If you were wondering the times for the plants giving you organic, i figured it out. Sylvia plants takes 40 seconds, Atrox plants take 10 and the rest take 20 to make an organic
Simple solution.. use 4 to 6 trees from Silva to power the small generators with the auto arm... or add smelter to get carbon. 1 organic/carbon every 10(4)/8.33(6) secs... lots of power and no traveling to other planets.

I think this is really good for building a base on Atrox. Now instead of having to haul up RTGs, craft a ton of wind/solar power, or manually smelt carbon; you can set up an automated large generator unit for "unlimited" power.
Yes, it changes Atrox completely. No more having to worry about power, but is that a good thing. Atrox was supposed to be a hard planet, and they kind of nerfed it.
@@OneLastMidnight Thats been a ongoing problem with astroneer. They keep making additions that dramatically reduce the difficulty of the game, which in turn kills the feeling of progression. The automation patch reduced difficulty but was sufficently up the tech tree to make sense. The rail update was so OP i've basically stopped using rovers. And now the tapper... Why bother with wind and solar if i can just craft a million free trees and have endless consistent power? The rails & rail car should have required at least t2 resouces and the rail engine t3. The tapper should also be required to use at least T2 resources to be built given how OP it is...

@@h2rvrovers are good for when you will only be going to a place once but you don’t even need to steer trains once you get them set up. The rails also come in bundles like tethers.
Large Platform B and auto arm reaching 4 medium storage and 4 trees with 6 tappers (2 of those tappers produce organic at half but then you won't run out of power) and 4 small gens you are basically never gonna use more power if you are a casual player. Automatic research is the best; just get a lot of trees and a lot of auto arms and make it auto research while eating or something else like sleeping.

It's a real shame, power was somewhat balanced when I got the game, wind and solar had great output but would stop at times, generators required constant mining, batteries needed recharging and RTGs were extremely expensive for little output. QT RTG hadn't been invented yet and even when it was it was quest reward only.
Bytes shouldn't be a issue once you can craft large rover and storage silo B. Go to glacio and harvest much research object and boxes many as possible. They give 2k or 3k per item form special boxes. They can be opened by energy by the rover and often ammonium item
If I'm not mistaken you can craft dynamite automatically now, so you can scrap that. Edit: no sadly you can't, it explodes immediately (same with fireworks)
I love to use the tapper when I'm setting up a new auto extractor. Apart from the auto extractor, an auto arm and the (3-4) tappers I dont need to bring anything because I can produce the rest (platforms, medium storage small generators and even a small printer) with resin and compound on the spot. On Sylva, I just use 3-4 plumefirs to sustain the power for an auto extractor and auto arm for the power. The plumefirs also give 2 seeds around half the time, so I could start with just 1 seed in a pinch or if Im underground and harvest a few cycles. It has made power production and distribution so much easier when all auto extractors are self-sufficient islands from a power perspective.
This might seem like a RTG Kill but Remeber You got Tapper + 2 Arms + 1 Furnace + X amount of generator working And at a small scale this might not seem a lot but when more amount of these exist the more the lag Which is why RTG is better cause its just 1 object

@@Astrobotl84 Its dumb how they are removing the need to have or want RTGs. The balance of the game is way off 😞. I mean you can always make the choice not to use something or to use something base on prefrence.. but still this seems OP and not very rewarding to use.
@@Daeon108RTG can still be important. The RTG takes up less space and work to set up, aside from nano carbon alloy. If you gather enough resources at a time, you can get lots of nano carbon alloy for the late game without the need for twenty lines of power generation, it's much simpler.
I just got back to playing after years away, might have been before 1.0! I came up with the tree farm early on and have 2 trees, burnt to carbon, feeding 2 generators and 4 labs easily, could probably double the buildings and still be fine with 2 trees less if I use faster producing ones(which I didn't know were a thing!). Probably needs to be nerfed 😄Researching carbon is the way to go since you never have to spend time on second resource runs!
I am able to generate power on atrox reliable other than rtg generators but i will implant this system with smelters and medium generator as soon as I'm back in the game
i hope they introduce one sort of plant pot. First of all i'm terrible with plant in the terrain , secondary with a "normal" item it will be possible to make full automatic farm and even mobile farm. Basically with this update we have infinite power ... we can build an infinite power vehicle. i Hope for more time of "infinite" item like this, i really enjoy the hallowee pumpkin special seeds but they don't have so much sense. At the time i make an automated factory with a loot of sensor but only for rewards
Sadly, no. Glowsticks can only be created on the backpack. System Era would need to move glowsticks to the small printer for early game unlimited scrap. I highly doubt they will because it is to OP.
If you don't do the missions I'm not sure when you get your first QRTG. There are so many different ways to play Astroneer. One of the great things about it.
@@000phoenix00092000 Glowsticks can only be printed on the backpack, and backpack printing can not be automated. Already talked to the devs about adding it to the small printer. We will have to wait and see it they change it.
This new update doesnt interest me at all. Its been like this since we finally got a true end game. I miss reasons to play and this definitely isnt one of them.
The updates for Spring and Summer will be small with a large update happening at the end of the year. It will be interesting to see what the expansion will include.

i watched my first ever tutorial vid for astroneer 2 years ago on this channel and upto today i still love this guy

LOL, right. Tested that when they added dynamite to the game. The result is rather explosive. :P
I love to use the tapper when I'm setting up a new auto extractor. Apart from the auto extractor, an auto arm and the (3-4) tappers I dont need to bring anything because I can produce the rest (platforms, medium storage small generators and even a small printer) with resin and compound on the spot.

For sure, and I have covered those methods in my research methods videos. This was to find something to do with the tapper besides power.
This was quite useful for automating the new event. If only there was a way to automate loading. I’m practically drowning in .
