So...you're saying there are no good games for the PS3, Wii, and PC combined? The only game that I've missed on the 360 that I care even a little bit about is Halo 3.
Thank you for that review. I feel much better for asking for the Ghostbuster Wii game for my Birthday. Besides I COULD GET A WII PROTON PACK!!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Just bought the game yesterday, and needless to say I'm nothing but pleased up till this point. Yes, the graphics are cartoony but they're still relatively nice looking and suit the game perfectly. The gameplay itself is fun as hell though, as the Wii's controls allow you to really get into it whenever you're catching a ghost. Great game overall!
This game is actually more entertaining than the PS3 or 360 versions, the graphics are more ghostbuster-ish and the controller rocks. P.S: I own a Wii and a 360
well, with the Wii Zapper you put the remote and nunchuck in the accessory. So what I mean is that you have to either throw the trap before you start battling or before you get the capture stream around the ghost.
the wii version character design is actually pretty different and i like it in a way,the wii version of ghostbuster is more for little kids (not an insult others can still play it) so kids dont gets scared of the weird looking creatures that are huge in the dark chasing you and all that i think the wii version overall, not half bad
Comparing this to the 360 version that I have, there some moments, ghosts, and areas unique to the Wii version. For example, in the Sedgwick Hotel, after you capture Slimer, you go after Chef Deforest instead of Pappy Sargassi like in the 360 version.
all three Prime games in a set/disc or are we talking about the loose new play control metroid 1-2 and the Wii Metroid 3? the set idea sounds like a good deal.
Like I said, it's a personal preference, if we're going on looks only some people will argue that the Wii looks better just because they like the cool of cartoons more then realism. All I'm saying is don't think something looks bad just because of the art style.
the fun thing about the ps3 version is that the graphics and gameplay gives you the feeling that you are playing a movie, but the wii version loses this, it does have the wii motion off cource...something i missed on the ps3...
I personally think its cool they didnt attempt to cram graphics from the 360/ps3 version and they took the cartoon type path. It makes it more unique, after all the wii is a family type console. and i love how people who just play one console xbox/ps3 say ohh this has bad graphics.everything isnt revolved around graphics my friend...new age gamers only want to see flashy realistic graphicswho cares about the gameplay but none the less this is an actually good review by IGN. for once lol
@SonicSnail95 That's what the designer claimed, if I recall. Nintendo's focusing more on gameplay, and less on graphics. It's like a reverse Sega Genesis, or an Atari Jaguar, only the Wii isn't pushed around and it doesn't need a bunch of add-ons.
@Legoghost14 what 'older ones'? sounds to me that the X360 version is the same as the Ps3 version. that i also have. graphics arnt the most important in a game, its the gameplay. the Wii version looks like a cartoon, but i havnt played it yet. the wii mode could be fun if they programmed it right
more like a 25th aniversary game. unlike most movie games this one wasnt rushed to cash in on a movie release. i have the Ps3 version and the gameplay is great and the story is like what a movie 3 could have been. they did a good job on this one.
I swear, that little statement talking about Playstation editors reviewing Wii games came from AVGN...oh well. The Wii version seems to pale in comparison to the PS3/X360 version when it comes to graphics, but the motion control makes this game really stand out for the Wii.
I think the wii is overall a very amazing system because of its unique variety of games. Id say i prefere ps3 for its exclusives, but xbox 360 is a better console for all-around games, and it has halo:reach, probably my favorite game of all time.
I wish they could hav gotten the licensing for the Real Ghostbusters Cartoon characters, but this look is fine.....For now! I wanna see the Real Ghostbusters Cartoon characters voiced by the original Cartoon staff but written by Dan Ackroid
Unfortunately the original voice of Venkman is dead, and they would have to use Dave Coulier who voiced him in the Extreme GB episode "Back in the Saddle."
i agree with this review, the camera does get a little wobbly. i only wish i had an adapter for the Wii-mote shaped like a proton pack and gun as my hand sometimes get a cramp... also the graphics and actors make it seem like a good mesh of the movies and cartoons. like it PIXAR was offered a contract to do a third ghostbusters movie
yes, but thats because that game is really using the wii's power. most games made by Nintendo (first party and even second party developer) use the Wii's power. (save the new play control and some games originally made for the Gamecube like Zelda Twilight Princess) the problem is third party developers (non-Nintendo made) who make a ps2 game and give that wii motion control. for the record. 2th party is a developer that makes a game for Nintendo. like Rare that made the Donkey Kong games.
Gamespot actually rated the Wii version the highest. I bought the Wii version and will get the PC version later down the line. And lol at the poor kids commenting on this video that had to sell their Wiis to afford a PS3. I own every system because they're all good and because I'm not 12. BTW, the PS3 version looks noticibly worse than the 360/PC versions.
i think ill stick to my pc version. nice graphics if you have the right mashine, the particle effects are very neat and there is keyboard+mouse or controller support. what more do you want? xD ..there are no achievements, but at least the story kicks ass :D
They keep doing this to the Wii so they can charge some rediculous price for the upgrade.Just like with downloadable content you pay $60 then pay more for extras they withheld.
They all look like Star Wars Clone Wars characters. That doesn't even look anything like Bill Murray or Dan Akroyd! They made Harold Ramis (Egon) so skinny that you almost can't even see him.
@Legoghost14 how so? what is the difference between the Ps3 and X360 versions? i understand they are the same (i dont have a X360 so i cant check) i have the Wii version but havnt played it yet. indeed i have a Wii, Ps3, DS lite and Psp of this generation. or are you just saying the X360 is the best because you have a X360? :P
wii games are looking much better .. of course they will never look as good as 360 or ps3, but the conduit looks really good visually and even call of duty world at war looks pretty good .. if they keep improving the engines that they are programming these games on, then wii's graphics issues could be a thing of the past.. it really hurts though that wii is not HD, even these cartoony graphics would look sweet with better resolution
@gamingrocks100 I hear ya man, I just never liked when people would bash the Wii because of the graphics, I own a PS3 but still find myself playing the Wii so much more and I'm a big playstation fan.
It's just a cop out to put cartoony graphics instead of realistic graphics, as some people have mentioned if the Cube was capable of outputting games like Resi 4 and Zelda then I don't think there should be an excuse not to at least TRY and make it more movie like than it is...
@Geeksunitedvideos, AVGN made that quote in the conclusion of his Ghostbusters review, and that came out a year before this came out, plus AVGN is a big Ghostbusters fan.
SSBB, Okami, Metroid Prime 3, The Conduit, and then Monster Hunter 3 is coming out along with Final Fantasy and Red steel 2. Those games all have great graphics comparable to 360. The thing is, nintendo is usually spending more time making FUN games then on trying to get even with the other consoles
I don't know why mostly XBOX 360 owners keep talking shit on the Wii all the time. It's hard playing games with the red ring of death staring at you. Who you gonna call when this happens? It sure isn't the Ghostbusters, I can tell you that much...
Graphics absolutely matter. If it wern't for graphical eveloution we'd still be stuck with two dimensional side scrollers, blurry backrounds, choppy cinematics, and unrealistic polygonic representations posing for the real thing. I don't think this game appealed on the Wii because the 'gamers' were expecting somthing more realistic and closer to the actual movie, and not to somthing kiddy, like the cartoon. I have to say that this game's graphics almost look like somthing for the N64 though.
I really like the Graphic style of the Wii version of the Ghostbusters the video game. It reminds of the Real Ghostbusters cartoon. And i grown up watching that cartoon! nostalgia overlord! xD LOL
even a ps3 fanboy from IGN can appreciate this game! i think you guys need to learn from him. This is a great game, i rented it and i think it was awesome. I dont know about the replay value though, since i only had it a week.
How is the hardware on the Wii any worse than the Gamecube. The Gamecube put out Resident Evil 4 and Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess both games had better graphics. That's like having a HDTV and trading it for a black and white.
I am a huge Wii fan and I must say....I'm disappointed. Granted, I haven't played this version of it, so I may have to rent it to see it for myself. However Ghostbusters is one of those things that IMO needs to have good graphics. Granted, much of the target demographic of Nintendo is children (See most of the game catalog for the Wii and the DS).
@Legoghost14 dude the ps3 version have the same quality as the 360 graphicly and in sound effects and even on the controlling. and the ps3 ver. may also have a motion control gameplay so theres no point of saying the xbox 360 version is the best version.
i mean 3th party games should look better on the Wii. Nintendo itself makes games that uses the Wii's power. (sadly not all games, some are gamecube games) the problem is that 3th party developers make a Ps2 version and then use that version for the Wii edition as well. just add motion control. funny you pick the one Wii game(Metroid) that i never played. but that's because i never played the first 2...witch i want to do first. i really love the Wii but lazy developers really hurt it.
@henkman00 yes I have a X360 the gameplay on the X360 is the best and you actually feel like your starring in the 3rd GhostBusters movie. the Ps2 is pretty much the same thing as the wii And the PsP has a little bit of crappy graphics that look like the game was being tested to see if it would work, what i mean is it's too blocklike, and glitches up to much in cutscenes. and i haven't gotten a chance to use the ds since i don't like it. overall it's a big improvement over the older ones
Ugh. Now, I'm usually the first person to say gameplay and challenge trump graphics in terms of a good game. But especially considering the version that's available for the PS3 and XBOX 360, this hurts to watch. If these graphics were used for a modern "Zombies Ate My Neighbors" game, though, I'd be all over that.
well, seeing that Ps2 and gamecube games are very close (im not sure if one was more powerful than the other) but if we see 1 gamecube as about the same as 1 Ps2. than a Wii should be about as powerful as 2 Ps2's. ive been playing alot of Wii for about 2 years until there where no more games for me to play, i bought a Ps3 to be able to play some games that never saw light on the Wii. but i do miss the wiimote... (there are games coming) i still believe wii games should look better.
For your information I have a 360, PS3 and a Wii. The Wii doesn't suck in my opinion. We are all entitled to our own opinions but you don't have to watch these videos if you don't like it. So stop posting your hate comments.
Well I'm a PC, Wii, and PS3 fan...so...I can play just about anything I want that comes out? So I think I win!
Poggers
I played the hell out of GhostBusters Wii back in late 2011. such precious memories of having the living room to myself during the night.
brony simpson I played the hell out of the ds version... still haven’t beaten it till this day
I want your livingroom to myself!
Ahh the nostalgia
I literally came here to say thay
So...you're saying there are no good games for the PS3, Wii, and PC combined? The only game that I've missed on the 360 that I care even a little bit about is Halo 3.
Thank you for that review. I feel much better for asking for the Ghostbuster Wii game for my Birthday. Besides I COULD GET A WII PROTON PACK!!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Glad to see the Wii Version of Ghostbusters get a decent review and I'm also happy to see the graphics compared to the original cartoons. (nosatlgia)
We can all respect IGN for being around so long
Just bought the game yesterday, and needless to say I'm nothing but pleased up till this point. Yes, the graphics are cartoony but they're still relatively nice looking and suit the game perfectly. The gameplay itself is fun as hell though, as the Wii's controls allow you to really get into it whenever you're catching a ghost. Great game overall!
I like the PC and x260 version better, but the Wii version had the split screen which was supa fun.
This game is actually more entertaining than the PS3 or 360 versions, the graphics are more ghostbuster-ish and the controller rocks.
P.S: I own a Wii and a 360
I came back because they remastered it for the PS4 and boy it looks great the graphics go check it out just put Ghostbusters ps4
All they need now is Lego Ghostbusters! That would be so cool
I will because it's true.
Hi
Let’s split it up into versions that are the same
Xbox 360 Ps3 & Pc
PSP ps2 & Wii
Ds
Now ps4
If I owned a Wii and a motion
controller and I was aged between
7 and 14 I would be very happy
with this game.
well, with the Wii Zapper you put the remote and nunchuck in the accessory. So what I mean is that you have to either throw the trap before you start battling or before you get the capture stream around the ghost.

When I was like 6 my mum took me to Argos. I bought this. I'm 15 now and I still playing it all the time!
all three Prime games in a set/disc or are we talking about the loose new play control metroid 1-2 and the Wii Metroid 3?

only thing i dont like about the wii is that not all games give you the option if you would like to use the GC or traditional controller.
I personally think its cool they didnt attempt to cram graphics from the 360/ps3 version and they took the cartoon type path. Nice AVGN reference at the beginning.
8/10 isn't bad.
@Legoghost14
what 'older ones'?
sounds to me that the X360 version is the same as the Ps3 version. that i also have.
graphics arnt the most important in a game, its the gameplay.
the Wii version looks like a cartoon, but i havnt played it yet. the wii mode could be fun if they programmed it right
Really good game but a little too short...
Controls are great as always on Wii. The pointer is just perfect for these kind of games!
A little too short?! This game is over 6 hour long!
more like a 25th aniversary game. unlike most movie games this one wasnt rushed to cash in on a movie release. i have the Ps3 version and the gameplay is great and the story is like what a movie 3 could have been. they did a good job on this one.
This is like The Real Ghostbusters which means it's as bad ass as the realistic versions on the PS3 & 360.
I swear, that little statement talking about Playstation editors reviewing Wii games came from AVGN...oh well. The Wii version seems to pale in comparison to the PS3/X360 version when it comes to graphics, but the motion control makes this game really stand out for the Wii.

I wish they could hav gotten the licensing for the Real Ghostbusters Cartoon characters, but this look is fine.....For now! I wanna see the Real Ghostbusters Cartoon characters voiced by the original Cartoon staff but written by Dan Ackroid
the only thing is that you have to come off the neutrona wand to throw the trap.
soon its halloween and i got a club and i was thinking of buying this game and playing it on halloween with my friends! is it worth to buy it?
Yeah mu version musy be corrupted i have the ps2 version wich is the same but my packs have no bumper or textures
I have Both, Ps2 And ps3.
Ps2 (Or wii) Ghostbusters was my childhood, same for PS3's Ghostbusters Remake...
Unfortunately the original voice of Venkman is dead, and they would have to use Dave Coulier who voiced him in the Extreme GB episode "Back in the Saddle."
i agree with this review, the camera does get a little wobbly. i only wish i had an adapter for the Wii-mote shaped like a proton pack and gun as my hand sometimes get a cramp...
also the graphics and actors make it seem like a good mesh of the movies and cartoons. like it PIXAR was offered a contract to do a third ghostbusters movie
i'm sure my mom would like this version better, she really wants to play the game
although she liked how they looked real
yes, but thats because that game is really using the wii's power. most games made by Nintendo (first party and even second party developer) use the Wii's power. (save the new play control and some games originally made for the Gamecube like Zelda Twilight Princess)

wow. the graphics look rather good on the wii too.
WISH they would drop all the cartoony shit tho.
I'll leave the internet browsing to my PC and my gaming to the game console, so in other words- no linux doesn't equal complete domination.
i think ill stick to my pc version. nice graphics if you have the right mashine, the particle effects are very neat and there is keyboard+mouse or controller support. what more do you want? xD
..there are no achievements, but at least the story kicks ass :D
i feel sorry for peeple who only have a wii, i really do.
They keep doing this to the Wii so they can charge some rediculous price for the upgrade.Just like with downloadable content you pay $60 then pay more for extras they withheld.

Have you played RF??? Its really good!
Sounds like a game to buy once it drops in price.
It's just a cop out to put cartoony graphics instead of realistic graphics, as some people have mentioned if the Cube was capable of outputting games like Resi 4 and Zelda then I don't think there should be an excuse not to at least TRY and make it more movie like than it is...
Luigi's mansion for the wii!
@Geeksunitedvideos, AVGN made that quote in the conclusion of his Ghostbusters review, and that came out a year before this came out, plus AVGN is a big Ghostbusters fan.
I remember the Atari 2600 version of Pac Man...
Graphics matter.
@Legoghost14 winston wasn't in the sega genesis version to.
@Geeksunitedvideos, "...cats and dogs living together. Mass hysteria!
I love this game, I have it for PS2
0:34 chick just pushes Peter outta the way...
Oh really? Enjoying that multi-player are we? Because I sure as hell am on my Xbox!
I don't know why mostly XBOX 360 owners keep talking shit on the Wii all the time. It's hard playing games with the red ring of death staring at you. Who you gonna call when this happens? It sure isn't the Ghostbusters, I can tell you that much...

i could careless about the graphics in this game as long as the game is fun to play.
I really like the Graphic style of the Wii version of the Ghostbusters the video game. It reminds of the Real Ghostbusters cartoon. And i grown up watching that cartoon! nostalgia overlord! xD LOL
and on a other note the graphics can be good on wii did you ever see ssbb it used dual layerd disc
@ThePotatoProductions Yeah. If he can't remember one of the best lines from the whole movie, he probably isn't a big ghostbusters fan.
LOL Wii games are always overlooked!! xD
even a ps3 fanboy from IGN can appreciate this game! i think you guys need to learn from him. This is a great game, i rented it and i think it was awesome. I dont know about the replay value though, since i only had it a week.

@Ollie7475 which quote would that be?
Thats the WII for ya.
the black guy winston is in the game later on!
@Legoghost14 dude the ps3 version have the same quality as the 360 graphicly and in sound effects and even on the controlling. and the ps3 ver. may also have a motion control gameplay so theres no point of saying the xbox 360 version is the best version.

@Ollie7475 that would be a ghostbusters quote itself, and not an AVGN reference.
This game looks great.
@Ollie7475 there was no AVGN reference in this video at all...
To Medaka350:
It's because their supposed to look like their animated series counterparts. *Whirr*
This game is fun ,it just has a cartoonish style. The game designers need to stop purposely down grading the Wii's graphics.
Ugh. Now, I'm usually the first person to say gameplay and challenge trump graphics in terms of a good game. But especially considering the version that's available for the PS3 and XBOX 360, this hurts to watch. i was just trying to get to a point, you are right
Graphics are better on ps3 but the game is much more fun on wii.

i still believe wii games should look better.
lol i could spend all day naming the epic, exclusive games you'll miss. but enjoy the bad games, and childrens games you'll have at your disposal.
whats it like driving a lambo? and living in a mansion?
For your information I have a 360, PS3 and a Wii. The Wii doesn't suck in my opinion. We are all entitled to our own opinions but you don't have to watch these videos if you don't like it. So stop posting your hate comments.
@KameoKid but if u ever watch the tv shows the characters look similar to those
Yeah huge ghostbusters fan huh? Uhh... its DOG'S & CAT'S living together.
@henkman00 you know the Sega and Nintendo on'es from the late 80's
people need to realize cartoon graphics doesn't = bad graphics
I tried this and it works pretty well.
