Loved this interview. I have only recently come across your podcasts and have alot of watching to do. Looking forward to learning and loving the display of items you have made or are working on.😊
Thank you for showing how to pick up the stitches for the sleeves. I fondly remember my Addi-Click tunesian crochet hooks whenever I see something like that (also the 3 needle bind off benefits from them). The Crochet hooks are of course compatible with knitting needles from the same company, so the wires fit both. For the buttons of Andrea's cardigan, I'd have selected something like gray mother of pearl buttons, that match the small "belt" design which goes around the waist. Make one fake and one real button alternating, to blend in with the other design elements.
First of all. Your sweater you made for your husband is amazing. The colors are glorious and the amount of pattern work in it is huge! You are a wonderful knitter. And Thank you for having that talk with Joji! It was so informative. I've knit three of Joji's shawls and I love them. So this talk with all her background on knitting and seeing her yarns and sweaters was a joy to see. Your podcasts are always so informative. They always make me think of something else I would like to knit! Thank you!
Hello from the US! I came across your videos from Joji's Ravelry page and haven't been able to stop watching. I am an advanced kniter myself, and to my absolute amazement I learn something new and helpful from each episode. Thank you so much for taking the time to make and post such informative videos. You all have have such a lovely family. Best wishes!
Have just found your podcasts and noticed that you were interviewing Joji. I recently finished one of her designs, Recoleta, and gave the Cardigan to my daughter for Christmas in which she had selected the yarn. My daughter just loves it! Thank you, Joji, for your wonderful patterns and thank you, Andrea and Andrew for podcasting these terrific shows!
I think with your fantastic preparation and interview you inspired Joji to make her own video journal, which she started three years ago. What a fantastic inspiration ♥
Thank you - Joji is great. We saw you're into fleeces, spinning, etc. Make sure you watch the interview with Eugene and Ann Bourgeois in Episode 7. Their story of the Philosopher's Wool Company is very inspiring.
Thank you so much for the lessons, I love the detail on the bottom edge of Andrews sweater/jumper. I never thought about doing this, but now I definitely will be trying this feature.
I have just recently found your podcast. I am really enjoying it. I have been a knitter for almost 10 years but have really never challenged myself all that much. You and Andrew have really inspired me to take on some of the patterns I have only admired from afar. I have also begun to teach myself to knit continental (I'm a flicker) so that I can use both hands. I have always thought fair isle was out of reach for me but I am thinking my 2017 goal may be to finish a fair isle project. Thanks so much for the inspiration, technical lessons, and most of all a beautifully produced show.
Have enjoyed your podcasts immensely. I am only an advanced beginner with my knitting and find you very inspiring. What a beautiful person and designer is Joji Locatelli!! I hope to be able to tackle one of her shawl patterns soon. Looking forward to your next podcast.
I so enjoy your Podcasts, they are so interesting, I am learning so much from Andrew and yourself. Thank you for taking the time and energy to make these podcasts.
amazing interview! Thank you! I just realized that the next project I am planning is a sweater for my daughter by Joji I just bought the pattern last week.
I always adored red hair and I always wanted to be a redhead with lush thick hair. I would consider the names "ginger and carrot top" as a compliment, haha. When I grew up in Germany, beeing the child of a german father and a greek mother, it was very hard. It was the 60s and 70s and there weren`t many foreigners around yet. As the child of a "Gastarbeiter" mother I always wanted to look like the other german girls. Many of them had blond, straight hair. We did have two redheads in our elementary school class :-) One a boy and one girl. :-) As the years went by I learned to love my hair and myself more and more and that was very freeing. Now I can apprechiate other peoples beauty without comparing it to mine and enjoy the wonderous variety there is in our world. Lovely podcast as always Andrea and Andrew.
Bluey is an amazing knitter, thank you for showing all of the sweaters you knit, I especially like the black and white one with the shawl collar. Keep it up.
Viel Glück und viel Segen auf all Deinen Wegen, Gesundheit und Frohsinn sei auch mit dabei. Happy birthday, Andrew! What a magnificent gift you received from your talented wife. More then well done, Andrea! I have seen this episode up to here. The rest comes later. :)
I'm fairly new to your podcast and am hoping to get a chance to catch up on previous episodes but in the meantime enjoying the new ones immensely!! Loved the interview with Joji - I am a huge fan! Thank you for bringing her to us!!
Loved the podcast thank you for posting the little three minute clips showing techniques, you teach very well. If you ever post an episode about casting on methods that demonstrate stretchy versus not so stretchy edges that would be very much appreciated by this beginner knitter, thank you from California
Thanks. We do have some technique videos - go to the fruityknitting channel and you'll find a playlist on techniques. If that doesn't give you what you need, then check out Very Pink Knits on RUclips. I think she has a video for just about every technique.
I love your podcast! Its so inspiring...I'm weaving a blanket right now, think when I'm done I'll knit something for my son. Why is it when you see someone knitting it just makes a person want to grab they're needles? lol
Joji speaks of knitting on planes. Have you ever covered the regulations re carrying knitting needles? I am watching the podcast consecutively ... & this is where I am; thanks
Just to add, the buttons seem to pick up on the circles round the sort of waist green band. But it is hard to tell on screen. Buttons are a real problem, it is so hard to find a good selection of interesting modern buttons in a variety of colours... A gap in the market there I think
I cannot use such scratchy wool too but you can use a super wash yarn and instead use a reinforcement row of sewing up the line of stitches either side before you cut. There are tutorials on reinforcing steeks before cutting them.
Ginger is a complimentary term in the US . BLUEY ...? I wonder if it’s o.rigins go back to King Henry vlll and the tudors ... Referring to royalty or”blueblood? Very interesting how something rare and prized for its beauty in some countries is not in Others Women in many countries use a natural henna dye to capture the rich auburn glow .In any case your hair gleams. I’d trade it for my boring brunette !
I didn’t mind being called Red or Carrot Top but I did mind being tease because I was short for my age. I finally reached 5ft 1 1/2 inches in college. I’m almost 70 yrs old so I’ve lost back to 4’ 11” due to degenerative disc disease. I love the buttons!
Was meinst du? LG Konstanze
oh why do knitting demonstrators always use dark yarn to show the samples? it's so hard to SEE what you're doing. Use lighter yarn please, please, please. xxx
Loved this interview. I have only recently come across your podcasts and have alot of watching to do. Looking forward to learning and loving the display of items you have made or are working on.😊
OMG Bluey! WOW! I am at a loss for words if I find them they'll be gushing over you creations, designs and/or art!
I'm a redhead too...with 3 redheaded children. The name GINGER is not allowed in our household. thank you for sharing! Love your podcast!

Best podcast ever. And Joji Locatelli is the best designer to come along in awhile so I really enjoyed the interview.
Andrea, yes I enjoy and learn from your reeking techniques. When you show the wrong sides of your fair isle garments, I'm fascinated. Thanks!
Oh I love Tim Winton. I must read Breath again. Beautiful podcast, so interesting and inspiring
I think with your fantastic preparation and interview you inspired Joji to make her own video journal, which she started three years ago. What a fantastic inspiration ♥
Lovely interview with the beautiful Joji Locatelli! I especially enjoyed the video of her knitting and the music at the end. Brava!
Thank you - Joji is great. We saw you're into fleeces, spinning, etc. Make sure you watch the interview with Eugene and Ann Bourgeois in Episode 7. Their story of the Philosopher's Wool Company is very inspiring.
The cardi is stunning and the buttons draw your eye to the lovely shaping on the front. I like the buttons

Thanks, Iris. We also love the interviews.
What a beautiful interview with Jodi! I loved her pictures and the whole historical aspect of her story.
Love the buttons, Andrea. They add the little bit of sparkle to your cardigan.
Have enjoyed your podcasts immensely. I am only an advanced beginner with my knitting and find you very inspiring. What a beautiful person and designer is Joji Locatelli!! I hope to be able to tackle one of her shawl patterns soon. Looking forward to your next podcast.
Thanks, Diane. We do hope to inspire people to push their boundaries, so stick with it and be brave!
Every time you post a new podcast, I feel it is my favorite. This is the best! Thank you so much for the music which added so much to this episode.
I so enjoy your Podcasts, they are so interesting, I am learning so much from Andrew and yourself. Thank you for taking the time and energy to make these podcasts.
Great video. Love Jojis' designs. The yarn Joji uses always looks so beautiful in color & drape...I get yarn envy LOL
Thanks for watching.

I have seen this episode up to here. The rest comes later. :)
Danke Susanne. Mit dem schönen Pulli kann ich mich auf das kalte Wetter freuen! Grüße aus Offenbach! Andrew
Leave the buttons alone! They pick up the design on the waistband ! Absolutely gorgeous cardigan.
I'm fairly new to your podcast and am hoping to get a chance to catch up on previous episodes but in the meantime enjoying the new ones immensely!! Loved the interview with Joji - I am a huge fan! Thank you for bringing her to us!!

Thank you so much!
Awesome interview ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you, Beans.
I like your buttons, they go well with the dotted border, so I think you should keep them.
Thank you!

Love the podcast! Keep the buttons!!
Thanks, Noreen.
LOVED THIS ONE!!!!
GOOD!!!! (-;
A + A
I agree with your hesitation about the buttons....they'd be much more beautiful if they were darker and matched the knitting.
I love your podcast! Its so inspiring...I'm weaving a blanket right now, think when I'm done I'll knit something for my son. Why is it when you see someone knitting it just makes a person want to grab they're needles? lol
Stick to your knitting is what we say, Susan!
Bluey’s cardis are great!
oh my gosh, Andrew looks like a beginner knitter how cute!
The steek episodes are fabulous!
Son una hermosa pareja, los amo, hace poco los descubri, y muchos cariños desde Buenos Aires , Argentina, besos a los dos , son maravillosos
Joji speaks of knitting on planes. Have you ever covered the regulations re carrying knitting needles? I am watching the podcast consecutively ... & this is where I am; thanks
The conditions seem to have eased off since the original changes, but we always consider it possible that we will be told to give up the needles...
@@FruityKnitting thanks
Just to add, the buttons seem to pick up on the circles round the sort of waist green band. But it is hard to tell on screen. Buttons are a real problem, it is so hard to find a good selection of interesting modern buttons in a variety of colours... A gap in the market there I think
It is hard to buy buttons online, so you're confined to what you can find locally.
For a sweater like you're wearing, what do you think of crocheted buttons?
where is the pattern for the "Fire Bird" by Jade Starmore? is it in a book or on Alice's website?
Are knitting needles allowed on planes?
Hi I’m trying to understand why you need to even keep the steel that you trimmed on this episode since you picked up those stitches already. Thank you
Oh Andrew when I see you do a purling row I can not stop thinking........try Portugese purling. It is so much easier when knitting on circulairs ☺️
Astrid - Andrew here. I promise I will try it, but not for a while yet. Not too many challenges at once... And my normal purling is really going ok.
Does this hooky wool what causes itchy wool on the skin ? I want to make a fair isle but my skin is extremely sensitive , thanks to Fibromyalgia.
I cannot use such scratchy wool too but you can use a super wash yarn and instead use a reinforcement row of sewing up the line of stitches either side before you cut. There are tutorials on reinforcing steeks before cutting them.
You got off lightly being called Ginger, Andrea ... I got called BoBo! Do you remember BoBo?
❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏿
Just what we like to hear! Thanks, Yvetta.
