I like your philosophy. We have a vacation home near San Vito. Perfect for us. We like the climate, although there are some expats up there, you can go days without hearing English. Probably too remote for most people.
I live in Moravia near the Lincoln Plaza and it's very nice. Everything is walkable. We now have a car and like to visit Atenas, Santa Ana, and Escazu.
@@yourpuravida We live in Los Colegios/San Vincente/Moravia. It is a nice middle class neighborhood that looks up at Lincoln Plaza. It does not have what most expats are looking for but has been a good fit with us.
Awesome @samriver2966 - have you identified where you're looking to land? If you have questions please feel free to reach out or look for more information on our site. Pura Vida!
@yourpuravida so far we have been looking at Escazu, Santa Ana are near San Jose. Probably a more expensive choice. If I have questions I will surely hit you up. Thanks
I'm going to be very careful in how I respond because the reality is that Costa Rica is truly safe. There are some places it is suggested to avoid due to gang/drug crime, but I also know people who live in those communities who will truly disagree. The fact is there are safe and unsafe parts of any bigger town. There are for sure parts of San José I probably wouldn't feel comfortable because I stand out as a gringo with limited Spanish fluency, and there are places I wouldn't go late at night (like a secluded beach or dark street). But truthfully I have never felt "unsafe" anywhere in the country.
I'm glad you wrote this - as we always want to clarify. We are a business so our pitch is "we want to help you" and yes, that's something we charge for. But we DO NOT partner with any vendors (realtors, attorneys, etc.) and get referral fees - which so many others do. Rather than steering our clients to the person we make money off of, we look for the right fit for you - and often refer more than one so you can feel the best connection. We do not force any clients to work with anyone. Because at the end of the day, we are here to help our clients live and thrive. So you are right, it is a pitch to support people. But it's not a pitch to "use our great vendor" and we make money from that. Thanks for letting us clarify!
That's the premise of the video. We speak about many places here but the headline is: "There is no one area, it is very case-by-case depending on your wants and needs".
wow... what a waste of air.. between the two of you not even a city or town.. i get what your doing but its not that hard. you guys got stuck on stupid and missed the boat.. thanks but no thanks
Ok George. I’ll take the bait and respond. First, we love this country and there isn’t a best place place to live, there are hundreds. Second, this is OUR opinion, you can feel free to share your own video and opinion. I’m sure it’ll be fantastic. And third, if you don’t like. Fine. But to be this loud about it says you aren’t meant to watch this and we’d rather you spend your energy someplace else. Pura Vida!
Where is *your* place in Costa Rica? Where are you watching from? Comment below!

@leejeffries9796 thank you for watching. That is remote and somewhere I need to visit still. I bet it's beautiful! Pura vida.

Thanks for watching and for commenting! I don't know Moravia that well and I need to explore that area. Pura vida! - Aaron

Are there any specific places to avoid?
