially oily, substances that stain. Don’t wait, the sooner they start on it, the better. With every day that passes, spots become more permanent stains. This is why I spray all my light to medium colored leather/suede clothing, bags, footwear, etc. with two light coats of protective spray (allowing drying in between) before wearing them, it really helps keep them cleaner and it slows down the absorption of food or beverages spots into the material. I also keep a half paper towel in my bag to blot up (don’t rub) spots immediately, if one acts fast, it takes most of the spot off before it can soak in to the leather or fabric (paper toweling works much better than the tissues I also carry, it’s worth carrying one, the don’t take up much room). For mud spots or splashes, let the leather/suede dry completely, then dry-brush the mud off. Mud, soil mixed with water of course, is highly pigmented with minerals, mostly iron oxides. These, the first pigments we discovered as humans, and still very effective for coloring, do stain leather goods and fabrics, and rubbing forces them in to the leather or fabric. But, letting mud dry first can help it sit on the surface, where it can be brushed off when dry. I’m so sorry about your new jacket! My Mom had a saying “Never love any thing, things can happen to things”. Of course, how can we not love our beautiful wardrobes? I know I love mine!

Glasses are cool Jess. Don’t ever perm your hair, lovely as it is, I would give anything to have hair with that texture. I actually had a perm when I was 14, many moons ago and I swear it was never the same again!

I agree with Karen Bianco's comment on how to remove the grease stain...just put baby powder on top, it will come through the powder, then you can brush it away...of course, it would've been ideal to do it right away...you are great, love your style...enjoy the hollidays!!! Merry Christmas!!!...

My family celebrates Christmas nowadays with a restaurant dinner and no gifts. We women just got too exhausted giving those huge holiday dinners that take days of work, and buying gifts for so many people. This was, everyone has a great time and no one has to do the work, it’s so much better. There are no children around anyway, my niece, the youngest, is now 21! If I had children, I would try to give them the magical holidays that our Mom did for us, with a beautiful tree, lights and decorations, and multiple treats like pies and cookies, especially Christmas cookies (sugar cookies hand-decorated with multi-colored icing, sprinkles, etc.) many wrapped presents, stuffed stockings and the lot, but really, what we want most now is to be together as a family and enjoy a good meal.
Stain remover DAWN dish soap has NEVER let me down! Good luck ! Beautiful coat..

I got grease on my white sweatshirt..my daughter in law suggested carpet cleaner , followed the directions and it worked🙂👏 and I say the glasses are great! You can rock those !🌟
Love the glasses Jess! I rotate three puffer coats and have one long wool dress coat if I want to look more stylish, and be somewhat chilly. Rarely happens here in northern Canada.

Jess, I love the sneak peak into your closet. I also love the double clothing racks. I have a beautiful long black windowpane (green) coat. It is fitted and looks gorgeous but I cannot wear bulky sweaters with it. I had purchased a second black dress coat for my husband since it was on sale for such a great price. This has become my oversized black coat. It is a bit shorter, hitting me at the knee but I love how it looks and I saved a lot of money by not having to buy a second black coat :)

Hey Jess, oh you really do have a dream wardrobe! I still wear denim jkts or bikers in the winter as we do have mild days and if you go shopping you really don't need a coat. Haha had to laugh about the perm, my photos from the 1980's are firmly locked away, I made many poodles jealous as hell all across the country 🙈. Hi Jess, I love your videos so much! After an earlier video where you talked about your favourite coat from Cos, I bought the current version you mentioned. I suspect that's what you have on order - if so, I'm sure you'll love it as much as your old one. I'm very happy with my purchase and know it will last me for many years.
For the stain on your gorgeous shearling jacket try corn start. It was recommended to use on my husbands new UGG slippers when he got grease on them I hope it works for you. 👍
Hey Jess, excellent end of year video. I love ‘blow the budget’ Sézane jacket. Try a bit of fairy washing up liquid and cold water in a small cloth; great for removing grease. Not sure about the perm but love the quirky glasses even if they do look a bit like Harry Potter 😂😂😂

Those glasses look great! Keepers, for sure. I have to wear glasses for driving and some work, so I like to have one pair of Silhouettes brand ones, they’re frameless and nearly disappearing, and one very bold pair like your new ones, I love both looks. The Silhouettes glasses are the most comfortable ever, but they are so barely there that they really do disappear once I take them off! So, if I have to change back and forth with my Rx sunglasses, like for a day going in and out of shops, I wear my bold pair, so I can see them and keep track of them better. For a long working day, the Silhouettes are amazing, I can’t feel them at all, they’re as comfy as contacts, which I’m not supposed to wear anymore (I have a problem called corneal erosion, but sneak them in for some shorter special occasions, but do pay the price after, in pain). I have two different styles of Rx sunglasses, too, which is really fun, I never could afford the luxury of such choice until recently. I’m farsighted, so I have to read or do close-up work without glasses.
Talcum powder takes grease stain out of any fabric. Leave overnight and vacoom it off in the morning. If not fully gone, repeat. Good luck

Hi Jess, thank you for posting. I’m struggling with buying a winter coat and being a petite girl, it would have helped me to see all the coats on you and where they hit you on your leg. I’ve returned several coats due to feeling weighed down, they weren’t water resistant, or just too long. Where should a long coat come to anyway? To your knee? Past your knee? I can only afford one coat this year so a type and/or style you could suggest would be appreciated. 😊
Ok I never reply or comment 😊 but I do have the best stain remover recipe: Cover the stain with Dawn Dish soap (must be blue) then sprinkle baking soda, followed by white vinegar and this will cause it to bubble , and for those stubborn stains I will top with peroxide. Let sit for at least 10 minutes. At this point you can wash gently by hand or machine or you can blot until all the soap is removed. This work on just about any surface. Hope it works for you.

@@FashionStyleEdit I also almost never comment, but I have to break in, sorry Lulu:) but this recipie will ruin real sheerling, it's too harsh for seepskin. And of course it can't be washed. It will shrink the skin. Such stains can be removed with corn starch or baby powder. You may need to apply it several times, but it will make the stain almost invisible. And before storing it away in spring consider dry clean or at least spray some dry shampoo to the collar area. Otherwise this beautiful white fur will turn yellow over time. Didn't know that with my previous jacket which I loved so much, now I'm planning to take better care of the new one

The glasses are great, clearly I love glasses as I wear them. I will say that with a wild perm look they may have been too contrasting and fought with each other with. I can't see them with a big head of curls but I do love them with your regular hair. Also, cloths would matter, they look great with what you are wearing but maybe not so much with some of your other clothes.

For grease stains use baking soda( bicarbonate powder) directly on the stain and just let it sit overnight or longer, and voila! The grease should be gone.

Alas, I finally ordered the Christie blazer in camel in a size 46, thinking that slightly oversized would be best. I’ve already tried blazers in other brands and find the 44 sometimes a bit tight so thought I’d just go up a size. Mistake. I was swimming in the blazer and had to send it straight back. Just waiting for the « avoir », or store credit before I reorder in a smaller size. Crossing my fingers that the 44 will still be there when it comes time to reorder. Still, the quality is amazing. I was so sad to have to send it all back.
I loved have perms on my straight-ish hair in the 80s. Strangely, now that it’s going gray, it’s turned quite wavy, even downright curly in the underneath layers. It looks rather like I used a crimping iron, but very badly. I’m going to try one of those layered cuts in the spring, it’s the top layers that are the least curly, so cutting them should bring out the curls more. That type of curly texture, natural or permed, looks best if air-dried and it’s too cold to ditch my hair-dryer right now. I’ll have to get my courage up for next autumn! I didn’t realize that one’s hair texture could change that much, but my Mom’s did get wavy, and my Dad has curly hair, well he did when he had any hair! (At age 93, there’s not enough left to tell). Unfortunately, as it grays, my hair is thinning and has become a lot more fragile, too, and tangles like mad, the layering should help. It’s been so long now that I wouldn’t be surprised if perms can “back in” soon, but they can’t, or at least shouldn’t, be done to bleached hair.

I like the shape of the glasses on you, but I think the black color is too stark with your hair and coloring--perhaps the same shape frame but in a light tortoise or amber color?
