I live about 2 miles from the port so here is a little advice for those that drive to the port. when you get off at 14A and proceed straight to the little bridge in front of you there will be 2 choices, 1 Route 440 south and 2 Chosen Few WAY . To make life easier for yourself take the sign for Route 440 South continue on 440 south in the left lane to the first light ( COSTCO ) make a left at the light and continue straight, If you take Chosen Few Way you will have to fight to make the left hand turn onto Goulsboro Dr that takes you to the port. Also there is a Walgreens and Starbucks along with a LIDL Food store if you forgot anything
Thank you! Life saving! Driving ~7 hours from Canada to this port. My stress level just got to zero :D Subscribed! Best Video for Cruising when you drive! Even the Walmart or Costco. I can sleep in my car if I got there too early!
EXCELLENT VIDEO, very helpful and easy to understand. I love the arrows showing the street signs. I am going on a cruise in May 2020 so this was very very helpful. I saved it for future reference. thank you1
Great informative video as we wanted to watch it for our upcoming Bermuda cruise on Celebrity Summit this June. We have never driven to a cruise port and Cape Liberty seemed like a perfect port as we are driving in from Montreal, Quebec. I’m sure the port hasn’t changed much except parking prices👍
Glad the video was helpful! That's the same cruise we took out of Cape Liberty, so make sure you check out our videos for the Celebrity Summit and Bermuda! We hope you enjoy your cruise!
It's definitely worth looking into. We've taken cruises out of Cape Liberty, NJ and Manhattan Cruise Terminal and find both of them to be very easy. The lines at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal can get a bit long during disembarkation, so we usually just find a secluded place to hang out on the ship and play card games while we wait.
Thanks for this. We're heading out of there in July and I like to know as much as possible when going there. Even though we'll be doing a Lyft or Uber to get there, it's nice to have all of this info.
We sailed on the Celebrity Summit, which holds about 2,200 passengers and did not notice any issues with finding parking. According to the Cape Liberty Cruise Port website, "No reservations are necessary and parking is guaranteed." www.cruiseliberty.com/directions_parking.html Hope this helps!
@@TheJellyBeans Yes it does thank you for the link. After watching your video I did reach out to a friend that sails from that port a few times a year and he did say the lot was full one time but they will guide you to an alternate open parking lot. So it's all good. Thanks again.
Are you able to use a pre-paid gift card (like a Visa) to pay for your parking? Also. I see they only listed the prices for a 5 day and 7 day cruise. If you are on a six day cruise, would the amount be something in between the two? Thank you for this informative video. First cruise scheduled for October 2024!!
The website lists parking as $30 per day (as of May 1, 2023): www.cruiseliberty.com/directions_parking.html If the gift card acts as a credit card, then it should work okay, but you may want to contact them prior to your cruise to make sure: www.cruiseliberty.com/terminal_info.html#contact_info
According to the cruise port website, "Porter service is available to assist with luggage retrieval and transfer to your planned method of transportation." Hope that helps! www.cruiseliberty.com/passenger_info.html
Other than driving/taxi/rideshare, we're not exactly sure how to get there from NYC. However, if you were looking to fly into the area, Newark Liberty International Airport would be the closest option. The airport is on the other side of the Newark Bay from the port area and is only 10 miles away by taxi/rideshare. Hope this helps!
@@TheJellyBeans Thanks for the reply. Taxi is very $ and you may run into traffic from Manhattan. Will go with the subway, PATH train, NJ Transit train then a taxi. It just a pain to get back that way too. I may just do a line that leaves from NYC.
I'm a part of a Facebook group that consists of members that have reservations (or planning a trip) with a cruise line that departs from Bayonne, NJ. It's ironic that you presented this question, as I posted something similar. Utilizing public transportation between NYC and this particular part if NJ is not a seamless process - at all. From what little information I've researched so far is that you'll have to (literally) pay for the convience of a car service or use your own vehicle and pay for long-term parking. Choices, choices, choices...😏
Uber and Lyft are the two most popular ride share companies in the US. There are several others, but those are the ones you have likely heard of. Hope this helps!
Great video. Just the facts, none of the superfluous BS you get on most cruise/travel videos. Thanks
So glad you enjoyed the video!

I live in Connecticut. I should look into taking cruises based in NYC- probably a lot cheaper than flying/driving all the way to Florida.

Awesome directions and important information. Great job!!!
Very, very useful information. Thank you
Thanks, very informative!
Thank you very informative and helpful.
Great video, very detailed. Curious, with most ships carrying 4,000+ passengers is a 900 car parking lot sufficient?

I sailed out of Cape Liberty on Oasis Of The Seas in June 2022 and we were directed to an Open Lot. The garage was for Handicap Only.
Great info, Joe. Thanks!
This is a great video I really needed this thank you so much for taking the time out to help us
Glad it was helpful!
This was helpful and clear.
Thank you so much for this video!

Thank you for this very helpful video. When returning to the port is there any help taking luggage to the garage?
According to the cruise port website, "Porter service is available to assist with luggage retrieval and transfer to your planned method of transportation." Hope that helps! www.cruiseliberty.com/passenger_info.html
What’s the parking called? Is this the actual cruise terminal parking garage?
The parking garage we show in the video is the actual cruise terminal parking garage, which is located right next to the cruise terminal.
How do you get to and from the port easily from New York City? There seems to be no direct way to get there like the airports.

I look it up you can take the bus from 42 street terminal and then take a taxi
What is a ride share?? Thank you

I don't even know that I can't travel with public transportation!! Jes :(
This is cake compared to Manhattan. This alone may decide our cruise line.
the place is deserted when there's no ship. also lots of pot holes and condemned buildings
