The Wood is the movie of my life. Here are some fun facts: Malinda Williams is older than Sanaa Lathan, six years older than DeAundre Bonds & 10 years older than Sean Nelson. She played a junior high & high school student & she was believable. Christina Milan & Li’Maya Good (The sister of Megan Good) was in the movie. Malinda, DeAundre & Boo played by Antwone Tanner were also in Sunset Park. Omar Epps & Sanaa Lathan were also in Love Basketball, Taye Diggs & Sanaa Lathan were also in The Best Man, Brown Sugar & The Best Man Holiday & Richard T. Jones & DeAundre Bonds were also in Lockdown. The director Rick Famuyima & his friends were in the convenient store when Roland was drunk. The movie was based off of him & his friends. 4:45
I was gonna add a piece saying that Mike & Alicia went on to play basketball and then he blew his knee out (oops, spoiler). Strange casting as Malinda Williams don't look like Sanaa Lathan ... plus she's older. I'm guessing there's a story behind that.
that's what i was thinking ... but then they'd have to explain Epps character not changing. i guess they wanted completely different characters between adolescence & adulthood? Dope is underrated ... or not ... at least, I don't hear many people speak of it.
