Late comment: I am still suprised that the company behind gungrave also worked on this with the makers of hyper dimension neptunia. Strange collaberation. But I like it.
The only way to get this on PS3, unfortunately, was to download it. It's a great Compile Heart/Idea Factory game. First one I played was Thousand Arms.
Another very nice review. I quite enjoyed both Agarest 1 and 0, however it was Agarest 2 that really stepped it up for me. It has quite a different battle system so you may enjoy it a tad more. I notice you have done a couple of SRPG reviews so far; if you're not really into the battle systems of the genre, it may be best to put those to the back of the list. If I were to give any suggestions for a game next to play/review, it would be Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. I'm presuming you haven't tried it yet, but I still think you might take to it. It's got wonderful music, great characters, a really fleshed out world and it also has some adorable little character models. A lot of passion went into this series and both 1st and 2nd chapter are up on PSN for download on the Vita.
+sheriakeri yeah i am not a big fan of the battle system and I just take longer to play srpg. I try not to do too many at once lol. I will differently look into it thank you for the suggestion :3 Gaming Goddess
The trick is to leave the game going in a quest place and then put auto mode on. Then get the "Slay (insert number) Monster." achievements. Should make the battle system a little easier. It will give you TP, Ep and some EXP.
I played RoA War Zero and in that one, you have to beat the game once if you don't have a save file from this game before hand. Then you can start a NG+ and go through a quicker version of this game while playing Zero. I played most of Zero on auto battle. But you have to be careful because the AI, isn't always the brightest. Also, the bosses can be a pain. A majority of them will one shot regardless of your stats so it actually takes a little bit of planning. But with some cheesing with the Zero characters and this games characters that you can unlock, it's not so bad.
nice review! always wanted to play this (after experiencing the 'punitively rewarding' experience of Record of agarest war 2...and platinum'ed it...). AW2 was demonic in such a way too....
Honestly this game is very interesting for trying to push the boundaries of traditional rpgs in a way that most games don't try to. Its not easy but if you are willing to put in the time and effort it is a fun and rewarding game. I think its the best rpg series that no one is talking about. Thus I was glad to see that you were in fact talking about it.
Couple of questions : can the voices be turned off? And how important is the dating sim part for the overall progression? Because I have zero interest in that aspect of the game. About your reviews, will you try out more lesser known PS games in the future (especially PS2. there were so many games on that system, I'm sure there are still a bunch of hidden gems a lot of gamers never heard about)? The Poison Pink and Sky Gunner reviews, along with this one, are well written and informative, I hope we will see more of that in the future. Not trying to be mean, but I think there are already more than enough Minecraft, Undertale and Resident Evil 2 videos on RUclips. Focusing on other games could help you stand out a bit more. But I know the popular games usually attract more viewers, so it depends on what kind of audience you want to cater to. In any case, keep up the good work.
+bil Well to answer your first question, no voice acting can not be turned off. Also yes the Soul breeding is an important game play feature since it determinants the next generation's out come. There are a lot of ps, as well as ps2 games that I plan to get around to reviewing. I am glade you enjoy the reviews and I completely understand what you are saying about the more "trendier" games. I love to entertain and informing my viewers of all kinds. I don't like to think I am catering to just one type of person I want everyone to be able to enjoy my videos :3 Gaming Goddess
It took me like 80 hours to beat this game on easy, with a guide, with one hit kill weapons/stats. Also for the final generation, you have to pick your heroine (of witch there is 9) before fighting the final boss and then going through basically a 70 (or 110 on hard) back to back boss fight final dungeon to see the credits and heroine CG of your choice and have the option for new game plus. fuck. that. That would literally take me longer than beating the entire game off to play agarest zero and agarest 2 :P
The is very long but I guess there are people out there who will do it. I wouldn't mind playing the 2nd one when I can get a copy of it myself :3 Thanks for watching ! Gaming Goddess
The Battle System is the best part of this game. Strategic movement, Linking Combos and attacks. Plus if you are too lazy to learn the Battle System, you can put it on Auto Battle Mode and The AI will fight and win for you. Sit back and watch the show. Just Level up and upgrade your characters with equipment.
I keep my reviews as honest as possible. I say what I like about it and what I don't like. Looking back I may enjoy the record of agarest war games more now because I've play so many strategy rpgs more recently and decided i don't hate it as much. Gaming Goddess
Hahah I read this and was like "what really?!" I didn't remember all weapons costing the same amount until I rewatched it. Yeah those are just basic weapons lol. Gaming Goddess
Very good review. You did a good job. It's strange to see girls having an interest in gaming as gaming has always primarily been a thing for boys that girlfriends, wives, and sisters look at guys with that sort of look of how gaming us such a waste of time but they tolerate them and us because, in their mind, allowing theirs guys to game is a small price to pay to keep a relationship. That's changing of course, and with the "I AM WOMAN, HEAR ME ROAR AND ANYTHING YOU CAN DO, I SHOULD BE ABLE TOO" mentality and feminists trying to infiltrate every aspect of man's life to prove that absurd and scewed interpretation of how man thinks, some female gamers understand what we see which is the fact that games are the culmination of every art form and an appreciation for technology. That's why it's so odd for us to find a female that has an interest in games and we freak out. Women want that emotional connection and maybe that's what it's like for us. This "holy crap you get me!" sort of thing. Anyway, it's just shocking for us, I suppose, but it's good to hear females doing not just reviews being all annoying and flipping out, but a professional sort if review like this. Soothing indeed. Best review I've heard, not only from a female reviewest, but overall in a long. I don't do it often, but I'll LIKE your video. Keep em coming.
your voice is so soothing
